Love how a games not out yet and people put it down..From what im hearing from beta its fun as heck..Guess your not a star wars fan ah well..Cant please every one..
Id have to go with dragon age 2..What a let down from the first game..No customization lack of dungeon they all look the same..Watered down from the first game..Shame dont even want to finish the game..Ive finished almost every game this gen..Including going back and finishing gta 4...
Crysis 2? biggest flop? I know that it's not very popular here, but it wasn't received that bad at all, I think people must have had to high expectations..I'd say Brink that game looked like it was going to be special (it was, only poorly executed special)
Although I do respect other people's opinion, to all the people saying DA2 was a flop, that's your own personal opinon. Was DA2 flawed? Yes it was, but that's not to say I didn't enjoy it. I still thought it was a great game, and I don't regret my purchase. And the fact that it's NOT A FLOP. To some people's opinion, yes they didn't like it, but Dead Space 2, Dragon Age 2, and Crysis 2 all sold over 2 million units. That's not a flop, those are some very good numbers. Gamerperson33Well most people here don't want to read what the title actually means, they didn't read "what game flopped", they read "what game you didn't like this year".
Hold on. I'm sure they released a statement about the negative reviews hurting Duke's sales...Gearbox/2K laughed their way to the bank, so it isnt exactly a 'flop'.
I'd say Brink too.

DNF big time.
I suspected DA2 would have been terrible ever since Laidlaw first stated they would change the combat to more action oriented. Then the "Well, you press a button, and something cool happens!" dropped and I went oh bioware what the **** are you doing with the origins sequel...good thing it was *not* a sequel but a parallel story. It wasn't really a flop for me.
The same with Crysis 2. "Streamlining" the best features of a PC centric game + multiplat title = atomic failure, period. At least they did admit it was their mistake and didn't just go ahead and give all the blame to the community like Epic did back in 2007.
With the major backlash from fans altough "love" from paid reviewing outlets(Like PC gamer that called it the RPG of the decade, hardi har har), DA2.
I can't say Duke Nukem Forever or Brink, because I don't blieve that anyone really thought those would be great games. And Crysis is still decent among a lot of other FPS.
may i ask what flopped or didnt go well for EPIC GAMES back in 2007 ? gears of war or unreal tournament 3 ?????DNF big time.

among the games i played this year i would say the biggest disappointment was DRAGON AGE 2, IMO i disagree that crysis 2 was terrible, its storyline was much better than crysis 1, though crysis 2 lacked open world freedom/mechanics like in the 1st game, it makes up by setting up a good & engaging plot & allowing us to combat better looking/designed/modeled aliens - i hated the alien creature design in the 1st game and the first game lost its hold on me once the aliens came out of hiding. silly octopus design :P
I'd say brink over DNF, DNF had a single player mode, (which like it or not, there are still several people who get enjoyment out of it)
Brink on the other hand is a multiplayer focused game, that has hardly anyone playing it anymore even just a few months after its release.
Not SWTOR, first of all, it hasn't even launched, secondly the Beta was widely enjoyed.. So saying it will be the biggest "flop" this year, is merely just hopeful thinking.. Why would you want a game to fail? Seems selfish!
Duke Nukem forsure, if MW3 is as horrible as MW2 then that could be up there to at the end of the years, well seee.
Cant belive peopel are listing Brink, that game was alot of fun. And the Witcher2?? Flop? That game is the best rpg since Baldurs Gate 2 imo.
I can understand not enjoying a few aspects of the game but overall flop of the year? wow, I am speechelss.

UT3.
Everything that could have been done wrong, was done wrong. It must have been embarassing for the developers to read the feedback, and even more embarassing to know what their PR branch did.

whew!!!thanks for telling me this :) i didnt know that the game was bad & i almost ended up buying it cause thats one of the few MP games my friends playWow...I guess everyone has their own opinions about what a "flop" is but I wouldn't consider DA2 or Crysis 2 a flop. They where both fun games in their own right, they just didn't live up to the series name. Seems like people on this site just get really butt hurt when games change from a PC focus to a more console focus. IMO a flop is a game that looked great and was hyped up, then was just terrible. I'm tempted to pick DNF but the game looked like $hit from the start. Brink was this years biggest flop for me so far...Dungeon Seige III and Hunted: The Demon's Forge where runner ups though.Croag821
I can't talk directly about DA 1 or DA2, but I've spent near to 450 hours between Crysis, Warhead and Crysis Wars and didn't even reach the 50 hours mark in Crysis 2 (even counting the multiplayer), so for me is a huge flop in terms of fun/enjoy compared against the precursors.
The fact that a lot of current fps are way worse than Crysis 2 of the fact that it has good production values and a high budget doesn`t change the big letdown that playing the game was. Was like jumping from chess to draughts

well thats where we need to define flop.
Economic flop? dragon age 2 by no means was a flop, you said it, it sold over 2 m units, i can bet most of them was because they loved dragon age origins like myself, and got fooled by bioware, they knew that and they went for it anyway.
quality flop? To me it is, dragon age 2 failed to deliver anything at all, it is a mediocre game for me, i wont bother even replaying it again, a horrible way to cash in the first one succes by bioware, and the fact tht many say dragon age 2 is a flop in this thread shows how much of a fail it was
