In my opinion it was awful. Just another Batman movie. It had a story that was hard to follow, didn't have enough action scenes, and Christian Bale was awful as batman.

I didn't get what was going on through the movie. I admit Heath Ledger was good as the Joker, but Heath Ledgers death was the reason why this movie did so well at the box office. I think it was just "sympathy."

People complain about Avatar but I thought Avatar was good. People were saying this movie was "amazing". But I just wanted it to be over. Is it because Im not a Batman fan? Its just the same as any other super hero movie. Why does everyone make a fuss about this movie. Did you like it or dislike it?

This is in my opinion.

I thought it was a great movie. It isn't going to join the classics, but it was a great movie nonetheless.

I liked it, but I felt it was a bit overrated. Just as a personal preference, I thought Batman Begins was better.

Why would you go see a Batman movie if you weren't a Batman fan? Granted I agree with the sympathy, I'm sure a lot of people who went to see the movie weren't Batman fans, but still...

The movie would go from people talking quietly, to Batman riding that bike thing. Ok, a large amount of people are on boats? What the heck? The joker blew up the jail with a cell phone which was in a guy?

I thought it was great. The only thing I thought that felt kinda tacked on was the Harvey Dent/ 2 Face story. I think the movie should have been all about Joker and then in the next one they could do Harvey Dent completely in all his glory. Also, while Ledger was a superb Joker, I sort of wish he had managed to get the dark twisted psychotic nature of comic book Joker that makes him so terrifying. I think the movie played too much on Joker's logical planning side and lightly touched on his psychotic and chaotic personality. Overall though, it was a superb movie.

Either you kept falling asleep for 20 minute time spans or you're just being hyperbolic for the sake of trying to make a point.

Because people who weren't batman fans were saying it was good. To set a box office record it just wasn't batman fans seeing it. I rented this movie.

Let me explain the story to you. There's this guy, The Joker. He's a bad guy. The Dark Knight had a really straight-forward story, especially whenyou compare it to some of Chistopher Nolan's other movies.

How was the story hard to follow, and how was there not enough action? All I'll give you is that they made Christian Bale do weird things to his voice as Batman, but beyond that he's fine. Not being a batman fan probably has something to do with it, but tons of people who hate comic books loved dark knight. Definitely better than Avatar.

First off, I hate the Batman voice it is the most annoying thing ever conceived on screen. As for the movie I thought it was decent not great, not better than the old campier movies of the 90's and certainly not the OMG!!!GREATEST!!!MOVIE!!EVURRRRRR!!!! everyone was saying. It was a passable superhero movie. Also I didn't like Ledger as the Joker, he enver seemed deranged to me, more like a guy who doesn't really care about anything. Jack's performace origianlly was better than Heath's

My favorite Batman movie. I was excited when Batman Begin turned out to be good and then when the trailers were starting to show for The Dark Knight I got really excited. Probably saw the movie 8 times which for me is quite rare outside of comedy movies.

No characters were explained. Also, the guy with half his face burnt off, how is he talking perfectly normal? This movie just didn't make sense. It was just to long and complicated. They were talking so quiet, I didn't understand what they were saying. Explaining a complicated story by whispering is hard to understand.

whats hard about the story to follow? ive never heard someone say its hard to follow before. you must be part of this generation that just wants a movie to be a 2 hour action sequence with no story whatsoever.

Another thing...you say The Dark Knight didn't have enough action, but you liked Avatar? They probably had the same amount of action...if not, I'd lean towards The Dark Knight having more. It was basically action scene after action scene.

I don't see how the story was hard to follow whatsoever. Bale's Batman voice is annoying as hell, but over-all it is a damn good film. Plenty of action sequences, and really good ones at that, plus the fantastic performance by the late Heath Ledger. It's deserving of its praise in my opinion.

To give TC some credit there was some stuff in the movie that may not be clear the first time around. Most of the time it was Joker or his people that were getting things done and set up. The one thing that made me think " I don't get why that was so easy" was at the start Batman captures the Scarecrow from BB right? He had a really rough time with him in BB so I found it odd that he was able to get him during a routine drug bust.

Coming from the guy with Austin Powers as an avatar...... But anyway, Heath Ledger's death had nothing to do with the Dark Knight doing so well. It had lots of action scenes (pretty intense action too) and lots of people like the first batman. So people came to see the second.

If his death was the reason why it did well at the box office why didn't Soul Men do well then? The one with the late Bernie Mac. To you and the people who continue saying that: Wouldn't the profits have dropped right down by word of mouth if it was a bad movie and people were just seeing it because of the star that died? Its one of the highest grossing films ever.

I loved it because its really well written, the performances are collectively great, there's a lot of well staged intense action and it also looks amazing. The photography is one of the really unspoken assets of the film.

Not to sound mean but not many people knew Soul men even existed and Bernie Mac wasn't big news on the TV. I didn't know he was dead until some short time later. Ledger was the main villain in a hotly anticipated film from a well known franchise and was good looking enough I guess that all the girlies sort of cared when he died. The whole world was talking about "OMG that poor kid died and he had a little daughter and this and that..." some Christian fanatics were probably like "he's going to hell for playing a gay dude in that Mountain movie". Heath's deaths certainly did give TDK some more awareness to the general public.

Who is Lieutenant James Gordon? Harvey Dent? Sal Maroni?

iginlawasup

You have to take into account that this movie is a sequel. It's meant to be watched after Batman Begins, just like Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is meant to be watched after Fellowship of the Ring.

Lieutenant Gordon's character was pretty well explained in Batman Begins.

Harvey Dent is an attorney who has been dating Bruce Wayne's ex-girlfriend...I'm not entirely sure how you didn't really "get" his character.

Sal Maroni wasn't that important in the grand scheme of things. He was just a crime boss.

No characters were explained. Also, the guy with half his face burnt off, how is he talking perfectly normal? This movie just didn't make sense. It was just to long and complicated. They were talking so quiet, I didn't understand what they were saying. Explaining a complicated story by whispering is hard to understand.

Did you perchance have your volume turned to 0? I also don't understand what you mean about no characters being explained :?

Who is Lieutenant James Gordon? Harvey Dent? Sal Maroni?

To all people who are attacking me. Its MY OPINION! I could say the same thing about people not liking Avatar. I thought this movie was boring. I have seen and liked movies with good stories and no action.

The movie 2012 didn't have much of a story and lots of action but I hated it.

I'm pretty sure they addressed who Gordon was in the previous movie...no point in them being repetative and going over that again. Harvey Dent is the DA of Gotham...they kinda went over that too...
