G4 is full of ****. This game won't be longer than 20 hours - and if it were - it definitely would be overstaying its welcome. LOL! So in other words, you're saying that the game isn't longer than 20 hours even though G4 says that it is. BUT if they actually are correct then the game will suck because 20 hours is too long in your opinion even though you haven't even played the game yet. That's what I would call... a no win situation.[QUOTE="Charles_Dickens"]
This quotation is from G4:
"Of course for the game to actually herald a sense of reprieve it also needs to overcome a legacy of 15 years worth of appalling interactive adaptations of the Dark Knight. Given the amount of game available on the disk(the first 25% of the game clocking in at around 6-7 hours), I'm confident to say that Arkham Asylum is not only on track to be a solid game but may very well reset the bar on what to expect from a superhero title."
So if it took them 7 hours to complete the first quarter of the game, then the computation is a simple one: 7 times 4 = 28 hours.

'Hi, movie fans! This is Attirex with my latest movie review...'District 9!' Let me start my review by saying that a) I didn't actually watch the movie and b) the movie sucks. Now, hold on, there, everybody! Before you get all up in arms with 'WTF, how can you review a movie without having actually watched it," lemme just say that I am a MOVIE EXPERT. I have watched DOZENS of sci-fi movies that are JUST LIKE 'District 9' (well, at least that's what people tell me, since I haven't actually watched 'District 9'), and based on my WEALTH OF MOVIE WATCHING EXPERIENCE, I can tell you already that the movie....sucks. So there you have it! My review of 'District 9'.After playing many Batman games in the past, from watching demo gameplay videos it looks just like another Batman game I've already played. Linear levels with the same old mash em up'. Visually the game looks fantastic, however the gameplay indeed detracts me. I certainly can understand why some gamers are excited for this, but I'm passing on this one. Next stop World Dominance from the outer galatics.

Definitely compatible with NVIDIA cards, 8800 series and above I think...Just wondering is PhysX just compatible with NVIDA cards? Or does it work with ATI cards also?

yah, just nvidia or an actual ageia card.Im not downloading the demo, too big.I'll wait until the game comes out and hear the reviews i think.

[QUOTE="OoSuperMarioO"]So you still haven't actually played it? If you actually watched the videos carefully you would know that the stealth elements are the most significant element of the game play, not just the same ol' mashe em up. They had stealth in the LAST Batman game, lol... Not paying $49.99 for another Batman beat em up' or in my own words to express this game "Cinematic Beat Em Up". Though I do welcome you to enjoy your first Batman game bud. After playing many Batman games in the past, from watching demo gameplay videos it looks just like another Batman game I've already played. Though I do welcome you to enjoy your first Batman game bud. Wasn't the last Batman game Batman Begins? I'm pretty sure the stealth in that was the equivalent of pushing a button at a set time. No exaggeration. I can assure you that this game will be far sophisticated than that, offering AI that is extremely reactive to your actions, like panicking when their allies are taken away by you. From what others have told me as well, this is the first Batman game to make you feel like the dark knight.[QUOTE="biggest_loser"][QUOTE="OoSuperMarioO"]

So does it work with ATI also? My card is a HD4850 I'm wondering if PhysX is a NVDIA exclusive graphic feature.
This was by far the best Batman game ever made.... however.... it just wasn't enough for me to gobuy. I was super hyped from all the trailers and screenshots, but after the demo, it was good, but not enough to buy. I will definetly be renting it though and try to beat it.

There was talk at one point of bringing support to ATI cards, in fact with driver assistance from Nvidia, but it appears that never materialized. At this point it appears Nvidia is planning on disabling Physx entirely on detection of an ATI card Nvidia disables PhysX when ATI card is present(edit: scenario where an Nvidia card is being used for physx and an ATI card for graphics for example) --- certainly not holding my breath for ATI support ;)
Yeah, there was a $5 off code at Amazon which brought Batman: AA down to around $39 --- I preordered.

Good to see you're getting in early!!I've actually had this game reserved since February when I brought FEAR 2 Project Origin. The delays were aggravating but the end is near!!! Together, we shall go to the batcave! =D *plays 60's theme song from Batman!* spiderman120988Spiderman's buying Batman. Okay.

ahaha
i loved the demo =] this game has everything that i like: stealth action, some puzzle solving, great fighting (counter system reminds me of Assassin's Creed a bit), great voice acting, good dialogs (joker is just sooo damn funny with his comments) and, ofcourse, BATMAN xD I pre-ordered it 2 days ago, now i can't wait till sept 18th =]
Pros:
-Great graphics.
-Impressive art direction.
-Superb audio.
-Runs great/good performance.
Cons:
-Very easy game that is absence of a challenge.
-Combat while satisfying in some situations can also be a complete joke with just how easy it is.
-Rubbish A.I.
-Stealth action feels like a lesser Splinter Cell game, and in some cases feel as if it was stripped right out of a Splinter Cell game.
-Ragdolls are very strange.
-Extremely linear.
I'm all for having demos available, but to pay for Batman:AA at a retail price of $50 will be absolute absurd.
Well I'll be damned! It took me a night to download the 2GB demo and it's worth 5-10 minutes of demonstration. So short :( but I guess it's their way of saying "You want the full slice? Wait till September!"
I was impressed with the graphics, really superb and also the optimization is great! I never seen a game look so good run so smooth especially with the Physx ( damn I love the destructable pillar and the floor, not to mention the paper on the floor ). I would most probably get it but I want to wait it a little after the first week it releases to see if there's any sort of extra content that would convince me to buy it at it's current price.
I like the demo... and my friends tell me the console version rocks, so i'll pick it up. I haven't bought a game in a while and i think this one is worth it.
The controls for the 360 controller are tight. And so are the keyboard/mouse controls. What does that say about this game. It's difficult to find fault with the demo anywhere. It's a day one for me. So roughly 3 weeks to go now. Three LONG weeks, that is.
I just wish I had this game for the labour day weekend.
Very briefly I toyed with the idea of buying this for the 360 - but I want the full experience, and the 360 version, in comparison with the PC version, is just so inferior.
You've decided its easy and linear from playing a 5 minute demo?Pros:

[QUOTE="OoSuperMarioO"]You've decided its easy and linear from playing a 5 minute demo?I sure hope the retail game offers much higher difficulty settings for a challenge unlike the demo. You can essentially just bind the basic functions on mouse buttons and successfully get through the demo with only using your mouse, it's that easy. As expected from playing Batman games in the past the demo was indeed very linear.Pros:

The 360 owners are saying that the fighting can get pretty difficult - what we're seeing in the demo is the newb area, which is deliberately easy, of course.

I think you are just looking for a reason to rubbish it if you're expecting something more open from a demo. And from what I have read in the retail version there is more variation, including enemies with assault rifles and tasers, the ability to shoot the gargoyles etc, along with boss fights etc. Did you play it on the highest setting? Its funny cause GS said specifically that the game was the right challenge, not too easy or too hard. The demo was linear as I stated earlier. GS reviews are not targeted for me, I am a hardcore Gamer.

Well I think the average scores for the console versions are actually higher than the GS review...go figure..No, but I don't depend on GS reviews to give me significant information I need to buy my games, rather I will prefer friends and gaming communities to contribute my decisions.

To be honest, I will personally just buy Jim Lee versions of The Dark Knight comics which are marvelous!
