[QUOTE="tocool340"]Because I build my body for mobility and athleticism. There is no need for big bulky muscles when I have enough strength to do my daily activities. I can bench press 230 lbs (Maybe more. I don't lift weights but I recently decided to give it a try just out of curiosity and was able to BP 230lbs. I think I could lift more though...) and I'm pretty swift while weighing 145 lbs. That's all I need...sonofsmeagle

Just not interested in it. I'm in shape. Still play basketball, can still run, still walk pretty much anywhere no matter the weather(I hate driving unless it's completely necessary). I would like to gain about 10 or 15 pounds though, but just because I'm not jacked doesn't mean I'm not healthy.

No its possible for some one to bench press 2x their own weight after years of muscle building and weight lifting. But i refuse to believe that some litte 145ib guy can bench press 230lbs without ever doing any sort of weight lifting and just trying it suddenly can do that.

My guess is that he looked at the weights and got the lbs and kilos mixed up... I am probably sitting around 10 stone and I could probably only just manage a few reps of 60kgs (132 lbs). I am a typical super skinny guy however after seeing some of the super sized guys in my gym they just kinda look like big blobs.

I also call bullshat. I'm 6'0 190lbs and have been training intensely for three years and anything around 225 and above is heavy even for me.

I don't have the right genes and correct body chemistry for me to become buff and strong. I also don't eat enough of the right food and am suffering from disease and severe depression.

I'm not big, but I'm toned and happy with my body. I workout about five days a week in the morning before class. It helps to clear my mind for the day, and gives me a nice energy boost. It's about being consistent, and keeping at it; like anything in life.

Do I need to take a picture of the weight set? It's has lbs written on it...

I'm not able to lift it more than 3 times if makes it believable...

I'd have to spend probably $50 a month on extra food and supplements to get big..... It is simply not worth it. Staying thin/small and decently toned is good enough for me.

Don't have the proper genes/laziness. At my fitness peak I was fairly lean and a decent runner. Not every guy can have a six pack/ripped muscular body, just as every girl cannot look like a Maxim model. Besides, those are just socially fabricated ideals designed to make you feel like crap. When you start dieting/exercising, the goal should be to be the most fit you can be, NOT to look like one of those "beautiful" people.

The cool thing about being short is that you can put on noticable muscle mass fairly easily and quickly, and get some pretty good lifts which is good for keeping you motivated and confident. Of course you don't want to do in a way that will make you look like a short ball of muscle but ya' know.

I've heard that before...usually from small and weak people.

just look at fashion...the ladies love small, weak guys they don't make shirts for ogres

Naw I agree with sonofsmeagle. No way you can do 230lbs with your weight. Im 6ft 170lbs, and I can bench my weight maybe twice, your saying your 145lbs and can bench double your weight?? the numbers just dont add up.

[QUOTE="tocool340"]

[QUOTE="sonofsmeagle"][QUOTE="tocool340"] Like I said with the other guy, call it whatever you want. 230 LBS is pretty damn heavy, but I'm still able to BP it. I weigh 145 LBS and 6"0 tall. Don't have to believe if you don't want to...

ok this is even more bullshattery, are you trolling ? 6ft tall and 145lbs and you can bench press 230lbs? that made it so much more unbeleivable, if you were say 5'2'' then there would be a slim possibility but 6ft? Listen i've been weight lifting since i was 14 and right now i'm floating around 215-220lbs and bench pressing 230 is a tough for me, and your trying to say that your some skinny as bone 6ft 145lb guy that can bench press 230lbs 3 times, I'd lay money saying that you couldnt bench press 150lbs once.

*Sigh* Whatever, its not all that serious for me to argue about it. You can call it BS all you want, won't change anything. And no, I'm not trolling. Don't gain much from doing so...

Actually, I just decided to count the weights I was using and it would appear that I was actually lifting 180 lbs. So yeah, my mistake. You can still call that BS, makes me no difference...

yeap still putting money down that you would fail at 150 Do you understand what a bench press is?, you know that you have to take it off the rack and ease it down to your chest then push it up all the way to the top again right? Pushing it up about an inch doesnt count, tho i think you'd struggle with that too.

Naw I agree with sonofsmeagle. No way you can do 230lbs with your weight. Im 6ft 170lbs, and I can bench my weight maybe twice, your saying your 145lbs and can bench double your weight?? the numbers just dont add up.

Yeah, I edited my post. I counted the weight and it was actually 180lbs, though my step dad said 230lbs. Still sound unbelievable though. But like I said, doesn't really matter to me... BTW, when you double 145, you get 290, which isn't very close to 230...

Don't know if someone cares but I believe the 180lb one

There's this guy at my gym that presses with four 45lb discs and he's like 5'8''

So yeah it's possible

I know what bench pressing is. I was able to push it to where both my arms was nearly extended. To be honest, on my third one, I actually needed help and lucky for me, my step dad was around since he was the one who suggested I try it out...
