Yep, any minute now. Canada has TONS of culture! Which Canada are you thinking of?flamesrule12
On one hand I think it's kind of true, as there isn't really any major thing that you can point at and say truthfully "this is distinctively and uniquely Canadian".
On the other hand I don't see why I would care about something like that.
Never been to Canda, don't want to. Would not say I hate them but Canda just looks like a bad place to live/visit. To cold for my standards, unless I am mistaken about temperatures there.TheColbert
You should move to southwestern BC, otherwise known to the rest of Canada as Lotus Land. In the middle of February, the weathermen always call for mostly sunny with a 100% chance of gloating. Victoria even has an annual February flower count, during which we scientifically inform the rest of Canada that we have precisely 45,356,235 flowers in bloom while they're all buried under snow.
I have never heard of anyone hating Canada or Canadians. Hell the only way I can get a meal served at a restaraunt in Eastern Europe is to lie and say I am Ffom British Columbia, Canada. Because they have the same accent I do.
If you are from the South forget it. Southern US accent is the most recognised American English accent in the world.
[QUOTE="xXBuffJeffXx"]I wouldn't confuse hate with general teasing. I know a lot of people who make silly Canada jokes, but I don't know anyone who hates Canada.metroidfoodExactly. Canada's a nice place, they just end up being the butt of a lot of jokes. :PExactly, Canada is a hippie and the USA is a redneck
We don't hate Canada, we hate Quebec.Legendaryscmtlol, yep. Pretty much. I'm from Canada, and I've never been anywhere else. I don't like it much, the one city I liked was Montreal. I still live here, in Niagara Falls. The winter is cold, the stupid drunk Americans trash the place in the summer, and the fall and spring are pretty much like "Winter Light." And, btw, Vancouver thanks you for the complement, OP, but five words: Postal Movie by Uwe Boll.

Yeah you guys are right behind Quebec in the popularity ratings. Show offs.People hate Canada cos it sucks. ... Hard. There, i contributed. /discussBiancaDKThat's a bit harsh.... We DON'T suck!
[QUOTE="bogaty"]- No real culture. We define ourselves by pointing out how we're different from Americans.- It's bloody cold!WushuFighter
The difference between America and Canada is in America, you are expected to be an American first and foremost. In Canada, you are not obligated. You may be whatever your culture is, express your views and opinions freely, and know that you will not be discriminated against because of your culture or ethnicity. Your culture first and being Canadian second.
And it's not that cold. Most places in Canada have mild winters but it's usually the prairies and northern areas that are very cold in the winter.
Uh, that still happens regardless.[QUOTE="WushuFighter"][QUOTE="bogaty"]- No real culture. We define ourselves by pointing out how we're different from Americans.- It's bloody cold!gameeer1

Uh, that still happens regardless. Not true. The "tolerance" nazis basically degree by fiat which groups are OK to disciminate against and which aren't. You're more than welcome to mock any European ethnic group with jokes, stereotypes, and funny accents (Scottish, Polish, Italian, Russian, whatever) with the one exception being the French. You can't make fun of the French lest someone assumes you're mocking the Quebecois, in which case you are intolerant scum and should be fined or charged with a hate crime. It's also perfectly acceptable to disparage Christians and atheists. Also, should you decide to disparage a group of Europeans, it's best to ensure that your comments are either gender neutral or male-specific. If you're seen to be denegrating females, you're sexist filth and should be fined or charged with a hate crime. It's also fine to mock people from being from a certain geographic region in Canada. Newfie jokes, redneck Albertan jokes, pothead BC hippie jokes, etc. But again, only if the comments are seen as gender neutral and aimed at whites. (IE, it's fine to call a Newfie a drunken, inbred fish molestor. It's not fine to call an aboriginal from Labrador a drunken, inbred fish molestor).
The same goes should you have the temerity to say anything even remotely negative about a group (or even an individual) from an ethnic or religious group, or a sexual orientation that the tolerance nazis have declared to have been "disenfranchised"at some time in the past. Say anything deemed less that glowingly positive about non-white immigrants, Indians, non-Christians, gay/lesbians, handicapped, midgets, trannies, etc and you're a bigot and should be fined or charged with a hate crime.
Bloody nanny state crap gets on my nerves and it pisses me off that I have to give up aspects of my culture in order to "accomodate" newer arrivals. The hypocritical double standard also gets on my nerves.

Im Canadian and I wonder why Americans are so ignorant towards us. I've honestly met people who have had experiences in USA where americans asked us if we live in igloos. Canada is a great country, were just nicer, smaller (population) and it costs a little bit more to buy stuff here. Im under the impression alot of other countrys like Canada.HelbrecYou think that's bad you should go on youtube and search, Rick Mercer Talking To Americans, they believe everything he says lol. But ya Canada owns, I went to Buffalo once (Leaf game!) and had a bad experience.....I ate at Arby's......nightmares followed.

I have to say if I went to the US and they asked me those questions, I would be glad to play along.
I've been to Canada when I was a 9 years old; and they were the nicest people that O have ever met, nicer than most people that I have met in America and I have never experinced that niceness ever again. I'm thinking about going back again when I get enough money. Canada is coolDazedDarknessi never said i hated canada
