wow aussiepet. this is what people need to hear. Focus on JESUS!! not religion. only Jesus can give you grace not a dogmatic doctrine. I thank you for showing this, very good. I also recommend a book by Donald Miller called Blue Like Jazz. Im reading it right now and its a good book, like the subtitle says its nonreligious thoughts on Christianity.

Yeah. He doesn't. People see a well put together presentation and start fapping immediately. Little of what he says means anything. As said above, AngryAtheist makes some good points, although he could present it a little better.

I don't mind Religion, as long as the person is seeking it and not being forced to abide by a Religion. What that guy says in the video didn't make sense in some parts. He even substitutes "Jesus" for "Christianity" in one part of the video. But then he says he hates Religion  Contradiction much?

I think that you could argue it about Judaism, in that it's often a cultural identity even among those who don't practice it, but are born into it. For Christianity... I don't know how that would work... seems untenable.

Well (some) Christians don't consider Christianity as a religion cause they feel religion is evil (which it is) But just because you worship Jesus doesn't mean you have to be religious.

That just means they aren't Christian, they can still believe and love Jesus. Christianity is still a religion, it's just not the religion those people are a part of. They choose not to be a part of any organised religion, and worship in their own way.

That make sense. But how do the people know Jesus and what he did? Mainly from Christianity. If you worship Jesus then your techincally a christian, just not a devoted christian or a crazy born again christian. So I see your point and I agree.

Yeah i guess u can be labeled as that, but someone can develop a relationship with Jesus with out following a religion , Say if your 13 and you don't know what religionis, but all you know is you want a relationship with God and u want to worship him, (you wouldn't need to be religious ,cause you never heard of it) yeah thats exactly what im trying to say im glad you understood :P

Your argument is fundamentally wrong. The belief in Jesus is Christianity, you can't seperate them. You might not agree with religious institutions but you are still religious if you believe in Jesus.

Those people are very different. They also believe only 144000 people will go to heaven the rest will go to hell. At least I think it's 144000.

Well they can't bc they are still religious. I am Agnostic but I do not have a problem with anyone's belief structure, I am more concerned with people's character, ethics and morality.

Your argument is fundamentally wrong. The belief in Jesus is Christianity, you can't seperate them. You might not agree with religious institutions but you are still religious if you believe in Jesus.

chaoscougar1

Yeah religion is just another word for group of followers, but im saying people use the term in the wrong way , its like the pick which religion they wanna be or life style they want to follow Jesus , When someone say there religious Atheist think ( ohh another crazy person) i feel Christians want to be seperated from that.

A religious atheist....are you on drugs?

Lack of punctuations confused you.

[QUOTE="chilly-chill"] Let me remind you where you are. Frame_Dragger

Okay I'm in the internet, I know there are **** and jackasses in the internet
But I'm asking, why would you want to embrace these characteristics?
Gamespot used to be nice with the strict moderations (Sometimes it would be too much), that's what made it different than the internet
Now, they broke the TOU and this new generation of trolls emerged posting tumblr links :/

It was a time of darkness, when a new Terms of Use blanketed the forum. The fire-mountains which had lain dormant for eons suddenly awoke, and the land was covered with ash and fire. The people wept, each tear carving a sooty furrow down their wretched faces, and they cried for a savior. One man heard their cries and would not accept the new order. This man rose up, and single-handedly began a crusade against the Terms, stood amongst the fires and death as a beacon of hope. This man is JIT, and hearing the cries of a G.I.R.L he donned his flameproof suit and uttered the words that would resonate in the very bones of the world:

I think I might be in love with you...

A religious atheist....are you on drugs?

Isn't that a Jedi?

The day any of those people can actually move things with the force is the day I recognize that "religion"

They're the gifts that keep on giving... just when you think they've gone stale and burned out, it just fires up a tangent and delivers.

You are one of those gifts my good sir!!!

One problem with this. Jesus is a part of Christianity, which is a....RELIGION. How do you separate Jesus from Christianity??

Christianity isn't a religion for some people , believe it or not.

...I really really hope you are joking

He doesn't joke, it just seems that way when you read it out loud. :hah:

That video is a load of crap:

- Jesus didn't come to abolish religion, he preached that he himself was divine, that only through himself you could be saved; THAT is religion.
- He loves the church, he loves the bible, he believe in sin and yet he rejects religion?
- His explanation for religion and Jesus being on 2 different spectrums is meaningless.
- Jesus took what we all deserved: getting beaten and getting nailed to the cross. I really don't think EVERYBODY deserves that.
- How can you actually believe Jesus was thinking about YOU while he was dying on the cross?

How can you actually reject religion if you accept everything about it? This video is like a merketing campaign for Christianity.

Im pretty agnostic/athiest.Remeber when the declaration of independence was written and it said all men are created equal yet america still had slavery and you only had all the rights if you were white and the constitution many bills like the 3/5ths act contradicting "all men are created equal". It was the opisite of what the decleration said. I could say i love martin luther king but i hate america. that sounds contridicting because im saying i love an american but i hate america. The dude in the video is saying the written acts on what jesus did is opisite of what the churches say.Jesus would disaprove off telling people to build the large lavished churches that the vatican shelter in. Im pretty agnostic/athiest

It honestly strikes me as more akin to the developing concept of "Christianity is no religion; it is a personal relationship with God".
