just purchased a new Toshiba laptop. I was wondering if i could play crysis on low or maybe even medium settings without having framerate issues. I have:

AMD Turion X2 TL-64 @ 2.2ghz
3GB DDR2 667 RAM
ATI Radeon 2600 HD with 256mb GDDR3dedicated and up to 255mb more shared
250GB Hard drive

Any help would be much appreciated

I'm wondering about buying a similar model. But will a Dell notebook with GeForce 8600GT 256 mb is going to do better than an the Ati Radeon 2600 HD 256 with up to 1023 mb on hyper memory tech?

well with regards to the notebook version of the 8600GT, it is pretty similar to ATI's 2600. Dell notebooks are the devil!! Get an HP or a new Toshiba Satelite.

Maybe on low, but with vista you should have at least 2GB of ram and also that is a crap video card.

disregard my comment i thought you were talking about crysis. You should be able to run bf2 on high without a problem but that video card is definatly your weakspot.

It has a single player but it it just you verse bots in like a 12v12 CTF. It is primarily an online game and a very solid one at that. I mean what other game can you do a 32v32?

This is a "can my comp run this" AND Crysis question, hope it's okay here!

I bought the game "Crysis" for PC windows for my brother for Xmas...

He recently bought a 'gaming' laptop but I found out the processor is only 1.5Ghz!!!! On the game it says it needs a minimum of 2.2Ghz (with vista) for the processor speed. He's got 256 video, 2GB ram, etc.

Will it run ok on his computer? If it won't, I need to return it like NOW since it's the only thing I have for a present right now! ARGH!

Please help, how exact are the requirement specs on these games???? Thanks for any replies/help!

My opinion is that most games offer a very unrealistic carrot on a stick. They suggest that much lower performance hardware is potentially useful than is the actual truth. IMO, it's only when you meet the "recommended" performance levels are you at all certain to have a game play at all well.

Go to Major Geeks and download the CPUz program. Install it, run it, read its report (for the video card, Windows knows that: right-click the desktop, then on Properties, then on Settings, then Advanced, and there you have it, but there's more about it under "Adapter").

Ok, I just recieved Call of Duty 4 for Christmas and I am wondering if I can run it. Here are my specs. (By the way, this is a laptop.)

2 GB of RAM

Nvidia GeForce Go 6150

AMD Turion 64 Dual-Core Processor.

I know from reading my box that my Video card is inadequate, but I was wondering if I ran it on low if it would work. I have more than enough RAM. Didn't know if having extra RAM would makea difference in this regard. Also, if not, I was wondering if anyone knew what it would cost to upgrade my card to something more respectable.

The 5700 LE doesn't have a properly functional SM2 pixel shader function. Compared to the minimum card, is is worse than a slide show, it's just a CRAWL. Replace it.

You won't be able to play it. Minimum requirement is 6600 and your chip is is not even near it's performance. As I know, you won't be able to upgrade it's either. It's a laptop with integrated chip. Laptops are not made to be upgrade and they aren't even made for gaming.

If the 8800 GTS is on the Reccomended list then 8600 GT will struggle to play it well on medium. It porbably would, but with not great FPS. Crysis hasn't been well optimized but can you blame Crytek, The game's a masterpiece.

Will the Radeon x1550 run COD4?

Pbautoparts

That's just not a common enough Low Quality card to answer without research that you can do for yourself at GPU Review. Put the minimum 9800 Pro up against that X1550 in the comparison listing and find out how bad it is (or how good). This I do know, it's closely related to the X1300, not to the X1300 Pro, or the quite usable X1300 XT. As I recall, the core speed and memory specs were slightly tweaked, so it ended up in between the Vanilla 1300 and the X1300 Pro (which in its own day was at its best a card near the top end of the Low Quality group, but not quite into the borderline zone with the 7300 GT).

You'll probably find it slightly less usable than the minimum named cards would be.

When released, the 7600 GS was pretty well in the middle of "Medium" performance and quality, and two years later, it is still at least within the overall Medium group, although a lot closer to the bottom of the bracket than it was. In its case, the "600" performance level indicator it carries is still a good guide point. Yes, CoD4 will run relatively decently on that card, in the system that you referred to originally.

my pc has an intel quad-core running at 2.4 ghz, 3 gigs of ram, and an geforce 8500 gt. my vista rating for these specs is 5. is this enough to run some of the newest games like bioshock and gears of war at the highest specs? i mean max out the graphics options in the games and usee full x8 aa and x16 af?

That cheap video card will rob your system of decent game performance. Why you people persist at being stingy about the most important part of the PC when you want to play games is beyond me !

A real, actual, discrete video card is the single most important part of a PC that will be able to play games. No question that omits mention of that will be answered, naturally.

I have purchased a new PC and was wondering how well it is going to handle some new games, such as UT3 and COD 4.

The specs are as follows:

AMD Athlon 6400+ Black Edition CPU (3.2ghz with great overclocking potential)

2GB DDR2 667MHz/PC2-5300 CL5 Non Ecc 1.8V RAM

ASUS 2600XT 256MB GDDR3 Dual DVI HDCP HDTV out PCI-E Graphics Card

MSI K9MM-V Socket AM2 onboard VGA 6 Channel Audio mATX motherboard

500 Watt Power Supply

Running Vista and using a 20" Widescreen Flatscreen etc Monitor.

Please reply this is quite important to me.
