Why do people think anime is weird?

Bad enough I can't understand it, but it makes it worse the voices are so squeaky. I like anime more because I think the storylines and artists are better than ours. Manga on the other hand..I rather read a comic book or another graphic novel from the states.

Japanophiles. That's the word I was looking for. I don't think there's any other stereotype that annoys me more than Japanophiles.

Blood+ is the best anime of all time, but my friends say it sucks just because it's anime.... I hate egoitistical ****s that think Anime sucks even without even watching the series.

I am COMPLETLY IN LOVE with thisThis anime:D

Not any weirder than watching prime time tv which wraps up all it's loose ends but the "oh noes the villain is still at large" ending and throw-spanner-in-the-works plot twist.

Seriously though, the themes in animes (derived from mangas, so I guess we can include that) and the type of humour is something that simply doesn't happen in most western shows, in fact the closest thing I have seen to wacky-Japanese style humour in a western show is something like Scrubs (the earlier seasons), which I guess is why I found it so funny.

Quite why or how anyone is equating it with hentai I don't really know, most of the shows you hear people talking about like Naruto or Bleach don't even deal with those themes.

I grew up with the idea that cartoons should be made like Rugrats and Spongebob, etc. But then when I (or anyone else that grew up with that idea) sees these other cartoons that have wide eyed, HUGE mouths and no noses, you can't help but think that it is wierd and repulsive. I hate the premise of anime and think it's absolutly atrocious (sp). I honestly can't stand anime, it makes my eyes want to puke.cpo335

They don't have noses, I don't care what you say, they have no noses and if they do, it's like a dot or a line. Their mouths are huge when they get excited or smile which is ever other ****ing line. the only way the eyes make the character is if they were some sort of alien, which they probably are. I could careless of what you said about Spongebob or Rugrats sice I havn't seen it in years. They do have good drawings, don't lie, they are good.

Some cartoons are weird, and others arent't.

Personally, I think the Japanese form of cartoon animation is a bit weird because of the same expressions used over and over again and the eyes can be a bit big sometimes, not all the time though.

Doesn't mean I think all Japanese cartoons are bad though.
