Why does racism exist?

Because its not a racial slur when blacks say it to each other. When i say whats up my n*gga to my friend who is black i don't mean "you dirty stupid lazy monkey" like some racist would mean, I mean whats up "bro" or "man". Now if white people were to use it, it is not right because you can never tell who has hatred toward black people now days. The n word is a slur racist use toward blacks to offend them and for them to use the n word also to address there friends would be almost a double standard in a way. I cant go around asking every white person "are you a racist? if not then its cool for you to use the n word if you want to". Its just better off not said by white people. Cause if white people using the N word is ever socially acceptable as a greeting toward there white and black friends.....what are the racist white people gonna call the black people when they get mad? From the crime rates to the average white family having a good life. Its kinda like white people have never been in a place where they have struggled in and got out of the hole like blacks or any other race. I have to correct some misconceptions here. The "white" race is made up of quite a lot of different ethnicity's that came to the US hoping for a better life. Many of these ethnicity's were in fact living in abject poverty and struggling. They also dealt with discrimination. There are also very poor white people. As I said....stop separating by race.

My racism mostly started as a rebellion against the downfall of the moral society or even in my self, which I've see celebrated way too often in black culture. And there's more poor whites than poor blacks in America, because it is a majority white society. So, at least an equal amount of whites know what it's like to be poor or homeless, myself for one.

If whites don't celebrate themselves, or like some of the earlier postings said, don't even acknowledge themselves, then this majority white society is doomed to go down the tubes. If we don't show pride in OUR OWN RACE, then how is there any hope for all of us in the future?

In the rush to even things out though reverse discrimination exists. That's why I say we need to stop using race as a divider. As long as that is allowed to occur....racism will exist. Of course, religious discrimination and sexism need to be abolished as well. We need to see people as.....people.

Acknowledge themselves as what? A great race? Why would they do that. That just ignorant and will bring out the racism in people. I don't know where you are but it sounds like those people need a reality check. Hispanics are coming in American rapidly and they will need jobs and homes. White Pride or Black Pride are both stupid. Basically who ever is saying it is saying their race is the best. All cultures had it bad at least one time or another so don't say stuff like "White people have it good" or the other way around.

Look at me i'm Italian and Puerto Rican both cultures have had their problems in the US. Italian-Americans for example had problems in the Early 20th century. Italian immigrants in the early 1900s were subject to extreme prejudice, racism, and many cases violence. They were seen as non-anglo and non-white in the early 1900s. They were also the second most likely ethnic group to get lynched.
