Radiohead musically and lyically, are one of the most intelligent and original bands out there. Each album is fresh and better than the last. Muse however, has gotten worse with each album, and their lyrics are terrible. They seem like a band that tried to copy Radiohead and failed miserably. Radiohead FTW.

Radiohead. Although I'll admit I did hesitate before clicking 'Vote!' on the poll. :P

Anyone that says "I don't like Radiohead, but I love Muse" needs to listen to Ok Computer and reconsider that statement. The bands are similar enough to make liking exclusively Muse almost impossible (I keep that comparison one sides because all of Muse sounds like some Radiohead, but not all of Radiohead sounds like Muse.)

The only reason any Radiohead song sounds like Muse is because Muse is a cheap copy.

I don't experience any kind of connection with Muse through their music, no matter how "catchy" it is. I think they are great and fun, but I have a hard time relating or taking them seriously. Very much unlike Radiohead. Songs like The Tourist have an emotional depth I find hard to describe. And I like their personality.

So I voted Radiohead.

Also, Radiohead's b-sides to Amnesiac are amazing. They are my favorite Radiohead material. Especially Cuttooth and Amazing Sounds of Orgy.

[QUOTE="KLAX42"] Jonny is even more of a genius, actually. But they're all amazing.gameeer1
Though that is because Jonny is the only one out of the group that's been cIassically trained. But Thom is still great as well.

Yeah, that's true. Now imagine if Thom got some formal training as well. :o

I don't think anybody's ears would be ready for something that epic.

LOL at the Muse haters saying they are Radiohead copycats. Similar yes, but those similarities have long disappeared after Showbiz.

I don't get the comparison they have completely different sounds. I'm a big fan of Muse, but I just can't get into Radiohead that much.

You can't just magically get away from your original influences, btw. They'll always be there, even if they endeavor to purposefully erase the sound.

But it's fine if a band is influenced by other bands, Radiohead must have their own influences, but saying Muse "copied" Radiohead is completely false

I think Radiohead are more of a quiet, moving sort of band. Their music is very beautiful and complex, even the angrier songs. Muse are more of a rock-out, melt your face off band. But i love them both. That's why Nine Inch Nails are ultimate win. They're like a combination of the two.

No, I'm serious. Muse is not a copy of Radiohead in any way. I like Muse, I just like Radiohead more. And I can hear influences, but I've not heard any songs on Origin of Symmetry (the album I listen to the most (she (my girlfriend) has another as well (might be Showbiz?, but I don't like it nearly as much)) that sound LIKE Radiohead.

C'mon, seriously? Muse is winning? That's when you know people don't listen to music. Radiohead are much more innovative than Muse, they're more varied, and they can write more than just pop songs. OK Computer, Kid A and The Bends are all considered classics by almost everybody. Muse is for NME people. NME people are the kids who listen to mainstream radio, but think they're cool, thinking it's not mainstream because it doesn't have teen pop. Even worse than a hipster is a wannabe hipster.king_for_a_day

I don't understand how Muse is winning either and am flabbergasted...OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, and In Rainbows destroy anything Muse has done collectively.

In terms of critical acclaim, I'll agree with OK Computer. But I think Origin of Symmetry is dam good competition for the others.
