Its funny really.. That Obama is seen as such a figure, when the Bush adminstration wasn't treated the same way.. Even though they passed (though Obama still supports which I am extremely critical of) the Patriot Act, and allowed the use of torture.. To me it smacks of hypocrisy.

Speaking as an outsider, I'd say this guy has a very "traditional" view of what the US should be - big, bold and unapologetic. The Americans aren't the first to be like that, leading powers throughout history, such as the British, did exactly the same thing.

But countries can't go around like that any more - You've got to make friends, you've got to acknowledge that once in a while the nation's government gets it wrong. This is especially true when other countries are beginning to catch up economically and militarily to give you the advantage of humility or humanitarianism (e.g. compared to China).

This man raises points worth saying, but we're not in 1945 any more.

Im sorry but im glad the elderly like this man will soon be gone from this earth.. The brain stops developing past age 70 and that point these people just count down the days to die.. I have no respect for this windbag. I dont care if he served this country or not, i have 0 respect for him.

How was he "brave" He pretty much just wrote a mess of fox news talking points ver batim, nothing original. "You go around telling other nations that we are no longer a Christian nation" and hes mad about Obama when he bows but he makes no mention of when Bush held the hands of the saudia arabian prince or when Nixon bowed to the leader that ordered the bombing of the pearl harbor!

he sounds like another tea party old bag type that just cant stomach the idea of a black man in office. infact i would have more respect for the old fool if he just came right out and said "Dear mr President, im 94 years old and i dont think a black man should be president" he atleast would have been honest.

Doubtful. While I understand that Obama does read a selection of e-mails/letters each day (I think the number is around 10), so it's possible, but not likely.

Why should someone be amune from commentary/criticism/jabs just because they're elderly? Being elderly gets you certain priviliges, discounts at the buffett, for example, but automatic deferrance is not one of them.

Yes, he's technically half-white. Why does this matter to you? You have no stake in what race the President identifies as. Again, why does the man get a pass just because he is elderly?

Actually considering how old he is and how much he has experienced being in the military that long, plus all of the things he has seen happened in his lifetime, I would say his opinion is more worthy than some 20 year old fatty who sits on the computer all day, jobless and doing nothing with his life (or someone similar to that). People who haven't seen sh*t in the world think they know everything, when they really don't.

I didn't vote for Pres Obama. But he is the President and CiC of the US. I may not agree with him in many aspects. But, I do respect the rank. That means I'll keep personal insults in check and give him the benefit of the doubt. Come 2012, I'll show what I think of him. If we're still in the crapper, out he goes. If by chance he does turn this country around for the better, I may even vote for him.

It's just like Clinton. I didn't vote for him the first time. But, he did a decent job during his first term. So, I voted for that two-timing b****** in 1996. Same goes here in the present. We'll see.
