Benchmark Thread - How do you rank against other GS users?

Got a new single GPU score, tried to hit 8k, but I guess I might have possibly hit my limit. ;)

Fire Strike score: 7955(Single GPU) - Link for Proof

2500k@5.1GHz, HD7950 @ 1230/1750, Memory 1600MHz

Maybe I'm limited on my PSU when I run both GPU's at higher clocks and the CPU OC'd as well. It's rated pretty high, but I could be pushing more power than it can handle. I could be wrong and maybe I just hit  my wall on overclocks.

Installed the new 320.14 drivers and ran 3DMark again just for the heck of it. Scores were a bit better, but that's probably due more to variance between benchmark runs rather than actual driver improvements. Here it is anyways.

Yeah, mine improved slightly as well.

I can't be bothered to repost scores until acanofcoke upgrades and gives me a run for my money though.  :P  Lol.

Did you run the benchmark with your fan at 85%? I found that helped me get a few more Mhz out of it.

Hm I guess with the memory you hit error correction. If Nvidia has that, anyway (I know the AMD cards do).

well i was hoping you titan owners wouldn't go through the effort.  Anyhow congrats you are now the single card KING of gamespot.  The only people who can challenge you at this point is another titan owner OR someone with a highly overclockable 7970 (1300mhz + on core, which is rare)

Ýeah, it is a bit low...almost all of the 3570K physics scores were double of mine, yet their graphics scores were sometimes even lower than mine, but still they scored overall higher.

I also noticed that in newer games the FPS increase from my CPU to a OC 3570K is around 10-20 FPS (based on the game and it's need for better CPU's).

And the price of the 1440P monitors seems offputing unless I want to take my chances and go with the Korean monitors. For 600$-700$ I can buy another 7950 and a 3570K and I would still have some more money to spend.

I think the best solution is to wait for Haswell and then upgrade my MOBO+CPU and be set for 2-3 years on that part.

I'm gonna flash a custom BIOS to my Titans to try out more volts.  I'm gonna go with 1.2125V, see what that does, and raise the draconian Power Target limit as well.

EDIT - Well this is doing a whole lot of nothing!  :P  I think that the factory-allowed overvoltage on these cards is more than plenty tbh.

Well, while disappointed with the BIOS I was trying at first, I did end up getting a VERY nice gain.  :)

Took lots of careful tweaking of core vs. memory clocks, but I ended up with this:

It did read my CPU correctly that time (4.7 GHz), but not the GPUs as usual.

GPUs were @ (1189|1173)/6732/1.2125V

Here is a pic:

Precision doesn't keep up with that many decimal places on volts, and doesn't round up.

ocd my 3770k to 4.2ghz.  All I did was change the multiplier from 35 to 42 and disabled intel auto boost.  Im not even sure thats the correct way to overclock the cpu, as I didn't change any of the RAM clocks/timings,  Cpu over clocking is so damn complicated, much harder than gpu overclocking.

not 24/7, only for the benchmark, no real reason to run it 24/7 like that and shorten lifespan when the stock is already damn fast.  If I increase volts, then im guessing temps will also go up and as I only have the stock cooler to work with, that will also cause me problems.

Anyways was the stuff I did the right way to overclock the ivybridge cpus?  Just change the multiplier and save and exit bios?  Is that all there is to it?
