[QUOTE="THA-TODD-BEAST"]
I told you I was in the beta because I have personally played the game and that makes my opinion as valid as any. You were saying I'm basing my opinion only on someone else's, which is bogus because I have played the game. I know its downfalls. These reviews confirm that the flaws in the beta are present in the final version of the game.
Mediocre review? GiantBomb and EuroGamer are both respected, legitimate sources that review almost every new game release. In case you haven't noticed, the majority of reviews this game has received are mediocre. On Metacritic at this time, the game has averaged 64/100 (Roughly 6/10) on the Playstation 3 and hasn't even garnered enough reviews on PC to warrant a final score.
Oh, and great analogy with the chocolate ice cream. That's cute. Nevermind the fact that the majority of those who were in the beta are speaking out about the game, agreeing that it's disappointing at best. But that's just fine. Enjoy DC Universe Online: The game that has not only failed to deliver, but that will never amount to anything more than just another generic MMO in a sea of many other generic MMOs.

So because they are well respected, their reviews cannot be mediocre? I'm sorry but I'm sure most people choose to look at the content of the actual articles instead of the score and the name behind it.
Eurogamer is notorious for giving low scores, but they had mostly positive things to say about the game, with their main complaints being about the quests, chat system, and the monthly fee should be more reasonable. And while I mostly agree with the eurogamer review, Gerstmans review was laughable. His entire review basically came down to: I didn't like the combat, the quests were boring, so I didn't like the gme.
Neither reviewer talks about the checkpoint races that unlock as you progress and bounties that you need to team up with other players to complete. They don't talk about the eight man raids and duos that unlock once you reach lvl 30, or the fact that you get hard modes for duos, alerts, and raids. I'm surprised they didn't mention feats. Feats encourage players to explore, replay missions, etc and also awards them with more skill points. They also could have talked about the different roles(dps, tank, healer, controller) and how important they are once you get into the later parts of the game. There's also no mention of the investigations or mission briefings, or the collections that reward you with more gear.
So yeah, looking past the score and name I would consider both reviews to be mediocre. If anyone actually wants an in depth look at the game, check out IGN. They have a in progress review that is seven pages so far and he goes into details about the different aspects of the game.
@felipeinside
Can you show me where I mentioned his opinion or experience with the game. I asked him how two reviews proved the game was "average at best" and why their opinions mattered more than other reviewers
I didn't mean it as a statement, I was just asking...
But if both the combat and the quests are boring, then why play a game...?
