Yep, without the Origin overlay and lower FoV it works perfectly fine on ultra, might actually play some rounds on the B2K maps sooner or later.DanielDust

They'll just have to get used it. My new catch-phrase when I meet whiners online will be "Deal with it".

The only thing I really agree with the whiners is the lack of VoiP and squad communication functions. I even miss the commander.

Yes I completely agree. The lack of VoIP disappoints me. Everyone I talk to says the exact same thing. You think they would listen to their fans and consumers. Why they don't implement this feature annoys me.

[QUOTE="AdamPA1006"]Downloading now, will hopefully have time to try it out tonight. All I want is improved performance and hit detection/lagultrapc
That hasn't been fixed , I played on servers where my ping was less than 30 and the hit detection still sucked .

ffs. no reason to play again, then.

It's too early for me to make judgements on the balance at the moment. I will say I thought the balance pre patch was perfectly acceptable. Making the tanks weaker will do a few things for the action. Tanks will be slower creeping forward, stay out of highly trafficked infantry areas and be more cautious. They will probably focus more on tanks since they are quick to take down, slower repair now. From the bits I played, people treated tanks as normal, they would go into placecs like the forrest or hilltop on caspian and be disabled very very quickly. Then they would jump out and run away as the tank burned.

Stinger is shortish range but hits choppers well, even after they deploy ECM and sometimes flares... Although if they are low in the sky the stealth thing seems to work really well. Pretty much impossible to hit jets with it though, they move out of range so quickly.

Suppression is a big change, a lot more of it now. So in a 1 v 1 mid range battle it is going to last longer as both players are suppressed and missing each other. Probably not going to be great for TDM, more people will use the SQD cover perk though, virtually no reason to use that before.

About the only changes I can say that is good is the squad command binded to commo rose, not quick spot button (spot a guy near a flag and you give orders previously) and the mini map you can now pick sattelite view. The rest are just changes that I don't think were necessary but people will need to adapt to.

Real quick question: Did the patch add any kind of offline practice mode?

People love to whine and cry about every little thing in multiplayer games. Instead of adapting to things, they cry until the devs are forced to make changes and when they finally do, they're not happy either because now they have to adapt to the new things.

Two rounds down and I like the improvements. The guns are a lot more difficult to handle. I find myself being a little more hesitant to hold the trigger.

No. I don't have much of an opinion on the game one way or the other. But instead of starting an internet fight with me, could you just answer my question about whether or not the patch added an offline practice mode? Thanks.

Never saw your question, just that stupid post that was clearly aimed at people who actually like the game. And no, there is no offline practice mode.

So, anti-air has been nerfed and tanks are even more useless?

Not gonna bother reinstalling the game to check it out. I'm already angry just reading about it.

with_teeth26

I'm hearing a lot of mixed things.

Apparently the tanks just play differently now and the anti-air is a bit more difficult to use, but apparently a lot of the whining comes from people who do nothing but tank or fly.

I wouldn't just skip it because of what some whiners are flooding the forum with.

I'll skip it because the game infuriates me for no good reason and I doubt this patch will change that.

Yeah, DICE goes ahead and improves the graphics, audio, physics, overhauls the attachment system and movement all in one patch and then they do something completely inexplicable like increasing the effectiveness of suppression  I know what you mean, things like situations where the player feels helpless, and really that comes from design issues, and will probably remain in some form, however you can't let the few times you get frustrated ruin your entire gaming experience. The game overall controls much better and the netcode has improved significantly, I think there's less "BS" situations in 1.04 than what we saw with 1.03.

[QUOTE="kris9031998"]EA, you f**king idiots. We can now pay to unlock all the items.. Wasdie

Confirmed: Next Battlefield having a monthly-fee

That's one hell of conclusion.

You could buy the weapons in BC2, or do you not remember that?

Are you talking about the worthless DLC for outfits and weapons? No one cared about that. With BF3, you can unlock EVERYTHING. What's the point of earning items when the next guy will just start with all weapons unlocked. Take out all the rewarding factors out of the game why don't ya.

Well to be fair, the price is ridiculous so I doubt there will be many takers. It would cost me much more than I paid for the whole game.

I disagree with all the QQ, the vast majority of good players already had everything unlocked within the first week or so, and if they could enjoy all the unlocks for so long while also being the most proficient at using them, then what's the big deal with most likely bad players spending money to get what can easily be obtained in game? By definition the people who buy the unlocks aren't nearly as "over powered" or what have you as the guys who got the unlocks early on by playing well, so what's the big problem? /QQ

My problem isn't with players using whatever weapons they can on me.. because they will do it anyway. It's not about having an advantage or disadvantage. My problem with it is, it diminishes the quality of the game and its integrity. They should be earned, not purchased. So I don't think you understood what I initially meant, or perhaps, I worded it wrong. So that's where I have a problem with it. I don't think that's hard to understand.

Diminishes quality/integrity? How so? Because now the guy you keep flanking around and knifing is using the same loadout as you :P? This is the franchise for which the term "statpadding" was invented, integrity was thrown out the window back in 1942.

The new way suppression works has pretty much ruined the game for me. If anyone shoots you within 10 meters, then your suppressed, which will in turn screw up your accuracy and recoil. Im under suppressed fire about 95% of the time now.

Also Tanks are coffins on wheels now. 1 Jav = roughly 80% damage. 2 RPGs = DEAD.

Heat seekers are broken, which is a bug AFAIK but it makes maps with lots of air vehicles impossible to play on.

So tanks explode easier, ground AA weapons have range of an arms length, and jets are on flies-mode, weaker power but last longer? Are the focus shifted to infantries now? The unlocked kit seems nice, some just like to enjoy the game to at its full potential. The price is crazy though, and yet people still complain how the kit will undermine their "hard work" (what bf3 is work now?) or integrity ( why not let people enjoy the unlocks for those who have little time) .

Yeah, the stinger takes much longer to lock on now. But supposedly, once locked on, the release time of the rocket is "slightly" faster. Like less than a second, faster. In the tenths.

Below radar now breaks stinger/igla locks which is the case for any aircraft. The game isn't "infantry focused" but rather for most maps now it's about treating vehicles as valuable assets that are there to support the infantry in a way that makes sense for a multiplayer combined arms FPS.

like you input Zubiuien, the fact that grip now reduced aimed accuracy makes it a unwanted attachement for mah AG3, will go for holosight, bipod and flashsuppressor then :D

It seems that the heavy barrel is generally preferable on most weapons in the long run for the G3A3, AN-94, M16, L85A2, and Scar-H although if you're "middle of the road" gun skill wise flash suppressor will be better, on air maps regardless of your aiming ability you want the heavy barrel since it increases the distance for minimum damage by 50% which means at close-mid range you'll be doing more damage with the heavy barrel(and it's the only tertiary attachment that increases aimed accuracy) while your bullets will also fire faster meaning you don't have to lead targets as much.

I feel that I am quite good with the AN94, but struggle with the G3A3, so I guess flash suppressor will be my best option to get the hang of my loved rifle. Used it while I was in the army, even had a 40mm for it, weighed about 3-4 kg with a full clip :D

Played some last night, had a lot of fun. I love the new suppression mechanics, it actually works how I always thought it was supposed to be intended. I really don't know why people complain so much about this patch.

Last night I saw so many people stop when they were getting shot at and try to shoot back. That used to work before the patch and now it just gets you killed. I think that a lot of people think that them not being able to pick off people while under fire removed the "skill" from this game.

In other news the Battlelog forums have gone from bad to worse. It's kind of sad there. So many kids unable to comprehend different gameplay mechanics.

No. I don't have much of an opinion on the game one way or the other. But instead of starting an internet fight with me, could you just answer my question about whether or not the patch added an offline practice mode? Thanks.

xLittlekillx

Never saw your question, just that stupid post that was clearly aimed at people who actually like the game. And no, there is no offline practice mode.

Thanks for the answer. And the post was aimed at butthole shining fanboys who jump on everybody who has a complaint.

It's one thing to have a complaint, it's another to be like the Battlelog forums.

There is a good reason the developers don't even go there to get feedback.

They are so unwilling to adapt. They complained before cos they sucked and then when they got decent at it the gameplay changes again. They're just whiners.

I think the patch changed a lot about the feel of the game. My shots aren't as accurate as before and I have to think and assess a bit more which I love. I think if you get good at this type of controls then you will be mowing guys down very fast. I even noticed other guys unable to hit me as good as before.

Game is far more balanced and fun to play. I also survived much longer in a jet too without constant lock on beeps

I think jets got to much of a buff and tanks to to much of a nerf, but the infantry play is solid. I had no problem with the suppression at all.

People keep saying it leeches skill out of the game, but this game has always been a "who sees who first" kind of game. Especially all of the people playing hardcore.

The commuinty doesn't know what it wants. It doesn't want the game like CoD, but they want laser accurate rifles, no recoil, no suppression, and more cheap tactics like claymores and grenade launchers. Bascially they say one thing and whine about another.

anybody know if this patch improves crossfire performance? i can barely stay above 60fps on any setting. that paired with microstutter is unbearable. i'm fixing to sell these cards (perfect condition, pretty cheap) if the answer to my question is no.

They just want like you said, weapons that require no skill to use for cheap kills because most can't get them any other way in head to head infantry combat. They rely on hanging back with mortars, using AT mines or planting cheap claymores

Not dropping Medkits/Ammoboxes/Not repair... Yesterday at night my friend and I were working on unlocking the L85Awhatever it is (the 5 SQDM win one) and I was driving the APC killing everything, right? Right. SO squads were messed up so we had 8 people in our squad, 5 of them were engi, 3 of those were using my APC as cover.. NOT A SINGLE ONE repaired me. None of them, Pissed me off royally. They just kept running back, using their RPG/SMAWs to kill infantry.

I was going for the L85A2 last night as well. Gotta get it before they fix the no-recoil bug. :P

This is the server we used. http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/servers/show/0d88fe59-87be-4620-b8c7-b1eeb1999c25/SLKRS-SQDM-B2K-Low-Tickets/

It's low ticket (25) so rounds will fly. You won't win them all, but within 10-12 rounds, you should be able to unlock it. I needed 5 wins, got them all in less than an hour. My squad was full of idiots even.

Happens to me all the time. A squad of medics. I revive and heal EVERYONE on my team but when I'm in need they are nowhere to be seen. Standing next to me shooting and healing themselves. But never reviving me or healing me unless it's a by-product of healing themselves.

Pisses me off
