anyone who believes in evolution can't believe in any form of God then.. or else they're just doing what most religions do, picking what they want to be true out of the bible, and ignoring the rest. americahellyeahWhy can't they? The majority of Christians believe in Evolution.

We accept it based on insurmountable evidence in favor of it. And yes you can be religious and accept evolution. Look up a guy named Ken Miller on youtube.
[QUOTE="BangsLiekWhoa"]and like stated above. micro-evolution is perfectly fine by me and makes logical sense. macro-evolution tho is a problem especially since they still are missing parts of the chain apart from some species that look similar... so a hawk and a sparrow are both birds...i highly doubt they both came from the same great-grandparents...xscrapzx
There is evidence starting to support that raptors are ancestors of birds, I think one thing to show that, that is becoming more of a fact is to look at a birds foot, and tell me that does not look like a reptile's foot.
I never seen a raptor, but thats not to say your wrong or anythinganyone who believes in evolution can't believe in any form of God then.. or else they're just doing what most religions do, picking what they want to be true out of the bible, and ignoring the rest. americahellyeahand that there is pure bull****

By your argument, then a 'true' Christian must also believe in the bad things in the Bible, slavery, etc.
correction, as there were many people of roman times that were shockingly huge, the size of a person is not evolution, but their diet, hence reasoning of asian babies becoming larger (taller) than their parents when born in USA (thats an old occurance as few Asian countries (china) have been growing and accessing better food source. Plus, dna exchange from parents to child also add to your so called change which in no doubt occur, with both of these explanations 'evolution' is easily overlookedI wounder what the human race will look like in the future...6 arms, 96 fingers, 4 legs, 2 heads, more holes than now...USB connectivity.
Anyways...I think something had to have sparked that first evolution from bacteria to bug/animal/w.e. Now...it's obvious humans didn't always look like we do now...it's just unreasonable to DENY evolution completely, I don't think that's done anymore. Just the fact that humans were half our size in the roman times is proof enough...the rest are just ideas and theories. Believe what you want.

[QUOTE="Wolf-Man2006"] Wow.. If a species goes extinct, a new species will not arise from the extinct species because the extinct species is no longer subject to the process of evolution. What is being stated is "strongest provail" which evolution proclaims for the animal world. And there fore through the so called years of change and adaptation, an animal will become a new species crerating a situation to which the new species or better adapted species survives and out performs the lesser, meaning the leaser dies out. The dino that wolf-man talks about is in reference towards just that, and he asks why would the dino still be alive even when there is a suitable situation that under evolution's description...the dino would be dead instead of continuing its species.Sure, though I'm never good at remembering certain things. There was one example in the late 70s when some sort of water dino was found near Japan (it was a few months dead.) I forgot the name, but what I do know is according to Evolution, a certain race will die off and a new one will come. What happened with that water dino? It should have been dead millions of years ago.DeeJayInphinity
Amazing how bees can fly yes...sorry just saw a movie.......
Plus I would like to mintion, how amazing it is that man has never acted in acordance to evolution nor the laws of nature until our concious is aware of actions and the spirit of a person or persons changes that performance.

or the duty of one person towards another...you think it is the same as slavery...but really just the payment of dues. Even today, if you dont pay or cant pay for a meal, you may pay that due in labor. Labor has changed along with terms used to describe it.

What you're talking about is closer to indentured servitude, not slavery. There is a difference. (Check the references)
Most people deny evolution because in turn they do not understand it themselves. There is some belief perpetrated by creationists that religion and evolution can not coexist when certainly they can. There is soo much evidence for evolution, that most scientists agree it as fact and the only reason it is a theory because of the number of creationists believing it could not happen. However, if you believe in God or any other religion in most cases you can still accept religion. Evolution explains the development of the multitude of species on earth. There is nothing in evolution saying that say a designer was to create theese species through the use of evolution. It only really conflicts with possibly a few religions at best and people who actually take their scriptures 100% literally.
Because they are too ignorant to learn about the actual science behind the process and just keep purporting the same, incredibly wrong arguments against it.foxhound_fox
I'll agree. :D
[QUOTE="123625"]I imagine that's true. But I've never actually met an atheist who denies Evolution. In general, the motive for denying Evolution is religion.Because it doesnt convince them, and christians and religious people arnt the only ones to deny it. Not all Atheists beleive in Evolution.
espoac
Not quite. When you think about it Religion and Evolution is essentially the same thing. A founding creed of Christianity is that Man should realise his mistakes, ask for forgiveness and be reunited with The Lord. So basically Evolution and Religion are 2 different evolutions of a different kind. One is spiritual and mental, one is physical and adaptive. We need both to move forward but what Religious leaders dont realise is that when they talk about our journey towards God they are talking about our Evolution. As certain groups of people became more attuned (as they thought) to their souls they also developed the new physical strength (Evolution, in the scientific sense) and stamina to Ascetise and worship in more extreme ways. They are both natural processes, but one could not have occurred without the other.

mindstorm
The height difference is only because of the difference in diet... as can be seen in places like Japan. The last generation is shorter than the current generation simply because of a change in diet... That's not Evolution.
Exactly mindstorm. Thats adaptation.

Pope, take note.

Slaves in the Bible were treated differently than in later times, however. There are several uses for the word "slave," and in some areas, being a king's subject was to be a "slave."
I don't deny it. It just didn't happen. As far as I'm concerned, atheism and darwinism is the same as christianity, buddhism, etc. jaydough
Enlightened man/woman, people.
Science and religion try to prove the same things through different methods!
Genesis in the bible actually describes the creation of the Earth quite well if you take it all as metaphor.
