So much for Dice giving us the true sequel to battlefield 2 :(
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Whats the point of making battlefield 3 then? Im wondering if it will actually still be pc focused. I actually found the pc version of bad company 2 somewhat different on pc, except the small maps. We will see.
It was quite obvious it was going to be multiplatform, Bf2 probably cost more than bc2 to produce and was a better game, but it did not make the same profits as BC2 simply because it wasn't multiplatform. Even if DICE was willing to give up those profits and take the extra time to make a game with mod support, map making and tons of maps, vehicles and weapons etc; EA sure has hell wouldn't.
As long as the PC is the lead platform i don't care. BC2 was pretty good but the maps were a bit small, I hope they return to the huge maps and large player counts of the earlier battlefield games.
Because all versions of MoH are coming with a BF3 beta

Ahhh OK. Let's hope they give PC users a good, mod-able version of the game. If not than I won't be buying it, we get so many War FPS games nowadays.
Me too lad.As long as the PC is the lead platform i don't care. BC2 was pretty good but the maps were a bit small, I hope they return to the huge maps and large player counts of the earlier battlefield games.

indeed, BC 2 was good but it wasn't a real BF, again RIP Battlefield we loved :(RIP Battlefield series, it was fun while it lasted.

We know everything we need to know (except if it has modding tools), it's on Frostbite (console engine) and it's multiplatform, gameplay can't be different from BC 2 and BC 2 is no "Battlefield", BC 2 is just a console spin-off.It's time to RAGE ABOUT A GAME I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!

It also has no dedicated servers and only 8 players. Also they'll sell BC2 maps as DLC, 15 dollars for three maps.
ARE YOU READY TO UNLEASH THE ****** FURY OF CAPS LOCK????
In all honesty I don't blame them for going multi-platform...I mean they don't make games just for fun, and consoles is where the REAL money is at these days especially since PC's are piracy ready out of the box.
I guess providing the game supports mods then we can create epic maps like Wake Island and such. Also dont forget DICE are very good developers and they do treat us PC gamers better than most other developers.
Agreed, We know nothing about the exact details of BF3 yet. It's time to RAGE ABOUT A GAME I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!

Now I have to buy that terrible "I am having an identity crisis" Medal of Honor game...gah!

Me too man, me too. Usually I could careless, but it is different this time. I mean BC2 made a killing on PC, why not give us a treat and give us a real freaking BF game.NOOOOO! Ugh damn it. I don't want to accept this news.

It was designed for consoles exclusively, it has certain gameplay features implemented into it, there are no lame excuses for lack of prone and the general way of moving, interacting, etc, it was simply designed like that because it would benefit consoles more if it would get less commands. It's fun but it's clearly a console port and no Baranga, they'll release a beta that lacks content, releasing the full content in so called free map packs, when there really are no maps, like they're somehow doing us a favor, fixing the game at the same time, releasing 5-6$ or w/e skin packs and a map pack for 30$ if not more with 4 maps new weapons and a few vehicles (they'll never go under 30$ with Vietnam). Console port examples (that were designed for consoles first) Far Cry 2 Borderlands MW 2 (compare it to MW, the way it feels/works) etc PC games are solid, console games that get ported to PC feel awkward, floaty and stiff. It's time to RAGE ABOUT A GAME I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!

And there goes any high expectations I had for BF3. Don't get me wrong, I like BF2:BC, but it doesn't really play like BF or BF2. I want huge open maps with tons of players, not small maps that funnel everyone into chokepoints. It may turn out to be a fun game, but I have a feeling it won't really feel like a true BF game. The lack of RAM on consoles all but ensures DICE will have to make concessions that will hurt the PC experience. Not to mention the concessions that will once again have to be made for the people using controllers instead of KB/M.
*Trying to see some silver lining here*
Do you remember in BF2 how you could have different size maps to play on (16, 32, 64 player max)? Perhaps the console version will only get the smaller size maps and PC will have the choice of the larger ones (though hopefully 128 & 256 are the bigger ones). And maybe there will be two different control sets for controller and one for KB/M, oh wait, NVM, I am dreaming again.

No please keep going, I started gaining hope lol.Yeah, Battlefield = officially dead now. Sure BC2 is fun, but its no BF2 or BF2142.

Agreed. I kind of liked BC2 at first, but it doesn't hold me as BF2 did. I played that game forever.
Why the hell have you only made 68 posts on this forum...we need more optimistic PC gamers like you on this forum.*Trying to see some silver lining here*

I don't usually do this, but this really irks me. Think about what this phrase means please.
Also, sad news on BF3. I was really hoping it would follow in the footsteps of BF2, my favourite and most played FPS.

Its a well known phrase and people use it all of the time. I understand what I am actually saying, is it a big deal. Are you my Enlgish teacher, I think not.I will cling to that hope as well...at least until EA/DICE make an official announcement :P*Trying to see some silver lining here*

Woot BC3!!!111!1
Yea, F U Dice.
Won't be buying this one. Should of been an PC only.
BF3? Nope its BC3.
Thanks for stabbing us in the back just like IW.
Ridiculous. What made BF2 such a great game was that it was PC exclusive, they tailored it especially for the PC. Going multi-plat must mean DICE is hurting for money or EA has given them an ultimatum. Such a disappointing announcement...Lord_DoDo56Or they're greedy.
