Does it matter? Nobody is changing their mind, but some fat 400lb lineman can move those buff rugby players and i'm sure the buff linebackers could hold their own and take more of a beating, same with the RB.

rugby, no contest.

they're fitness is just insane. granted, nfl fitness is also very high, but the players are often bigger (steroids ;)) and thus heavier and with less stamina. not always of course, but generally. so they could just up the pace, and leave the nfl behind

secondly, the tackling is more precise, and then probably more skilled, it has to be extremely accurate, they can't just swing an arm and clothes line a dude...

If you tried to play football without pads these days...you would die. Of course, if you took away pads, hitting would be much softer, like Rugby. However, there is no doubt that there is a lot more hitting, and a lot harder hits in theNFL.
