The Xunlai Agents have exciting news! They plan to grant everyone additional storage. Veteran travelers who venture into every corner of the world will receive the greatest rewards, however, because storage capacity will increase with each region-Tyria, Cantha, and Elona-that you frequent. Thus, even if you spend all of your time in a single area, your storage will increase, giving you an additional vault from that region to add to your original storage box. If you are a world traveler like me, and if you journey through all three realms, your storage will quadruple, for you will receive three additional vaults to add to your Xunlai box.
Xunlai storage specialists have listened to the complaints from travelers that storage chests are simply too small to hold treasures from all over the world. After numerous journeys across three distinct lands, replete with noteworthy and valuable items, some adventurers have been forced to discard items they would have preferred to keep, simply because they did not have sufficient storage space. Their entreaties have been heard and responded to.
Truly you must agree that this is remarkable news indeed! We will likely hear an audible sigh of relief from packrats, treasure collectors, and traders the world over. Be sure to check your storage vault in the next few days for this magnanimous gift, and join me in extending a word of thanks to the worthy Xunlai Agents.

Is it just me, or does the Vanquisher title seem rather impossible with heros/henchies?
I mean, even if you could get the right builds and rarely die...you still have to kill a few hundred foes in each of the, what, hundred plus areas (?) of each continent to get the full title
On a lighter note - this weekend marks Guild Wars' second anniversary. The boardwalk will be re-opened, alongside the Dragon Palace (PvP arena - almost as good as the snowball battles, but not quite) and the race track. There willbe a special gift for those who attend (the finale, I'm guessing), so don't miss it!

Yeah. I gave it a shot the other day and gave up before I finished even a single area (I chose Old Ascalon). I suppose it wouldn't be too difficult, it's just really, really time consuming. Well, that and healer enemies seem to run much more than they do normally and I wasn't expecting that (going back to town and redoing my skills after I'd already killed 150 enemies wasn't tempting).
Wow I'm the only one that likes Guild Wars?
NOTE: Can't wait to see some of the responses now (if I even get any)...

Hey GPAddict, of course you're not the only one ! :)
I haven't been posting in this thread in a while, been on the GW union board a whole lot though.. There's quite some discussions going on about GWEN and GW2, hard mode, etc...
I'm REALLY excited about Eye of The North, the early screenshots look positively gorgeous and the idea of multi-level dungeons is great! Something I've been wanting for GW for a looong time. I hope they will actually be explorable though like the main world map and not like the Sorrow's Furnace maps etc.., you know what I mean.
I've put some time into my Tyrian Vanquisher title as well, but it's incredibly long and, well, tedious after a while. I cleared Old Ascalon, Regent Valley, Scoundrel's Rise, but got my butt handed to me in Pockmark Flats (ouch). Then I gave up :p I can't even begin to think how I'll be able to vanquish areas like Twin Serpent Lakes, Kessex Peak, Lornar's Pass, Ice Floe, etc in hard mode. Certainly not with henchies ! The Guardian Title seems even more daunting to achieve..
One thing I'm pissed about is they uncoupled the Skill Hunter title track, so I lost my level 1 title. Working on Tyrian skill hunter now, will do the other 2 later. Legendary Skill Hunter, here I come !
Cheers,
Tom.
Â
Looks like the Vanquisher title isn't as hard as I first thought, assuming that you have lots of spare time. I've just vanquished all of Istan, and am considerably richer because of it.
However, I've used that money to fuel my gambling/alcohol addictions, so...yeah, I'm still horribly broke. :(

Good, I'm knew there were some ppl left that know a great game when they play one! :D
I did get Holy LightBringer on my Nuker during that double points weekend, but then again, who didn't LOL!
I totally look forward to EOTN and GW2. Take care and keep posting...
OK so I finally got 15 Titan gems and I have 15 or more of all the remaining Anguish gems....
So it costs 60 (15 of each type) anguish gems to get a Ambrace of truth which can be traded in for a torment weapon...
Do I just get the Armbrace and lose 60 gems!!! Or do I get coffers and try 15 times to maybe get lucky and get a armbrace and of course I might even get a minipet along the way???
Whatcha think???
Are any of you finding the D'Alessio Seaboard Mission (from Prophecies) in Hard Mode almost impossible?
I have tried at least 15 times with mostly good groups (and I'm a good player), and we can't seem to get past protecting Confessor Dorian. My God, I'm having nightmares about undead ghouls, Skeleton Monks, and Skeleton Sorcerors.
Oh well, I guess we'll try again tonight. I've completed 11 Missions in Hard Mode, but this one......argh!
Anyone else having troubles?

Is it them lockpicks? 13% chance not to break and I have broken 38 of them. And how many survived? 1....lol. Is it just me who really doesn't like the saving system on Guild Wars?? I'd much prefer it if you could save/log-off whenever and when you come back online be in that same place, not transported to a city miles away?Sir-Azeryk
LOL
The save system is just fine too me.
I know this sounds funny, but I don't do much of anything in GW anymore besides play Alliance Battles. I haven't gotten far in Nightfall really. My paragon is the farthest. I don't know why, but I can't seem to get into PvE at all. I maybe do PvE 10-13 hours a month tops. And when I do play PvE, I RARELY have real people in my party. I like henchies and heros alot more. I have less issues with them. Seems like there are ALOT of idiots on the game these days. They aggro more than they should and crap like that. Then you party is dead. With henchies and heros, I control the pace, I pick what gets aggroed, and I call the target (none of this "lets fight the boss first and the healers last" crap). But to be far, I am in a crappy guild. I need to find one that plays AB alot and also has members that PvE and ACTUALLY know WTF they are doing.l-_-l
Thats online gaming for you.
Im in a great guild that focuses on DoA and Elite missions and are always doing things together as a guild, its pretty cool.
BTW since no1 answered me earlier. I went ahead and traded in my 4 gems for a coffer and the first reward I got from it was a...
ARMBRACE OF TRUTH!!!!
It was so awesome becuz I am usually an unlucky person. Of course my 2nd try was 5 Exilirs of Valor, but I'm still very happy. :)
I love the PVE - don't know why, just addicted to scrounging items, elite skills, and titles. I play with a good friend and we each bring 3 heroes so we control the pace as well.
I haven't done much PvP, mostly because I'm not in any major guild and I just haven't developed the PvP skillset. If you guys want to do some PvE, PM me your GW names. I've won all 3 campaigns on normal. Got the protector title for Tyria and Elona. Haven't done them on hard yet.
Great game. But I agree that there are some definite morons out there. Especially when you go to the UW or FOW - they're bad play can kill the team.

I have mastered PvE :)
Now I enjoy Elite missions and Domain of Anguish.
Eventually I'll get into PvP and/or GvG.
I'll take a moron or a JERK anyday.
Just so everyone is clear!
guild wars is not an MMORPG.I know some of you realize this but there are some people who still dont accept it and really i just want to prove them wrong rofl :D
straight from the guildwars.com faq:
is Guild Wars an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game)?
Guild Wars has some similarities to existing MMORPGs, but it also has some key differences. Like existing MMOs, Guild Wars is played entirely online in a secure hosted environment. Thousands of players inhabit the same virtual world. Players can meet new friends in gathering places like towns and outposts where they form parties and go questing with them. Unlike many MMOs, when players form a party and embark upon a quest in Guild Wars, they get their own private copy of the area where the quest takes place. This design eliminates some of the frustrating gameplay elements commonly associated with MMOs, such as spawn camping, loot stealing, and standing in a queue in order to complete a quest.
Guild Wars takes place in a large virtual world made up of many different zones, and players can walk from one end of the world to the other. In Guild Wars much of the tedium of traveling through the world has been eliminated. Players can instantly return to any safe area (town or outpost) that they have previously visited just by clicking on it in the world overview map.
Rather than labeling Guild Wars an MMORPG, we prefer to call it a CORPG (Competitive Online Role-Playing Game). Guild Wars was designed from the ground up to create the best possible competitive role-playing experience. Success in Guild Wars is always the result of player skill, not time spent playing or the size of one's guild. As characters progress, they acquire a diverse set of skills and items, enabling them to use new strategies in combat. Players can do battle in open arenas or compete in guild-vs-guild warfare or the international tournament. Engaging in combat is always the player's choice, however; there is no player-killing in cooperative areas of the world.
Players in Guild Wars can play with or against players from around the world in the global tournaments and arenas. And while players are initially placed in a region based on their selected language (so that there is a greater likelihood that others will be speaking their language) they can join up in the always-available International District to form parties and to play with anyone from anywhere in the world.

Um OK
What is the deal with the elite missions anyway? Haven't tried them yet, but I can do the one at the end of Nightfall.sonicare
Not sure what you are asking...
But I love doing DoA, but it can suck becuz they are long missions, and there are NO ressurection shrines.

Question.
Â
If I buy factions, do i get the classes from the original GW, or just assassin and ritualist?Â
The classes in the original (Prophecies) are the base classes, meaning all the Guild Wars games has them. Factions added the Assassin and Ritualist, Nightfall adds the Paragon and Dervish.Question.

Aha, neat.
Now whats a Paragon and Dervish? Is there just basic rpg explinaion for them?Â
And what do you guys think of downloading online? http://www.plaync.com/us/games/gwf/

Or should i just get my lazy ass up and go to best buy?Â

Â
A Paragon is a spear-throwing battle commander who inspires his team with chants and shouts. He is a buff-class with heavy armor really.
The Dervish is a scythe-wielding warrior with medium armor and who uses enchantments to increase his damage-output and protect himself. He can also transform into an avatar of any of the 5 main gods in GW.
I'll admit those are pretty unconventional classes as far as classic RPG's go, but they're very well designed and fun to play. The Dervish is a very in-your-face damage dealer who can hit multiple foes at the same time with his scythe, transform into an avatar and become nearly invincible for a minute or so.. that's pretty cool.
And the paragon, although less straightforward, can be really satisfying as well. For instance, with high Command skills, you can shout "Go for the Eyes!", and your melee party members will almost certainly land a critical hit with their next blow. Or, when your party is being wiped out, you can shout "Fall Back!" , and suddenly everyone is able to run really fast and regenerate health at the same time. In other words, there's a tactical aspect to the paragon that the other classes don't have.
If you want a historical explanation for the class names, look them up on wikipedia.
Cheers,
T.Â

Did you ever beat it?
I've started GW when the original just came out. Then I stopped a few months after. However, now I am curious about picking it up, though I have some very important questions first. Now, how is the PvP holding up? That was always a major part that I took for granted but now I yearn to go all out PvP in some game. Is it like WoW where only a couple of classes dominate and the warrior is extremely weak? I am the type of person that enjoys complete melee destruction and was dissapointed in WoW for not giving me that option...ArcticSnake
Come back with me man. I just bought the game yesterday on eBay and I'm awaiting for it to arrive. The trilogy is only 80$!
I hear the PvP is more well-rounded and supported than WoW. Trust me, I got exalted with all 3 factions and grinded all there is to grind in WoW and GW has more variety and versatility.
The classes are very well-rounded and balanced in GW. There was complete melee destruction in WoW. Did you not play it pre-expansion and get good gear as a Warrior? They were the most powerful thing in the game in that regard. But yeah, get it and join me in leveling. Maybe we can level together!
ALSO, I am looking for a guild if any are recruiting. I leveled up to 20 as a Wammo almost a year ago and I'm back to enjoy the game again!

That's a great update, but it doesn't look as polished as the updates normally do.
I mean, shouldn't the Sunpear Rebirth Signet now be under the Sunspear Title Track section of your skill list? And your Lightbringer skills under the Lightbringer Title Track?
Oh, and I'm annoyed that I just invested all of my faction points into jade/amber. :P
I just dont get it. I love guild Wars, but whats the point of releasing eye of the north? the games sequel is already on the way. it will be like throwing money out the window.
If they scrapped GW2 and just tried to give the game a long life, like Diablo 2(which is still thriving online) I could understand, but I just dont see the point. I really dislike GW2 because it will kill the community and developer focus of GW, and then it wont be fun playing.
So in a way I dont feel like its worth it to throw money after a product thats dying. sure the hall of momentum is kinda cool, but as long as I cant transfer my physical character that I love, then I still think its futile, and dissapointing. It really is beyond my understanding.
GW still has awesome graphics. its not even in its prime yet, and its already being surpassed. Seriously WTF, my favorite game is getting the axe for a sequel I dont want or need.:(
I know its been said hundreds of times before, but I still just cant get over it. I f**king hate online sequels. the sequel always kills the game before it, because it needs players to be fun.
i feel the same way too.....like what i said before, the current generation is already on its way out and the community, which is already well past its prime, will lose even more blood as players are slowly getting ready to migrate or simply move on to other games. people might not feel that way, i'm ok with that. but to me, GW is singing its Long Goodbye.

Well as much as I love the current Guild Wars (still looking forward to GW:EN), I am also excited about the upcoming GW2. And these are my reasons:
1. GW2 probably wont be out until late 2008, but probably sometime in 2009. By that time I'm sure I will have done all there is to possibly do in GW1.
2. I'm exited to see how good they make GW2. And while it is completely possible that they screw it up (as the previous poster mentioned that he hates all online sequels), I am pretty sure that Anet will ensure they make the best quality product they can. I mean so far Guild Wars has not dissapointed me yet.
3.Hopefully Anet will take players input and try to make GW2 the best sequel ever (which I am sure they will). I believe that Anetmake the transition for GW1 players to GW2 as easy and painless as possible.
4. I am just hoping GW2 will be the ultimate upgrade to an already AWESOME game!
5. And if this is all wishful thinking on my part, and GW2 totally sucks, then at least I got to play GW1 and enjoyed it tremendously. But you know what? I don't see it happening! ;)
