I actually liked the idea of two sides but i did also know that there was going to be a side with more people.

I don't really get it, in WoW there are two sides but yet they are mainly even with players with both sides having goods and bads, why couldn't factions do the same? I mean is it really that hard to make even sides? It may be up to the public to choose their side but its the developers who have the power on how the sides can work.

I think the next Guild Wars should start fresh I'm sick off developers deciding to make an awesome game then half way decide to do a half arse job I mean what is up with that? Why don't developers give a preview (like the Night Fall one) and then make the players write comments and rate it out of ten?

Great post here. I'm a big GW fan and I liked reading all your different points of views... except for the haters obviously. I've only played Prophecies, but look forward to the others when I finish this one. I like the storyline, graphics and gameplay. Plus the online being FREE is a plus as well. My girlfriend and I play online together at home. She has it on her computer as do I on mine. I also have come to see that there are more people out there willing to help you on GW which is always welcome. In all, the game kicks butt and I highly recommend it to any RPG lovers out there.

I think that Guild Wars was a fun game, but there, I thought, that there was no interaction between players. The only interaction was in the instant areas and that was it. Also I think that a level twenty level cap was kind of lame. I don't own the game myself, but my friend has it and all of his characters are level twenty. So that shows me he spends most of his time on that game, which I wouldn't be surprised, or that the game was to easy to level up. So it has its up and downs, an up for instance, is no fees. The downs is that you have to buy an expansion pack every six months, I'm going on my friend so don't yell at me. It is a fun game but, I believe, it doesn't compare to World of Warcraft.HuGeGaMeR

Now see here 'GPAddict' I believe that the game is not even close to World of Warcraft. So If you already know that good for you want a medal? I honestly believe that you Guild Wars fanboys need to drop Guild Wars and buy a good game. So you can hate me or love me but don't go putting down World of Warcraft with your "don't have to pay monthly." Well for one thing you have to pay for WoW so you expect it to be good and better than Guild Wars and second of all ( like the other guy said) "it's an opinon" don't have to go blame a guy who likes his games cause you don't like theirs.

Guild Wars (original) is a better game than WoW, period.

...and this coming from a big fan of Blizzards games. Then again, some of the Guild wars Arena Net team were former Blizzard employees :)

yea well since I live in a country far away from America I guess they will be launching Night Fall after you guys "sigh" Unless their doing a world wide launch. I could download it from the shop but I don't really trust downloads cause if you want to re-install it then you have to buy it again.voodoo1032801

Nonsense, Guild Wars (Prophecies) is, along with Half-Life 2, Baldurs Gate 2: Shadows of Amn, Call of Duty, and Civilization IV, among the biggest reasons this decade to be a PC Gamer.

These are GREAT games.

You can just buy nightfall and play it, no need to have the previous 2.

That's what I like about this game, not like every other game (insert almost any type of game here) where you need the original one to play the expansion.

And the reason I ask is because I'm a W/Mo but it seems that they only want W/A there. So...

That's entirely correct, but make sure you get the merging of the accounts right when adding your Nightfall key, as there's no getting back afterwards. You have to choose to add the new key to your existing account in order to be able to travel back and forth between continents.

And note that you will 'lose' 2 character slots when merging accounts. A separate account would give you 4 character slots.

sorry guys......i think i'm gonna give up on Guild Wars......

i liked this game, hell, very much.......i remembered the first night i played it, exploring the pre-searing Ascalon with a Canadian. we stood looking over a slope full of snow pines and she told me, who had been awe struck, that this was how her homeland looked like. i remembered how i used to help out these newbies, taking them from town to town, free, and giving tips as i could spare. back then they didn't want to "run"...back then the game was warm and genuine...back then the game was full of wonder.

now it's all about expansion packs and run and obsidian shards and wts spam...that's all i see over the realm of Tyria. Prophecies hasn't seen any major improvement since what....sorrow's furnace? that was almost a year ago. sure, Canthan green drop weekend....ArenaNet might as well send me an email, "you didn't purchase Factions so you are not really our valued customer, gee, sorry"........i don't like WoW, not at all.....but at least the game is willing to put up an illusion of improvement and changes without pulling the cheesy expansion trick.

i don't think ArenaNet is going to care what about my whining...yea...and perhaps i am....but still...i quit. sorry guys...i ain't spamming....just feel like venting the loss of my love........

Well sorry to hear, and Anet cannot please everyone, and everyone will get out of the game what they get out of it, and who knows for how long that will be, I have been playing for almost a year, and I still LOVE this game. Ya there are dull moments, and some things that aren't so great about it (I mean its an online community, there will be jerks and punks), but overall its really a great game and been more Fun then I ever tohught it could be. Right now I love trying out all the professions, man what a differnce gameplay is with a different prof and the challenge of learning how to play it well.

Hope you change your mind, and these stand-alone/expansions are fine by me, I mean paying $43.29 for Nightfall will be money well spent and I look forward to it. Peace.
