Most Over Rated Games EVER!

What games do you think don't live up to the hype?

For me I think it would have to be:

1. Crysis

2. HALO

3. (Tied) Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare / Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

1) Halo

2) Half Life 1/2

3) Modern Warfare 2

After seeing Kozzy's list I remembered how much I really hate that worst game ever created with pretty graphics and a decent modding community.

Updated list:

1) Oblivion

2) Halo

3) MW 2 (eeven though HL is treated as the best game/series there is, it's at least a solid game compared to MW 2)

It does have something to do with the topic...and this type of thread get's made all the time. The same people will come in and post the exact same popular games as they do every single time. since we are bringing console games into it, demons souls is the most overrated game of all time, atleast by critics and hardcore sony fans. I swear everyone I know who tries it hates it because of its extreme clunkiness, narrow dark hallways, and genericness. These people should try a few pc rpgs!

I think you're wrong - maybe you're right about Halo.

anyway IMO most overrated game is GTA4 - a 10/10? it's the best in the series but a 10/10? I bet Mafia 2 won't get that score

Crysis is not overrated at all. It's one of the few games that deserve their AAA status.

Anyway, MW2, FF7 and 8, Assassin's Creed.

QFT. It's the only game I know that managed to get a decent melee combat with a first person view, and also puts action-adventure elements in the mix.

Although the ghouls in the game were extremely annoying, the game itself is just great. Its underrated-ness is criminal.

Pretty much any RPG/MMORPG that has Blizzard, Bethesda and, at least in the past 10 years or so, Bioware on the box.

Dishonorable mention: Grand Theft Anything and CoD4.

what's so overrated about COD4? i thought the single player was excellent and the multiplayer was fast paced and relatively balanced. probably the best in the entire series.

i agree i liked the first one i think it is a great game but it is a little overated. I just think that Modern warfare 2 took the cake of overated.

Multiplayer was not fast paced at all.

But I agree, CoD4 is not overrated. Not too much, at least.

By getting reviews that inflate its quality scores.

They either review it well because 1. They liked it. or 2. They were paid off. Either way being overrated has nothing to do with it. You calling a series overrated means you think your opinion is right, and theirs is wrong. But we all know opinions can't be either. The thread should be renamed something like "Popular games you don't like"w4rrior17

Deus Ex has a 8.2 here, Modern Warfare 2 has 9 on consoles and 8.5 on PC.

Now tell me something is not wrong here.
