Cool thanks for the input.

I just picked up Factions for now. Installing it as I write this. I fully intend on joining a guild for PvP purposes at some point in the near future, but between now and the new year I just cannot commit to any schedule. Although I'm sure I can find a temporary friendly guild to join...

Alrighty :)

So ... I love Guild Wars so far. I played through pre-searing with a Necro/Monk after trying out all my options, and then I took a Ranger/Monk (which I love) up to lvl 9 and, naturally, further in to the game. I think I've got the feel of the gameplay, and I'm really digging the visuals.

So ... I went out and bought the other two campaigns because after talking with a lot of people in-game, and actually having some time to do a pair of group missions, I think that the Ritualist is the path for me. Now I'm just about to start creating my new character but at the same time, I want to see how the Prophecies storyline etc pans out.

So ... What I want to know is, at which point after I create my Ritualist can I move to the Prophecies continent? Also, should I even do this? Are there Ritualist skills available outside of Factions? If not I guess I should just play through Factions with my Rit/??? and go back to Prophecies and finish up with my Ranger/Monk. Or, should I move my Ritualist to Nightfall? This is really the only part of Guild Wars that confuses me ...

Thanks for any input (and if you have any opinions on what profession I should combine with my Rit)

Good choice on the Ritualist - that's my favourite profession. ;)

Anyway, you can travel to Tyria (the Prophecies continent) as soon as you reach Kaineng Center - the 'capital city' of Cantha.
You can get there as soon as you reach the mainland, after finishing the second mission on the starter island - ther's a quest to do in Kaineng, which should be easy to find.

There are no Ritualist skills in Prophecies, but every other campaign has Rit skills. Your Rit will be able to acquire Prophecies skills for your secondary profession, however, so it is not a total loss.

If you want to experience 'everything' in each campaign, it is probably better to start a new character in that campaign; but if you want to have one main character, then you may as well do each campaign with a single character. It's really up to you.

Waste of money. The game is definately designed for people who can spend endless hours trying to get anything acomplished. The titles are a complete waste of time since they're all created for gamers who can sit at home for months without a job while living with their parents. Maybe NCSoft should check out what gamers do outside of their country. Some of us have lives to live.

No wonder WoW is designed like it is because people can leave their game, go to work, and receive bonuses when they come back for the time they couldn't play. It was designed for a real workingperson. Heck, I'd swear some countries do nothing but play games.

Christ, I should've just downloaded Rappelz and saved $40.

Um ya.

First of all your post is somewhat confusing.

I am sure many that play Guild Wars are not living at home. I own my own my own home and car, work in IT making very decent money. Have a girlfriend, enjoy life, and I don't consider playing GW or any games whether it be for PC, 360, and/or PS3 a waste of time.

Thats like saying someone who likes to fish is wasting their time, just because YOU don't like it doesnt make it a waste of time.

Not sure why you posted this, but um thanks I guess.

Yes this game is very good. I tried WoW and didn't like it, then I tried Guild Wars and well I think you can figure out the rest. But of course this is my experience/opinion and whether or not you feel the same depends on you.

I liked almost everything, the new graphics and scenery are amazing, the quests are much more interesting, and I just love the dungeons.

The only thing I disliked is the character based Hall of Monuments on minipets (they should be account based, even with the customization). That and some other things regarding the HoM.

Everything else is amazing, the game feels fresh again.

Ok, so I missed the Preview Event (played Bioshock instead), and now I'm wondering whether GW: EN is worth buying.

I've been playing the game for almost two years now and finished every campaign multiple times, but I got slightly bored with it after I got my Legendary Skill Hunter title. Is there enough content in GWEN to keep the game feeling fresh? Is it drastically different from the previous games?

Worth buying: If you are going to play GW2, which I KNOW I am, most definately yes. It will prepare you for the transition to GW2

Enough content: I am only so far, but I believe so...

Drastically different: Well, they aren't going to change what works, but the animal forms are cool and the multi-level dungeons are different. And again I haven't been through it all so I don't know what else to say.

what the heck happened to the premade PVP characters? YOu know, when you click PvP character and you can choose to create one from scratch or a premade build. What happened to those premade builds?

If you mean EOTN, it only works with an existingPve character, see below:

Do I need to own a copy of one of the previous Guild Wars campaigns in order to play Guild Wars: Eye of the North?

Yes, because Eye of the North is an expansion rather than a new campaign-and because it is intended for your high-level characters-you need to own at least one of the Guild Wars campaigns-Guild Wars (the original campaign), Guild Wars Factions, or Guild Wars Nightfall-in order to play Guild Wars: Eye of the North. However, you do not need to complete any of the previous campaigns to play GW:EN.

Will I be able to take my existing characters to the new areas in GW:EN? Do they keep their items, levels, and so on?

Absolutely. GW:EN is an expansion, and therefore you will play GW:EN with your characters from any or all of the previous campaigns: the original Guild Wars campaign, Factions, and Nightfall. Inventory items, skills, ranks, titles, and other possessions and attainments from previous campaigns remain yours and are usable within GW:EN.

This thread is full of hate messages and dumb questions. Guild Wars has many fansites, what is the point of having this megathread on gamespot?. Guild Wars doesn't suck NCsoft is the largest MMO developer on the planet and guess what ArenaNet is managed by all of Blizzards ex-employees who made starcraft, warcraft, World Of Warcraft and Diablo from scratch. Piss off WoW fan boys go back to your simple kids game.

I could never understand why Guild Wars was SO HATED with the utmost PASSION. I thought the series was extremely well done, and the fact that there's no monthly fee is a huge bonus. But all haters treat the fact that you don't have to pay monthly like it's a disease and a downfall to the game...like it affects the game's progress and content.

The best you can do is just ignore the noobs (because they most likely suck ass at World of Warcraft too) and get on with your life. I've played World of Warcraft happily for 3 years, and I'm just starting to get into Guild Wars. Guess what? I like them both. I hate Blizzard, but I like both games. Is that so hard, to just pick them both and like/love them, instead of picking and choosing between them? What's the point?

While you pay for Warcraft, you can easily play Guild Wars at the same time. It's that simple. The people who are so ignorant and negative towards Guild Wars' series are just unhappy people who will never be satisfied. So...why argue?

There will always be HATERS, nothing can be done about that.

The point of this thread is that there was one created for WoW, so I wanted one for Guild Wars. I actually had it stickied for a temporary period of time, but that was revoked. As you can see there are many replies on this MegaThread as you can see, so hopefully we will see less hate, and more L O V E ! ;)

Aw cmon, seems a little sissy like to be like that, be a man and learn from your mistakes, but I'm guessing your bro is younger than 18, so it probably don't matter anyways. But then again, its better to learn lessons young rather than too old.

Get back on that horse, they always say. And oh yeah, be smart, there are always con-artists out there, unfortunately. :(

Those were removed either during or after the Nightfall preview event. I remember the Pack Hunter build was on the list, and it requires Paragon as a secondary. The new system is much better.

- Who needs a walkthrough for eotn anyways? No seriously.....

- PvP like a Pro? Hopefully will make new players NOT run mending and healing breeze on their wammos.

I got Prophs for 60, Factions for the 2 for 50 deal, Nightfall for $60 and GWEN for 50. Also EB got exclusives here. And they still got GWEN in the coming soon section..the bums. Also I got the 3 campigns when they are during sales..so prices currently would be higher.

Just wondering, who else feels ripped off by EotN?

- Armor skins reused.

- Grind titles...boo!!!

- PvP broken and not fixed.

- Its a singleplayer game that requires internet connection.

- Did I mention the grind?

- Did nothing to improve guild system..or anything related to guilds.

Ok..while its not required to grind till rank 5 just for the armor. The game itself is too short. Was really hoping EotN would reinvigorate the Guild Wars universe. prophecies was good. Factions brought 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 sins and spirit spammers Rits. Nightfall brought rampaging trees (Avatar of Melandru)and men + skirts = fail.

Now I am waiting for the major updates that usually follows a release of an installment. Hope that wont cause more people to /ragequit.

Well, IMO GWEN is pretty much the poorest installation so far because of its totally horrid story, seriously, every cutscene is a farse full of clichés now compared to the pretty epic stories in the previous installments. Otherwise I'd say its decent, but I really hope for some major improvements for GW2 as there have basically been none since Prophecies itself.

As I mentioned before, I give the expansion an 8.5

- Armor skins reused.

I'm not sure what you mean by re-used.

- Grind titles...boo!!!

You call it grind, i call it character improvement

- PvP broken and not fixed.

Haven't done any PvP

- Its a singleplayer game that requires internet connection.

LOL, it is not a single-player game, although you can choose to play it that way.

- Did I mention the grind?

Character-improvement

-Did nothing to improve guild system..or anything related to guilds.

Its an expansion, which usually means more to do, expands on what is already there. I think you expect too much out of an expansion.

I have been playing the game and it seems that everyone is enjoying it, from what i can tell, and again it is an expansion pack.

Many of the new armour pieces are just reskinned versions of old armour pieces. It's not a problem with me, though, because the only EotN armour I have is an entirely new set - the female Norn Ritualist armour (one of the best looking sets in the game, imo).

- Grind titles...boo!!!

Every GW game except for Prophecies has had this. At least we get some actual benefit from farming this time around (title effects, skills, armour, etc).

- PvP broken and not fixed.

Haven't done any PvPGPAddict

Isn't the PvP the same as always? I don't PvP much, but I haven't noticed any differences.

Anyway, yeah, the primary EotN quests were short and far too easy...but I think the bulk of the game lies in the massive dungeons. I'm satisfied with what I've seen so far.
