I just picked up KOTOR, Deadspace and LFD2. I only ever buy games on steam that are on the weekend deal or some kind of deal. Its like Batman AA. I wanted it in day of release but knew steam would do a deal on it after about a month, so waited. Picked it up yesterday for half price!!!
You can disable Vsync, though it will introduce screen tearing bud. If you have a great background for PC Games then Dead Space controls will certainly disappoint, granted it seem much more efficient to just strafe kill enemies in my playthroughs. On multiple scenarios there will be 4-5 enemies on screen making it horrendous to navigate in the space with the rubbish controls.
I can put up with a lot of things but control issues is not one of them. Thanks for the advice Wouldn't this game work with a 360 controller? Or some other controller..I got Dead Space :) any tips or fix that i should do before playing the game?Dante2710
If the mouse controls feel sluggish, toggle the VSync option. Other than that, the game should be fine.

okay, will do once im done downloading the game. :DIf you're using Vsync then I highly recommend maximizing the mouse sensitivity in the options(Still wasn't enough for me personally).Exactly. I bought it on release day and ended up playing it for less than an hour because of how terrible the aiming felt.Stay well away from dead space unless you're happy to aim with a control pad. No amount of tinkering can fix the shoddy mouse control.

There are multiple factors(Speed is only one of them); the aiming is inconsistent and insufficient in durability.
People who don't pick up KoToR for $2.49, deserved to be punched square in the groin. The only valid excuse is already owning it.

The game was fine for me. I honestly didn't notice anything wrong with the controls until after I'd finished it and everyone was complaining about it.
If they ever felt a bit slow, I just assumed it was intentional - you're not supposed to be a total killing machine, just an engineer caught in a bad situation.
Nothing wrong with the controls in dead space. Problem is PC gamers are expecting twitch based mouse movements on a game which wasn't designed for that. Best thing to do though is just use a gamepad. There's no exscuse for not having a gamepad for the PC in this day and age. Xbox360 wired gamepad is one of the best, costs not much at all and it works flawlessly on the PC.
I hope my mom will be able to pick up L4D2 at the EB Games near my house. If not, I don't know if she'll go for steams deal.... KOTOR seams liek a good deal though, so maybe I'll pick that up too. ^^
Actually, if I can't get L4D2, maybe I'lljust go with Serious Sam HD, and KOTOR.
The real problem is that the controlsarebad. Gears of War for the PC is third person based and controls far better then Dead Space. Attempting to create fiction for rubbish controls is quite hysterical, lol...Nothing wrong with the controls in dead space. Attempting to create fiction for rubbish controls is quite hysterical, lol... Gears is not a survival horror game. And I heared it's not very good on the PC anyway. If you could control the character in Dead Space like you could a character in a typical FPS, ie 360s in under a second and pin point precision. Then the game would have nothing to it. As the game builds atmosphere and tension by constricting the players speed and movement. You're in a heavy metal suit, you're not supposed to be moving without restriction. Everything is working as intended, if you can't get your head around the fact that your not supposed to be doing twitch based movements with the mouse then just use a gamepad.[QUOTE="ShimmerMan"]

Both Gears and Dead Space are third person games with Sci-fi elements in the back end(Gears characters are wearing far more armor with multiple weaponry and more muscle definition on the characters). Dead Space rubbish controls adds absolutely nothing but frustration for a large majority of PC Gamers, due to controls are erroneous.[QUOTE="ShimmerMan"]

Yeah i have one aswell for when my friends come over who are not use to keyboard and mouse. I tried Deadspace with keyboard and mouse first, then went straight to the 360 controller after about 10mins of playing it with mouse and keyboard.
It really is one of the only games that ive played that is actually better with a controller then a keybaord and mouse

Is it very bad, or is it like Borderlands bad when mouse smoothing is enabled?
Some pretty good sales so far. If you haven't played KOTOR you should get it right away. I wonder what they'll have tomorrow. Also, if you want to get Borderlands, I saw it for $20 on amazon here.
EDIT: Nevermind, it looks like they raised the price of Borderlands to $39.99. Luckily I put it in my cart while it was still $19.99 and still got it for that price :). Hooray for Amazon and Steam sales !
So I'm ready to pick up some games today, but eager to know if there are any other deals for games? For Steam the only game I'm interested in is KOTOR(Though finished on the Xbox platform), while I will be primarily buying from D2D.

Steam, D2D and Impulse are the best imo.
There is also GOG.com and Gamersgate aswell.
Impulse had a great deal on Sins Of A Solar Empire and also Gothic3 Gold Pack and some others.

10$ for Sins, lol... Marvelous!Never again will I bother with D2D or Impulse for buying games online. One big hassle to buy games, from accounts ect. Just put everything on Steam and call it, please.
Couldn't get a complete transaction on D2D, so I que a ticket for about 20 minutes only then to be recommend to my bank. I then made a paypal account(More accounts)but I don't trust stored data on a server so I got rid of the account. So now I'm out of games only available on D2D, but wait Impulse has one of the games out of my previous list that I wanted to buy(Yipee). I filled all the info then continued, but it required an account(More accounts), then I needed to installed software, and then finally made the checkout; "The purchase is being process for 1 business day"(Are you kidding me, just give me the freaking game), so I re-log on the site to only then not see the processing purchase, so I don't even know if I will be billed within the next day.
Now my mouse wheel isn't working properly. Just another day of a Life of a PC Gamer.
In happier news, I just bought Majesty 2. Bringing my purchase list up to THQ Complete Pack, GRiD and Majesty. Come to a grand total of around £37. Now I just hope the rest of the sales on Steam don't impress me, 'cause I still need to buy christmas presents for people :x

So true. I had the same problem when I bought Battlefield 2. Annoying as hell. Though that was EA Games download store. It's getting to the point where if I didn't have Mozilla to keep track of all my passwords there is no way I would remember em all. Pretty rediculous.

Sorry to hear that bud, for me ive had no problems with D2D or Impulse, although I do preffer Steam still the most.
The only site where i had issues was Gamersgate.
I'd love to take advantage of all these sales, but in Australia our ISP's are pretty crap. I only have 40 gigs download and if I downloaded all the games I wanted I would quickly go over my limit and have to pay more money :(

I gave in to paypal and miraculously the purchase worked for Impulse, however being an optimistic there was also some win, resulting in me using my additional money for different games that are reviewed really well within the community which weren't on my list. The amount of confirms you need to do to get a game download started for Impulse is indeed hilarious, it makes you feel like a criminal.

You don't need to download and play them all right now.
Buy some cheap high quality games that's on sale as a future investment. If you use the steam store at all that is.

i definitely prefer D2D over Steam. i like being able to actually download and store your purchase, and i never had any problems with the transaction. the only problem i have with it is those damn country restrictions
