I'm going to say... I don't know what...
Black is a race, white is a race. We have different bone structures, we look different. Same for Hispanics and Asians. We all look different and we all come from different cultures.
Every culture will have qualms with another's beliefs. Whether they believe whites are the only pure race, or blacks, or purple people.
Racism exists, it always will, even if we're all the same color. There will always be something to differentiate cultures. Want an example? Why do Jamaicans historically hate Haitians? They're both black, yet are racist towards each other (yeah its a generalization, so sue me).
Black isnt a race, neither is white. Human beings are a race, why are people racist if they are all pretty much the same?Film-GuyI do not believe in the race fallacy, though I will not deny that the social construct of race exists and with it racism exists.

Theres a difference between a species and a race:
"an arbitrary classification of modern humans, sometimes, esp. formerly, based on any or a combination of various physical characteristics, as skin color, facial form, or eye shape, and now frequently based on such genetic markers as blood groups."
That does not mean that "the human race" and homo sapiens do not refer to the same thing.Theres a difference between a species and a race:
"an arbitrary classification of modern humans, sometimes, esp. formerly, based on any or a combination of various physical characteristics, as skin color, facial form, or eye shape, and now frequently based on such genetic markers as blood groups."

I dont believe that. Its not human nature to be ignorant. I myself was and never have been ignorant, not even enough to stereotype.
Human nature to hate on an entire race for no good reason? I don't think so. :|It's human nature

White American and Black or African American are races, just like Germans and Italians are considered races. Especially if you are talking about the native blacks and whites. I don't think I'm alone in saying White American is my race and I'm not ashamed of that either, like some people are. This is about the 4th time I've had to explain that my race is real on this board.
And people, races and cultures are not all the same. They also have most loyalty to their race. Which is only natural and I don't feel that is wrong, but many people are told that it is these days.

I don't see how EVERYTHING has to be human nature. If anyone tries to do ANYTHING nice it's bad because they're not being natural. "I'm not going to eat fast food because they treat the chickens poorly", "LOLZ BUT DAT IS LEIK HUMAN NATURE!". We might as well just not have any form of self control, if we think about stabbing our coworkers because we're angry, might as well do it, it's a natural instinct. It's human nature

Yuuup.
I don't think racism doesnt exist, I just think the idea of it is stupid. I can never fully respect a racist no matter who they are.
It does and I've seen it with a friend of mine. He's had some very bad experiences with people from India (he works at a restaurant).. sees them as jerks and a-holes. So he really doesn't like any of em. I sorta understand... but it's tough for him I guess. It's the first time I sorta understood why people judge people by their appearance.

Wait, how is a country a race? Does that make me an Arizonan? Or a Gilbertarian(My town)? How can you say Germans are a race, but now go into more detail, as in, a state/province/region? Just because it's a government body doesn't make it a race.[QUOTE="Film-Guy"][QUOTE="sinistergoggles"][QUOTE="Tuky06"]Your topic title states a complete lie, racism does exist, it's just stupid.sinistergoggles

Call yourself whatever you want. White American is my race and I'd appreciate you not disrespecting me by saying my race doesn't exist. What other race would you have me call myself? I have no allegience to my old European ansestors and my family has been in America for over 200 years and perhaps longer if you consider my grandmother was part Indian.

It's human nature to assign one's self to a group, and then exclude (and sometimes hate) those on the outside. In some cases it is race, in other cases it is nationality, or taste in music etc.
He probably fails to mention all of the Indians he has had average or pleasant encounters with.
I could easily start ranting about all the white people that have ****ed me over in my life and I could use that as an excuse to hate on whites, right? Would that be completely understandable?DeeJayInphinity
Yeah, I guess he does fail to mention this. Racism is sometimes understandable, but it's not acceptable. People have to stop judging people because of this crap. It all makes me very sad.:(

Like im from Texas so people would think im a cowboy or something. Its not a race but ignorant people will associate the stereotype to you.

Forming groups and excluding on the outside IS human nature, it's etched into our psyche. Some people have managed to suppress or eliminate this nature, (ie NOT being racist).

That's true I guess. But to the extent that it occurs a lot to me is just ignorance. Racism in general I guess is natural, but many many many cases are based on poor nuture.Humans are social animals, and they can get very territorial, but it doesn't take much to develop a tolerance for others. Not a good excuse.Forming groups and excluding on the outside IS human nature, it's etched into our psyche. Some people have managed to suppress or eliminate this nature, (ie NOT being racist).

Assuming you are black, what you should be worried about is how rappers denegrate and verbally rape your race. And how you are much more likely to be shot by another black, then have problems like that with any whites. Or does black on black crime not bother you or it's just something else blacks blame whites for?

I'm not saying it's an excuse, it's an explanation. Try paying attention next time.
We live in a modern society and we are expected to regularly suppress perfectly natural urges. For example, I say a hawt chick today, and quite frankly I really wanted to "slam" her. But did I? Of course not, because our modern society has "women's rights" and laws against having sex in the middle of a classroom (I think).
