Ack.
If you really want to showboat youre rig, do it in a different thread please.
Youre ruining whatever help may be given to those who genuinely would like to know. But please folks a bit of commonsense before asking.
- Go to your local shop which has Requested Game.
- Make sure its with a prin out or written copy of your System Specs.
- Compare
-Use brain to take a guesstimate.
Hi guys im just wondering can my comp run two worlds right or even bioshock at min req?
RAM 512mb 2 processers running intel(R) pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.07 GhZ rated 4.60 GHz
vid card:ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 series vid ram 256.0 mb have all vertax and pixel shadr 2.0
Ijust downloaded the Crysis demo and I can run it in the medium settings, kind of choppy but acceptable.
One thing I want to know is: Which DirectX 10 Card is really superior to the one I have? I've been reasearching really hard because Crysis is coming. I haven't really found any differences between my videocard and the ones I have in mind. Aside the DirectX 10 compatibility, most of the 512 "Newer" videocards only have small diferences in processing speed. (Mine is 500 MHz).
By the way, I have a ATi Radeon x1600 Pro @ 512MB.
In case you guys need my specs here they are:
Intel Core 2 Duo 6300 @ 1.9 GHz
2 Gb Ram Kingston (I forgot the model, but I recently bought them, and by recently I mean 1 month or less).
Windows Vista Ultimate.
Thanks for reading.
Another newbie bites on the bait. VRAM has nothing to do with higher performance, rather it is ENABLED after high performance already is in place, and the X1600 is from the low end of Medium, where its 128 Bit memory system and slow core speed mean that 256 MBs is the max that it can occasionally make use of. The X1900 and X1950 cards from the same ATI generation are the high performance cards, and they are 256 Bit GPUs, so that they can put 512 MBs to good use, if they are matched to a large enough display that offers a high enough resolution (1600 by 1200 is the starting point for that).
The unused VRAM was included purely as a SCAM to sell the card, and make you think it had a higher performance than it really offers. Right now, one of the bargain Dx9 cards is the X1950 Pro, but if you want Dx10, you need an HD 2900 Pro or 2900 XT. And, if you want Dx10, you have to be running Vista, which seems to cause problems for computers older than the new OS is.
Onboard graphics chips don't handle modern 3D games. The Xpress200 is one of those. Get a real game-capable video card before asking this sort of thing (if it's a laptop, get a better one). Kiwi_1ya its a labtop and yea im geting 2GB but im wondering what vid card should i get can you recomend any?

Read what I said more slowly. If it's a laptop, you are out of luck. It cannot be made into a gaming PC. There is no upgrade route for the (onboard chip) video on a laptop (notice this sits in your Lap with a P, not atop your pet Labrador Retriever with a B). Even if you had one of the relatively rare laptop models that was assembled with a real video card instead of an onboard chip, the odds are against even that being upgradeable, since in most cases the attachment of card and laptop is totally permanent.

Do you think I will be able to play on medium settings on a decent resolution smoothly? BTW, is medium settings on par with the Xbox 360 version or is it lower?
So many questions, dont want to get the game and find out that its only worth playing on low settings :(

There are multiple varieties of Intel CPUs. Core speeds are only useful when discussing the now obsolete Pentium P4s, whether they were single core or "D" model dual cores.
Crysis Publisher: Electronic Arts Developer: Crytek
Minimum System Requirements:
CPU: Athlon 64 2800+/Intel 2.8ghz (XP)
or 3.2 GHz and faster (Vista)
Memory 1.0 GB RAM (XP) or 1.5 GB RAM (Vista)
Graphics: 256 MB Nvidia 6800/X800GTO (SM 2.0)
HDD: 12GB
Internet: 256k+
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP
Sound Card DirectX 9.0c compatible
Supported Processors:
Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz (3.2 GHz for Vista) or faster
Intel Core 2.0 GHz (2.2 GHz for Vista) or faster
AMD Athlon 2800+ (3200+ for Vista) or faster.
Supported Video Cards:
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT or greater; ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (Radeon X800 Pro for Vista) or greater. Laptop versions of these chipsets may work but are not supported. Integrated chipsets are not supported.
Recommended System Requirements:
CPU: Intel Core 2 DUO @ 2.2GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS/640 or similar
RAM: 2.0Gb
HDD: 12GB
Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX10 with Windows Vista
As you can see under "Supported Processors", a Core2Duo CPU running at 2.0 GHz qualifies. An HD 2400 video card does not meet the minimum requirement, however (not equal to an X800 GTO).
Hi guys.
Is it worth an upgrade from a pentium 4 3ghz to core 2 duo e4500 @ 2.2ghz for current games like bioshock, crysis, GOW etc?
i already have a 7900gs and 2gb ram. normally i'd just play in 1024x768 but i'd like all my settings maxed. appreciate your help. :)
