[QUOTE="mark4091"] [QUOTE="Staryoshi87"]Well, Canadians would reap a few key benefits.... mainly more expensive, but much higher quality health care. They wouldn't be able to do as many drugs or harbor as many terrorists though.... Although Quebec would have to be excluded from the deal.... they just aren't cool enough. From what I've seen of America Jr., it's pretty similar as it is... so the transition wouldn't be too harsh ;)Staryoshi87
Honestly, lets not get into health care ok, because we like our system and it works, we don't need you saying yours is better.
The grass is always greener. You can like it all you want... more power to you I spose. Just remember there is a reason why Canadians often come here for health-issues and not the other way around.... On a side note... http://www.theonion.com/content/video/breaking_news_all_online_data
The only people from Canada that go to the US for health issues are people who don't want to wait and don't care about paying a pissload of money to get an operation done right away. Which is a tad ridiculous because most of the time you don't wait anywhere near as long as any waiting lists would have you believe. And why would Americans go to Canada for health issues? That would likely end up costing them more in the end.
As for the quality of health care in each country, I would say they are pretty much equal. However, there is no incentive for doctors in Canada to only partially fix you up, so you have to come back again in the near future, dropping more money into their pockets. There's also a chance that doctors in the US might say there is more wrong with you than what actually is, which would also bring in more money.
Anyways, there is no way that there would be a merger. Far too many Canadians would be against it. If the two were to be combined in the future, it would only be as a result of a military takeover. And that would go so well with the rest of the world.
