Why is the United States constantly bashed?

First off I'm from the US, and I find it odd that the United States gets made fun of so much. Can somebody explain why? Here's some things I find odd:Two days after the Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004 the United States sent a $300million check to the relief effort. The response was basically: 'What, that's it?'The United States is in so much debt it isn't even funny (go to: http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/ after five seconds click refresh and watch how much it goes up). We're always sending money and all people do is complain, you don't think we could keep it?The United States is ranked 16 on the list of % of people living in poverty. (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poverty_in_the_United_States )I understand that the war is a big controversey, but after Sept 11, when over 3000 people were murdered (remember that?), everybody was pretty much for it. George W. Bush is still fighting because he's standing up for what he believes in. Is that a bad thing? I think not.discuss
