i just thought about this when i saw a guy wearing "smile god loves you" shirt in pizza hut. If god loves us so much, why is he letting us kill our selves? Why isnt god doing anything about the war, we are killing ourselves and fighting and god doesnt do anything. i no god isnt involved in this, and he dint start the war but if he is soo powerfull why doesnt he just stop it. i bet he could stop the war in 1 second or something. bottom line

DOES GOD ENJOY WATCHING US KILL OURSELVES ?

maybe god is evil..

I wouldn't let my loved ones kill themselves.

That said, if they grab a shotgun and blow their brains out, there's about jack**** I can do.

It's just another cheap ass excuse. If he really is all-knowing and almighty, he would have foreseen the consequences of giving us free will.

So what you're saying is that we would be better off without free-will.

Now, I definitely disagree with this.

You still haven't explained what makes it a cheap-ass excuse.

Yes. God has known for all eternity exactly how things would turn out. In a sense we have no free will at all if God knows everything.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather have the freedom to explore the world, learning things and seeing great sights, than being couped up in a room for my own safety. Suffering be damned. The only way I'll get closer to God is by growing spiritually, and I'm sure God realizes this. This explains why I'm not kept in a line like a steer in a herd cattle and made to be content with captivity.

And there you have free will.

I see as either these 2 explanations:

1) God does not exist

2) God is just an entity that began existence and does not or isn't capable of tampering with our existence

For the love of GOD!
Why the hell did he create us for?! He gave us life and let us choose our own destiny. If we get ourself into a mess, then we have to get ourself out of it too. God is not our personal slave, correcting every mistake we make.

i just thought about this when i saw a guy wearing "smile god loves you" shirt in pizza hut. If god loves us so much, why is he letting us kill our selves? Why isnt god doing anything about the war, we are killing ourselves and fighting and god doesnt do anything. i no god isnt involved in this, and he dint start the war but if he is soo powerfull why doesnt he just stop it. i bet he could stop the war in 1 second or something. bottom line

there were wars even when almost everybody believed in god. Infact, in the bible god even took part in a few of them, killing people with big chunks of ice and such.

but yeah, 85% of the worlds population believes in some sort of god. is that not enough for him? He's a very needy guy if that is the case...

Come on guys, do you think such an all powerful being able to create our existence would have simply human characteristics such as "evil"? No, if there is a god, god is probably just an entity that just created existence. Nothing else. God probably does not effect our universe in any way, god does not tamper with us. God just created this universe and let things fall into place...

Now, I definitely disagree with this.

You still haven't explained what makes it a cheap-ass excuse.

Yes I have, if God created us knowing that so many people would suffer, I'd say he's evil...or at least apathetic.

You're a part of the lucky 10% who can actually realize such wishes. The vast majority of human's don't live in the western world. Their lives are basically like this:

Born--work--work--work--work--Die

Could you clarify your point? Who are you refering to?

Could you please come with a proper argument?

I'm saying that the vast majority of humans can't realize the positive sides of free will, and that their lives consists of work and struggle.

Actually, life as a whole is a struggle, I fail to see why God would want to create such a world filled with suffering. For example, why the hell would he create a world with limited resources?

Well basically because "he" isn't real..... But that's such a complicated conclusion that half the people don't get it and deny it and are like "Oh he just wants us to work out our own problems.. and kill the jews"... LOL Seriously...People are crazy. [Yeah I went to a church once where the preacher talked bad about jews for an hour, and spent the second hour explaining how our community was being overrun with muslims and unless they were converted they'd start suicide bombing our schools..... I was an atheist then, but my grandmother asked me to go with her, so I couldn't deny....After that I flat out told her I was atheist and would never go with her to church again, and now she (after saying she loves me) reminds me I'm going to hell....

Explain how it is BS.

It's just another cheap ass excuse. If he really is all-knowing and almighty, he would have foreseen the consequences of giving us free will.

So what you're saying is that we would be better off without free-will.

Now, I definitely disagree with this.

Are you implying that work and struggle isn't a form of growth?

What do you mean by limited recourses? Are you refering to gasoline, which we have several alternatives for? How is that related to struggle? Are you talking about the workers?

You're being really vague.

One of the downsides to free will is stupidity.

Which, to me, is not much of a basis for choosing a philosophy. Just sayin'....

that's right, call the people you don't agree with crazy.

and btw, much more than half the population (world) has religious beliefs. so approximately 80% of the world "doesn't get it".
