According to the Wiki, degens should be effective since the Griffon has no natural regen rate.MattUD1
LOL
Yes I can read. :)
I tried going as a mesmer secondary and using lots of Illusion magic, but the problem is that he keeps chasing me down and leaving spirits everywhere. If it was just him it wouldn't be so bad, but those stupid spirits make it very difficult.
Anyone got any pointers for beating the Glacial Griffin (Cold as Ice) as a Tank (W)???
GPAddict
My spirit spammer survived by using poison arrows, one of the Norn shouts and Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support (or whatever it is called).
Try to lure the griffin so that you're standing on the hill with a 'wall' between you and it. You can't be hurt there, so walk around the wall, poison it, then hide again, shouting and assassin-ing it whenever you can (especially when it starts regenerating). It will go down eventually.

How fast does he/she/it set up the spirits? Can't you interrupt them?Ahh yes the cold as ice quest. For all the characters I have beaten it a different way. You just have to do it your own way.
There was a comment on PvP being broke. PvP is not broken and in fact is at its more balanced right now. Its ridculous to call it broken. Nothing is generally over powered right now.

This way, you can kill his spirits faster than he can spam them, heal yourself in the process and deplete the Griffon's energy pool.
Cheers,

Thanks for the advice!
But I actually beat him last night using Necro as my secondary and using Grenth's Balance (elite) and life stealing skills/spells.
Took me like 10 tries, but I eventually killed him by some miracle. :)
Hey there, i just quitted wow after 2 years of playing and i get sick and tired of it, see im a pvper in mmorpgs and obviously blizzard doesnt care much about pvp there or.. i just got bored of wow to many kids etc so... i wanted to ask how is guild wars i heard it has potential could anyone tell me how is pvp there? or can any one like give me a link where i can download a demo maybe? thanks Synyster74
PvP is where Guild Wars shines, its great fun! Of course I enjoy the PvE too.
There is no demo only trial keys, unfortunately I don't have any to give you.
Hopefully others will chime in...

Nothing is generally over powered right now.WarVSure explains the skill update by Izzy. Also explains all the lame builds in HA right now. Although to be honest I do like the buffs to the Mesmer.
I was considering getting EoTN, but I read a review in PC Gamer and it got a 68%...was it that bad? Basically they said it was just more of the same, and the items were pitiful. I don't need uber items like in WoW, but I do like progression and getting new, more usefull items.dnuggs40
I believe they've improved the item drops a tad since then, but nothing major.
Its a decent game, and there are some nice skills to get in it. But the grinding can certainly feel like a chore. Still, worth getting if u can get it cheaper.
Wow anyone else think it is weird that to go from Sunspear rank 9 to 10 is a 35K?!?!?
Sunspear Promotion Points:
1 Sunspear Sergeant 50
2 Sunspear Master Sergeant 100
3 Second Spear 175
4 First Spear 300
5 Sunspear Captain 500
6 Sunspear Commander 1,000
7 Sunspear General 2,500
8 Sunspear Castellan 7,500
9 Spearmarshal 15,000
10 Legendary Spearmarshal (Max Level) 50,000
Wow, everything seems a lot more complicated now. I have the original and haven't touched since it first came out...
I was thinking of getting back into it, though it seems a lot of changes have been made.
bigmit37
Well of course it is different, there have been many updates. I don't know about complicated though. But if you run into any complications, feel free to post here and I and hopefully others will be happy to help you out.

Somewhat cheesy GW commercial. :)

Correction: a VERY cheesy GW commercial.
I liked the bonus missions by the way. And especially the rewards! That's some great looking gear.

Try GW:EN for FIVE Hours - Even if You're Level 10!
Players who've secretly longed to try out the new Guild Wars: Eye of the North expansion, rejoice! This holiday season we're giving everyone a present: a five-hour trial of GW:EN! Plus, in the latest update we permanently lowered the level requirement for Eye of the North from 20 to 10 to make it easier than ever to enjoy the first true Guild Wars expansion. Think your character doesn't have what it takes? Think again. We now provide a buff to all characters level 10-19 to go toe-to-toe with the new content.
How it Works
1. Use this universal key to activate the trial (only one per account, account must have one full version of Guild Wars, Factions, or Nightfall activated)
2NNJD-B39M7-CDGPJ-9Q9B2-DH312
2. Start the Guild Wars client. At the Log-In screen, click the "Create Account or Add Access Key" link. Follow the instructions to add the key.
3. Once you have successfully added the key to your account, log into Guild Wars and follow the in-game instructions to begin your Eye of the North adventure.
4. The trial will last for 5 hours of game-play and is usable within 14 days after activation. After the trial is over, you can purchase Guild Wars: Eye of the North to continue your adventures.
Please note: you will not be able to use this access key in the PlayNC Account Management system. You must follow the above instructions to add it to your game account via the Guild Wars game client.
In-Game Instructions

In addition, during the event, three special items will be added that can drop from all creatures in Eye of the North: Sparklers, Hunter's Ale, and Honeycombs.
Is this a good game to get if you have not played MMO type games often? I had Silkroad online but I didn't like it much but am willing to try something else, Silkroad just felt not too good as it takes ages to level up and you can buy your way to be better which isnt for me. I was thinking of getting this or World of Warcraft but I don't like the idea of having to pay to play a game.Garfield360UK
Actually its perfect, its a small scale MMO, a CORPG really. If you dont want to pay online fees, Guild Wars is a great game to play.

Any clues on the release date for GW2?
SKaREO
Well the beta testing should start shortly. That reminds me, I need to look into that. :)
No Release date yet, but it may be out late 2008 or early 2009. I'm guessing it will prolly be early 2009 or sometime in 2009.
