I might be getting a new computer for christmas. What I was wondering was if any of you could suggest me a good computer for gaming. I mainly just want to play World of Warcraft, but I would like to play it with almost no lag, (im not sure if its the computer or the internet connection that causes lag but if you could tell me that would be nice.) I will most likely play other games too so maybe suggest one that would be good for WoW and another one for all games overall. Also is there any type of brand that is bad for gaming and one that is good?Thank you for helping.
My pc system requirment is 1.Prossesor: pentium 4 (2.66 ghz).
2.Ram: 2 Gb.
3.Graphichs Card:Nvidia GeForce 8600 gt (256 Mb).
4.Harddisk: 160 GB.
5.Operating System: Windows xp.
Please tell me does Crysis game will run in my pc and will I can play the game smoothly.

How well can I run orange box, crysis (I just want to play in DX9 on medium), UT3, the witcher, and bioshock?
2 gigs ram
8600
Vista
AMD athlon 64 x2 dual-core processor 3800+
[QUOTE="Feran"][QUOTE="Skyriderlink"]My PC specs
Core2Duo E6600 at 3.0Ghz
Corsair XMS 2GB DDR2 800(oc1066)
ATI Radeon2900XT(old one-geforce7800GT)
Western Digitle 10,000 RPM 150GB Raptor Hard Diskx2(Raid0)
Sound BlasterX-fi(onboard)
It runs nearly all games at their best with respectable framerates.
The only problem is Can my Pc run Crysis at its best.

I would say your CPU and Ram are ok at least not sure about the card though but if all your current games a running fine on it then I would leave it until crysis comes out and use that time to save up for a top of the range card if you want it on max settings that is.
You dont even know what you are talking about! His CPU and ram, would run pretty good, but comom?? hd2900xt would max Crysis out!Agreed.
If you mean maxing out EVERYTHING ... AA , AF , High Resoloution etc. No that system won't be able to handle it.

That'll run Orange Box on maximum settings and Crysis on medium with solid framerates. My laptop has identical specs excluding the processor (which isn't very fast anyways), and it achieved the above performances.

Orange Box on high. UT3 on high @ 12x10, The Witcher Med-High @ 12x10 and bioshock med-high @ 12x10.
Kyotlneshi: Medium at that Resolution will require you to be able to cope with low framerates, dropping regularly into the teens. I know I'm fine with it....
Calzy, The 8800GT will let you play on High at 1024x768 with good FPS, maybe higher.
Now both of you, RUN THE DEMO!!!! It's a FREE DOWNLOAD!!!!
The 2600 XT is a MEDIUM level video card, and the X1800 was HIGH level when it was available. One generation isn't enough for Medium to overlap that far into last year's "High", so yes, your VPU will run the game, but just at Medium settings. Kiwi_1
Cool. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it!
Hey just wondering how my PC will run with World in Conflict.
My Specs :
Pentium 4 2.8 Processor
1 gb of RAM
NVIDIA7600 GT Extreme 256mb GDDR3 AGP
500w Power Supply
Is this good enough to run World in Conflict on med/high settings? If not what do I need to get to that level?
Can my computer run World In Conflict?
Processor:AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz

Sound Card:SoundMAX HD
Operating System:Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227
If you're running Crysis on XP, is it impossible to achieve the High Settings? I know that it's incompatible with DirectX 10, so is this why? Running XP with an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33Ghz, 2GB RAM, 300 Watt powersupply. Would it really improve my settings to install a PNY Verto GeForce 8600GT? My board is definitely compatible with it.
What is so hard to understand ? You have one MEDIUM card that isn't DESIGNED for high settings, so you think someone else has another MEDIUM card that is somehow magically different ?
You must match High Quality video hardware with High Quality demands for great images, or accept the financial facts of life -- medium cards are matched to medium graphical settings. You get what you pay for, same as always. A "600" card is medium, and the "800", 900, or 950 is what you must use for the high settings, at the matching cost.

geez dude....sorry I asked. I'm not exactly a hardware genius like you are. I don't know all the technical details of what a medium or high card is and I guess now I do. Sorry to burst your bubble....damn.
You'd be more likely to get an answer that might have some experience behind it, or at least a second hand reference, from the Bethesda Hardware Forum than from here. GameSpot game players won't have that production type video device in their systems, or else will be console-oriented and have no idea what their video is all about.

Hi, i got 4 gig of ram, a total of about 6.0 grez processor speed (intel) and a nividia video card with 2 gig of ram and shader 4.0. and about 60 tb (NOT 60 GB!) of hard drive space. and my comp is connected to a sharp hdtv, running at like 3600*2400 resolution. i'm running vista ultimate and os x leopard on my Mac Pro. So how long would i be able to run games at its highest settings (or how long would it take till my system is seen as average)?
OK........... my son got a macbook today, it has 1 gig ram and intel core duo 2 and a graphic card named intel gma 950. and windows xp pro, os x tiger. (yes, i brought it cheap, only 750 USD, nt bad... yeah. i was saving some money for myself so i can get a 360... yeah... u can say i'm not too nice to my son...buying him a cheap notebook) well..we tested some games and it says it does not support shader 1.1 (meaning the comp does not support shader 1.1). so i cant run games like moh airborne, cod 4 , coh opposing fronts, need for speed prostreet, just cause, crysis, pes8, orange box, bioshock, and supreme commander.(yes, 'm a heavy gamer and i brouhgt lots of games) so now my son can only play games like battle vietnam and gta sa and pes6, fifa08, nba 08, need for speed mostwanted. that sucks, cuz i dont want him messing with my mac pro (my baby). so do u guys know any software that can emulate shader 1.1 for windows xp? .......grrr..... should have gotten him a hp laptop, but on the other hand.........hugociss
Already the fact that it's a Mac laptop means it's not for gaming. And that Intel GMA 950 is not even a graphic card, it's just a really horrible integrated chip. Don't expect to play anything that came out after 2004 with it. Laptops (especially cheap ones) simply aren't for gaming.
2.6GHz Athlon 64 X25200
2GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE
Vista Premium
I know that the video card is not excellent by any means, but the games I want to play are not very demanding. As a matter of fact, I dont have a new game past Kotor 2... and I dont seek to buy any new ones
Anyway, here are the games I want to play:
Call of Duty 1-2
KotOR 1-2
Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat
Counter Strike: Source and Day of Defeat: Source
Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield
Morrowind
Jedi Knight 3: Jedi Academy
I do not need to be able to have, like, 100 fps max or anything, as long as each hits 30 fps or more. (and I dont mind having graphics low)
