Indeed, Subligars are very "Barbarian" ish, which is what a Warrior is. I dunno our Gladiator had mostly metal or padded armor, either way, it doesn't stay that way shouldn't that be common sense to you all? its low level gear. you think warriors/gladiators are wearing bikinis endgame? thats the artifact sets ^ a paladin will look like this upon hitting level 50 and doing his class quest: (except the eye patch, normally its a crown.) this is the old version of the darklight armor they get for doing the end-game 4 mans: cant find pictures of 2.0s, looks more "roman" those are bought with I can't find any pictures

oh nvm i found an image:

crafters have started to hit 50 too and so i am seeing a lot more crafted armor sets.... which are completely unique looking.

I said Paladin but I mean gladiator and you do not get the plate looking gear until around lvl 15ish. And yes I had a green bathing suit right before I got that armor. Why are you so up my a$$ about it? If I don't like the game or the art direction then I don't like the damn game. I never said anything bad about it, just that it was not my taste.

Like others have said, armors get better later on. Kinda makes sense how you progress from scraps and lighter armor to better and more proper armor as you advance. While bikini platemail might look a little silly, it really isnt that bad. Problem is when the endgame armor (you know, what you will probably be wearing for most of the game) looks like it was designed by chimpanzees with crayons. And with FFXIV it doesnt look to be the case.

As for oyur second sentence. There is over the top, and there is trying way too hard to be over the top.

Enitrely remake a failed game from the bottom up (except art assests obviously) into a game people would love. well only time will tell but so far my expecatations were met, and the possibiltiies of where this can go are stellar.

Never in recetn years have I been challenged by leveling dungeon content (well some of them at least) .... and the 8 mans that are currently in are awesome. soon 2 24 mans and more 8 mans....

Housing, chocobo breeding, gold saucer (FF7 giant theme park/casino/amusement area of the game with minigames) confirmed Chocbo racing, and likely built in card game.... are just all little things that make the experiance that much better.

Apperently Odin at 10% starts charging Zantendesukin (sp?) if hes not killed in the following 10 seconds he instantly slices EVERYONE in 2 instantly killing everyone who is in combat with him. and he wanders around zones! and makes his own weather effect "Hopelessness".

ITs the ultimate fan service for any final fantasy fan, and its a damn good theme park mmo. more so than the crock that has come in recent years.

Reading your posts really make me want to play the game.

Seems like it is a pretty good final fantasy game AND a good themepark mmo (I actually dont mind themeparks, as long as they are well done, despite my inner cravings for a good sandbox).

Been trying to fight Titan Hard but the parties I get in can only get to phase 5 and then they suddenly can't dodge.

Best I done was getting Titan down to 20% hp.

Been trying to make money but it's going slow now....

I think the majority of people raving about this game must just be into FF. I can't get into it either, no inspiration to play it at all. I thought it was the crappy launch but I tried playing it some more and it is just boring to me. I don't get the whole FF thing either, I'm a traditional fantasy dude personally. Give me some elves, dwarves, and orcs any day over this wierdness.

And this leveling is nothing like GW2, it is more the traditional WoW thing. But yes I agree GW2 lacked drive to level because you really had nothing to look forward to after unlocking all of your weapon skills and the better slot skills.

I like it when there is actually some fantasy put in my fantasy settings. So glad modern fantasy settings are starting to move away from the lolelves theme, and the settings are getting less and less inspired by Middle Earth and Forgotten Realms.

This game the Elezen remind me a lot of elves.

I don't get the "weirdness". There are humans/barbarian humans. Elves - pretty stanrard elves. Midget people, only cute instead of gnomes that replicate real "tiny people" .... alot more interesting if you ask me and have more personality. Cat People..... really that weird? Roedagarn, I guess orc equivilant but not ugly ass holes. that and armour styles, ok alittle flamboyant, other than the subgligar more tasteful than most games. though this stuff is all preference. The monsters ect in this far outclass most MMORPGs.MBirdy88

The Japanese personally is just so different than stuff made in the US. To me personally it is weird...or maybe just a bit strange compared to what I'm used to.

The art style, the music...and the strange looking little people that look like kids from speedracer. It's just that anime style type of stuff does not go well for some people in the US I think....personally I hate it. But that's just me...I know lots of people love it so to each their own.

First off No this isn't the first MMO with people walking around naked, it was in WoW (people would seriously strip and dance on mail boxes for gold), Swtor, AoC, GW2, GW1, Rift, FF11, Tera and even in FF14 ARR so not it's not just in FF14 ARR, it's in any MMO that has a undress option.

Secondly majority of those people questing naked are people who sold their lvl 1 or "race specific" gear not knowing that you can always re equip when ever you start another class or profession.

Also I know you're a GW2 player and I know there's some skimpy armor in that game so don't play that "FF14 ARR is the first MMO I've played were people basically ran around in skimpy/almost nude armor" card cause that's pretty much in EVERY MMO western and eastern. I tried but it just did not work. It's just not for me...never have been a fan of the anime look and feel of games from Japan. But I did try and I think that the game is pretty good...it's just the personality in it that is difficult for me.

I am tempted to buy this from GetgamesGo w/ the discounted price. Hmmm HMMM.  Although, I never really liked the art style.  Gameplay seems/looks static and I could be wrong.
