In all seriously competition is always good so hopefully AMD can string this around before Nvidia Price Gouges us and pull's an Intel.

I'm always hearing people complain that Intel is "price gouging" people with their chips...
I just don't see it.
I can go buy a i5 2500k, basically the best gaming CPU on the planet, for $199. This is less expensive than AMD offerings that perform worse in most game applications.
I got my i7 930 two years ago when it was a top of the line chip (and still rapes anything I throw at it) for $199.
Sure, you can spend a grand on a CPU if you want to. You can go buy a Bugatti Veyron to go grocery shopping if you want to.
Is it an option? Sure
Is it remotely necessary? Nope
Every industry on the planet offers extremely high-end options for their respective products for those few individuals who MUST have the absolute best.
It's not "gouging"...it's just smart business.
If there were no AMD, that 2500k would be a 6GHz single core 65nm pentium 4 derivative. ANd it would cost 600 dollars.
