[QUOTE="DanteSuikoden"]I can't believe the amount of selfish people in this thread. These people are the reason the system is so tight, because if it wasn't there is no doubt America would be extremely corrupt because individuals wouldn't take part in strengthening the economy. Also, where do you guys get off bringing up the argument that "i don't wanna give up my money to lazy poor people that don't deserve it:cry:" Most ignorant statement I have heard. For one, it's not solely giving money to the under-class, its used to support the government. You know, for the public schools a majority of you probably attended, or for the firemen and police officers that bust there asses to keep us safe [in essence they are in the category of the so called lazy people] Are you entitled to the money you earn? Of course you are, but taxes is made to give back to government that created the establishments you work for.Zentrenius

Capitalism strengthens the economy. Socialism hinders it. It's that simple.

Ever heard about the current financial crisis that came from Reagan's policies of deregulation? Yeah I didn't think so...

Because it's wrong for people who have enough money to help out those who are down on their luck. Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me either.

Long live John Galt!

Atlas shrugged is a pile of trash.

I won't disagree. I preferred The Fountainhead by a huge margin :)

Do the people down on their luck have a right to the money of those who aren't?

I think not. That, my friend, is anarchy. And anarchy, I'm afraid, is foolishness incarnate.

Due to the fact that humans are inherently not exactly the most friendly of beings, there needs to be some degree of control in order for complete and total chaos to be avoided.

I have not. Have you heard of the current financial crisis that was caused by the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 under the Carter administration, which was only enforced in 1992 by members of the Clinton administration that forced banks and lending companies to give high-risk loans? Do you honestly believe that the lending companies gave high-risk loans by their own volition? Are you daft?

[QUOTE="FragStains"]You are removing self-reliance and personal responsibility from society. vlin1108

Yeah, I'm sure all those kids whose parents can't even afford a pair of socks for them should go get a job. Maybe they could apply for a post as a decoy for Chris Hansen.

You know what some of the 'self-reliant' poor people do? Steal, kill and sell their bodies for their family. Guess the rich simply can't pass on another slice of their pudding for breakfast.

Nope. We love our pudding. Poor people are poor for a reason. Get a job like everyone else you bums. This goes to all you idiots that thinks taxing the richer people more is fair. You think we make good money by sitting on our a**es all day like you do?

When you people get in the real world and start earning a excess of 70k and the government takes it so they can give it to people who made bad choices in life than you will understand

Its one thing to help people in need, its another thing to enable them to continue milking the system.
