Mass Effect 3 Core Content Stripped to Make Day 1 DLC - Only Free to CE

And here we go again with an even BIGGER douche move from both Bioware and EA. Bioware has stripped core ME3 content for the sake of day 1 DLC that you STILL have to pay for even if you bought your Standard Edition NEW. This is the equivalent to the Zaeed and Shale content included in the Standard editions of ME2 and DA:O with ONE difference. That content was free to all consumers that bought the games new. Now these morons have opted to screw everyone out of some content to better line their wallets. What say you? Can any of you - in your right mind - justify such an action? Is there room for such BS from what we once believed was a respectable dev? Hell no.

I preordered the Collectors Edition ages ago, since they said a long time ago that there would be a bonus character in the bundle. How do we know this is "CORE" ME3 content exactly? What is the difference here between what other developers/publishers have done with their day one dlc? You still have to pay for maps and bonus content with other publishers and games so what is the dividing line here that seperates it from what everyone else is doing?

How do we know that they literally had it in the game and actually pulled it out of the game before release to sell it? is there a dev leaking this info or are we just speculating that they pulled it out of the finished product? It would be pretty shaddy if that was the case but how exactly do we know 100% that it wasn't created to be dlc in the first place?

He was found in the game files and script when the beta was leaked on the 360 a couple of months ago.

If questioning this persons ideas and where they got their info makes me a "biodrone" then I guess I am one. To be honest I think the real drones are the ones that don't ask any questions and just accept what is said as fact with very little evidence.

yes making excuses to why a company cuts parts of the game already done to resell it to us does not make you a biodrone for sure. yes its a "hate train" is not like some us not biodrones see this as a bs move. totally acceptable

Because the extra $10 tacked onto PC sales for pure greed isn't enough. Because insuring that PC games can't be resold with DRM isn't enough (while ignoring consoles). Because selling key story elements as DLC isn't enough. Because, god forbid, they'll only make $80 million over $85 million without day 1 DLC.

I think I may be waiting for this one to hit the bargain bin or at least some reviews to say that the series was concluded nicely (and Bioware is done milking my wallet). Bioware just isn't proving to be the same developer it used to be...

Actually, who am I kidding - I'm waiting for ME3 to hit the bargain bins.

ME3 will be my last EA/BioWare purchase for many years to come I think, unless they have something way too awesome to pass up.

And I enjoyed the demo so much too. After watching Total Biscuits latest video and hearing what he had to say, I will not be buying ME3. Oh well, just means more money in my pocket, and more time for my backlog.

What a cheap move...i broke my "After DA2 i will never preorder a game again" rule for this game. Will i ever learn...I mean, the game is probably gonna be awesome, but this just rubs me the wrong way. The extra weapons and armor dlcs releases is ok, cuz they dont really add anything to the game. This is just bad form.

I can't believe they have the audacity to do something like this when their game is a complete pile of crap that's been thrown together. Even GOOD games that have content kept aside as DLC are a disgrace.

That, or it will definitely be one of the top 5, that's for sure. I find it weird how they keep getting caught with their hand in the cookie jar. Imho, Mass Effect series has declined. Not because of this fiasco.. ME2 and ME3 will never match ME1. ME1 was BioWare at its best in terms of this series. I think I will just go and replay that game instead of wasting my time here. :P

Isn't it though, in short terms at least (which most of the investors are interested in)? The ROI on the DLC will probably be much greater than the game itself. Mass Effect 3 would always be one of the top pirated titles this year with or without this DLC because it's one of the biggest games of the year. The fact that it's a big title gives EA/Bioware leeway to use this kind of shoddy business practice just like Activision with CoD. My guess is that if just 10% of the ME3 owners buys the DLC it would probably been a huge success for them.

Sad this had to happen. This is why I hate the fact gaming has become mainstream. All the idiots out there simply buying this because its an action game have no idea they are being ripped off.

I wasn't getting it at launch anyways. I will just wait for a nice Origin sale and pay $50 for everything.

As much as I love the ME series I WON'T be buying ME3 until it is for sale in the bargain bins. The is scandalous from Bioware/EA and I won't support it at all.
