People use the word this way all the time. It's not a matter of logic. Collateral damage, is an euphemism, to cover up the atrocities of war, by making it sound morally justified by avoiding negative terminology like murder, they move the description of events to a more neutral point of view. Collateral damage implies destruction that was not intended, so it's more acceptable in the eyes of the public. It really doesn't matter what anybody calls it, taking the lives of innocent people in military action should never be acceptable. I'm perfectly fine with somebody calling it murder. It's unjustified killing. People are losing their lives for no good reason. To many people that is murder. Regardless of what you or anybody wants to call it to lighten the impact of these causalities.

I agree with this 100% If these so-called warriors were not hiding behind the skirts of their women, we wouldn't wind up killing their women trying to get their cowardly asses. The soldier that just murdered a bunch of innocents will never be a free man again. In fact, under US military law, he will probably get the death penalty. The marines that pissed on the dead taliban were punished.
Kids you know nothing about war or the military. You can be subject to ucmj just for being late to formation a couple times but to listen to the kids here soliders are running wild killing civilians.
