Hey I wanted to buy Crysis and COD 4, I know pretty much if I can handle Crysis just fine I would be able to handle CoD 4 just fine right? Well I don't know much about system requirements so I was wondering if this could handle Crysis, and on which detail settings... Also what resolution would I be able to be on?
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU @ 2.40 GHz
2046 mb ram
NvidiaGeForceXLR 8800 GTS 320 MB PCI-Express Graphics Card
Windows Vista home premium 32-bit operation system
So tell me if I can handle it... And hopefully it is good news
Your CPU can handle COD 4. You need 2,048 MB RAM for Windows Vista on the highest visual quality, you should be fine on a lower setting. It can run on Vista. You should have no problem running this game on your computer, I'm not sure about the resolution and the exact specs for each detail setting. Anyways, you seem to be set.
Hi,
I too was wondering if I could run crysis my comp is a modified dell dimension 9100 with a lot of modifications.
Pentium D 945, i think, 3.0 Ghz
I have 2 Sata gaming hard drives 7200 Rpm by Western Digital
2 GB of DDR 2 800 PC2-6400
I currently have a X1800XL with a Artic Cooling fan installed but am planning to buy a 8600GTS 512 MB GDDR3 128-bit( I know, eww) with 650 Mhz core and a 2000 effective memory speed.
Dual booting - Windows Xp Pro Sp 2 and Vista "Pro" 32 bit
Do you guys think my friend and I will be able to run crysis in directx 9 or maybe 10 at all?
Thanks,
Oh sh*t
Sorry about that
I meant a 8600GTS OC(i think)
To be precise this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130286
If you guys still thinks its crap, can you recommend me a dx 10 card for 100-200 bucks.
Oh and It would be awesome if you guys could also recommend a third party cooler since I heard that one sucked..
Thx
Yea.. I didn't fully understand this.
I have a pci express x16 slot.
The ati Hd 3870 is pci express 2.0
Now, I wikied it and found out that 2.0 works on the older versions.
Is this true?
And also if I use it on the older version will it made a performance difference?
i just purchased cod4 for the pc . installed it and it moves at a turtles paced. my pc specs are
amd athlon 3800+ 64 dual core / 3gigs ram / 250gb hdd/ ati raedon express 200 series / emu 0404 soundcard (i used to use this machine soley for music production! i dont understand how it could run sonar7pe/flstudio7pe/ssl400plugs/cool edit pro2/ emulatorx2/ dimension pro ect... but cant run 1 game. the machine is optimized for best performance. does anyone know of anything that could possibly help? do i need to provide more info? thanks in advance! it took over an hour to complete the boat mission because it was runnng so slow. also the machine is defragged daily!
ps. on another note im kinda disappointed by the absence of xbox 360 controller supprot. i have one for the pc (works well with madden) but i was told by a gamestop employee(yesterday before my purchase) that the game "definitely" supported it. anything to get a sale huh!

Unlike console games, just because a given PC can run Windows doesn't mean it runs games at all well. That's why PC games have warning labels on their boxes, to tell buyers what level of PC system hardware is needed before the game runs nicely (and for that you need "Recommended Level", not the mere "Minimum").
Onboard graphics chips like yours are nearly always very far below all games' minimums. That's in the nature of cheapness, which is what the onboard chip is. You'll have to buy the right video card to support the game(s) you want to play. The minimums on the labels just give you a chance to preview the game and decide whether you will upgrade (IMO).
I'm gonna build a new PC so can you guys tell me at what settings my future rig play on Crysis?
2GB RAM
Intel Dual Core E2160
Nvidia 7600GT or 8600GT (is it a big difference?)
Thanks
I'll post this again. . .

Which *cheap* graphic card do you think is the best to play all these new games? Please do not tell me nvidia 8800 ultra!8)
Thanks Nicolaos!!
When it comes to modern 3D animated games, the concept of "Cheap = Decent Game Play" is an Oxymoron. You get what you pay for, and trying to pay as little for a video card as a game costs is self-defeating. Basically, the minimum requirements just barely give the gamer a "preview" of the games, at slow slide show speeds and blurry image quality. For games a year or more old, you can get by for around $100, online, in USD, shipped stateside, but you won't be getting a "good" gaming experience that way, only a marginal one.
WoW is not a modern 3D animated game, it's a creaky old MMO toy, and almost any old POS made in the last 5 to 6 years can run it, probably including an atrociously awful Intel chip, but I don't know that for sure. You won't get me anywhere close to that silliness (woW).
People, if you truely want to know how well your PC can run a certain game, go to this website:
www.systemrequirementslab.com
The website analyses your computer in detail and provides a summary on how well your comp willhandle the game you're interested in. It's a great site.
I got the witcher with big enthusiasm and installed it without wasting a second, enjoyed the entry movie with admiration and clicked on New Game.
But as soon as it loaded the game, the game crashed and returned to windows. Then I downloaded 1.1 patch from offical website and upgraded my windows downloading hotfixes from microsoft. Opened the game adjusted all settings to the lowest level and started the game, and yet it crashed again.
The only reason I can think of is that my specs are not good enough to run this game. I am using a notebook which run many recent games like oblivion, NWN2, NWN2-MoB, Company of Heroes, san andreas etc
My specs:
Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit, 2 GB RAM, Core Duo T7200 2.GHz, 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600
Could you please give me your opinions or share your experiences about the problem? The specs are above the system requirements. And I couldnt see my graphic card among the unsupported graphic cards. Any opinion and suggestion is appreciated. Thanks from now
does anyone know if halo 2 can be run with a radeon 9700 pro?zero030Operating system Windows Vista
hi! i have been trying to make oblivion run on my computer, but my video card is only 64MB (from the 128 needed). Is there any way i can make it run on my pc (all other requirements are met).
Thank you very much, nikitas.

It's not necessarily the VRAM limit, it's far more likely the absence of an SM-2 pixel shader. One of the differences between five year old and four year old video cards (other than nVIDIA FXes) is that Radeons got Dx9 four and a half years ago (9500, 9700), and Geforce got something similar, but not nearly as good, at the same time. Both companies also stepped up to 128 MBs of VRAM then, for the most part, which game developers/ distributors find easier to use as a demarkation number.
The cheap Radeon 9200 / 9250 cards didn't have Dx9, and are sometimes still found available with only 64 MBs, but it's the pixel shaders that keep them out (although they can kinda crawl through the game if you use the OldBlivion replacement launcher).
There are mobile video cards in old laptops with less than 128, but old laptops just can't play games. They simply aren't good enough.
Assassin's Creed?
Hey guys,
I know the system requirements haven't been revealed yet for the upcoming PC version of Assassin's Creed, but do you think my computer can handle it? To give some perspective, I can play the original Halo on max settings smoothly and Crysis on lowest settings smoothly. Would it be more graphics intensive than Crysis? Here are my specs:
Core 2 Duo T7300 2.0 GHz processor
2 GB RAM
256 MB Nvidia Quadro FX 570M Video Card
100 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive
Thanks
