Why does it seem socially acceptable for guys to....

men are supposed to spread their seed as much as possible to increase the odds of their offspring surviving, thus keeping their bloodline and species alive

women can't afford to take every seed that comes their way as producing offspring and caring for them is physically taxing on their bodies and requires a significant amount of time (both pregnancy and caring for them until maturity). So they have to be selective and choose the best possible mate to increase the odds of producing a high quality child.
