Well, I just bought a couple of blu rays Thurs & Friday, so I will post my new ones & old ones....

Old ones

Talladega Nights (Came with my launch 60 gb)

Kung Fu Hustle

Ice Age 2

TMNT

Blood Diamonds

The Aviator

We Own The Night

New Ones

Inception

The Incredible Hulk

I AM LEGEND

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Mondern Family: Season 1

Seven Swords

I was thinking about getting DBZ Kai on blu ray, but they are saying it will only go up to cell & as a collector that would make my Kai collection incomplete by my standards.

I don't have that many. A while back, I had to sell almost all of my DVDs. I have a shelf that's about a foot and a half away from the ceiling full of them but hard times call for hard decisions and I had to sell 'em to a pawn shop. I only have 3 Blue Rays. Inglourious Basterds (g/fs parents still have it, been over a year)), Kick Ass (my friend still has it, been over a year) and Kickboxer (still haven't watched it).

The Batman Movie (Adam West version)

Interview with a Vampire

Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles Season 2

True Blood Season 1

Gunslinger Girl Seasons 1 & 2

I'm probably going to get the Sarah Conner Chronicles Season 1 eventually.

Lol. Spider Man 3 was worth misplacing. I can't talk because I don't know where my We Own The Night is.

I only got my PS3 in January, and don't own any other blu-ray players. So the only blu-rays I've bought so far are Sin City and Tron: Legacy. Both great films that look utterly stunning in HD though. That said, I had no idea The Aviator was on Blu-Ray. I may need to pick that up.

No, I only buy blu-rays of movies I really want to see... the last one I bought was Scott Pilgrim. Tron Legacy will be my next one and probably my last for a while.

Otherwise, I don't really buy movies, if you know what I mean.

Did you enjoy Scott Pilgrim? I read the novel, but I didn't get the chance to see the film.

If anything, it's about as close as they're going to get to cramming a six volume manga into a 2 hour movie. I thought it was an incredible movie on it's own, and it still managed translate the same charm the book had. My only gripe was that they left out a bunch of stuff, including the whole backstory between Scott and Envy, Scott's past relationship with Lisa as well as Lisa's character entirely, the whole scenario where Knives' dad chased Scott through the streets with a kitana, and Joseph, Stephen Stills' gay lover.

In fact, Stephen Stills was straight throughout the whole movie.

Oh, and they left out the fight between Ramona and Envy... which was the most saddening part, because it would have been sick to see.

But if they had put all that stuff in, the movie would have to be a trilogy and I don't think it had the kind of publicity to pull that off, not like Marvel or DC productions. The film was more of a sleeper hit, lol.

You definitely need to see it. It's my second favorite movie of all-time.

I do the exact same thing. I like the ones that come with the digital download as well. I mean you get the Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital Copy for $29.99 at most places if you wait a month. It's a steal.

I have 20 blu-rays, I pretty much buy nothing but blu rays as of now unless I can find the DVD for much cheaper. Although, I'm definitely not going to be replacing my DVD collection, that would just be way too much time and money. So yeah, here's my collection: The Dark Knight Watchnmen The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (My second favorite movie of all time:D) Inglourious Basterds Grindhouse (The one that has both movies AND the trailers) The Terminator Terminator 2 (My favorite movie of all time:D) District 9 Dirty Harry Total Recall Christmas Vacation The Hurt Locker The Expendables Inception 2001: A Space Odyssey A Clockwork Orange The Shining Full Metal Jacket Goldfinger From Russia with Love I'm trying to build a Stanley Kubrick collection on blu-ray, I got his major work but I still need Dr.Strangelove, not even sure if that's on blu-ray. I also realized something: I have a lot of older movies than I do newer ones. Oh well, they don't make 'em like they used to :P

I don't own a lot of blu-rays atm, but I am planning on expanding my collection.

  • Casino Royale
  • Inception
  • Ip Man
  • Namie Amuro Past.Future Tour
  • Sweeney Todd
  • The Dark Knight
  • The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
  • The Matrix
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas

The next blu-rays I'm going to buy are A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars more. Target usually has them for like $5 - $10.

It came out a few months ago, as well as her Play tour on blu-ray. It's expensive though, but I got it as a X-mas gift :) And yes, the blu-ray works on a US PS3.

Too many to list, most recently I picked up Yojimbo/Sanjuro boxset for $28.99 and I'll probably pick up a few at Best Buy this week (Event Horizon and Resident Evil for $7.99 seems pretty good, thinking about those).

Although I learned my lesson with DVD because I had a HUUUUGE DVD collection, that I probably was only able to sell for 1/10th of what I paid for them. I basically just tried to dump as much of that collection as I could, especially for things I knew I wanted to get on blu-ray, or that I knew were still worth enough money to bother selling (too many DVD's, you can't even get $2 for anymore). I'm basically done with DVD and only a few movies I care about on DVD haven't been released on blu-ray yet. I'm being alot more choosy about blu-rays and picking them up at a much slower pace. I would say about 75% of my collection on blu has been picked up around black Friday from Amazon, through the WB trade in program, and at prices in the $5-$10 range when there are really good sales.

It came out a few months ago, as well as her Play tour on blu-ray. It's expensive though, but I got it as a X-mas gift :) And yes, the blu-ray works on a US PS3.

Thanks.

Any movie that I buy now I buy on blu-ray, but I don't buy that many.

It's mainly the Disney line as they come out that Im getting.

My god! I was wondering when someone was going to mention Disney in their comment. I am thinking about getting The Lion King when it comes in 3D/Blu ray format. I am also getting The Legends Of The Guardians (even though it's not Disney related) now. I heard The Legend Of The Guardians was a great film for blu ray/3D.

It wasn't directed in a sense to ask people why they would stop buying blu rays. Some people aren't buying movies AT ALL any longer, so I just wanted to know if people were still buying blu rays. :)

Because it's inevitably a dead format?

I still buy right now because blu-ray = best commercially available way to watch. So for my favorite movies I will go ahead and make the jump to blu-ray. But in the future as digital streaming technology improves, it can probably get closer to matching blu-ray performance (assuming your internet is fast enough). Basically it would be prudent to not amass a huge collection of plastic discs that will be obsolte in 5-10 years.

How many people had huge collections of DVD's? If you're already replacing worthless/obsolete DVD's, and see digital streaming in the future, it makes sense to at least cut back a bit on blu-ray purchases compared to what you might have done in the past.

Blu Rays will one day take over DVD's. it may take a while but just like when DVD took over VHS one day we will no longer have DVD's

So as of right now My Blu Ray collection consist of

1. Inception

2. Get Him To The Greek

3. Summer Wars

4. 500 Days of Summer

5. Inglorious Bastards

6. Where the Wild Things Are

7. Pinnaple Express

8. Eureka Seven: Good Night Sleep Tight Young Lovers

9. 1st season of Modern Family

It is a small collection but it will grow to be of massive porportions (just like my DVD's)

I don't really buy movies all that often, but when I do it's a bluray. I have a handful of them. Black Swan is my latest purchase. Haven't even watched it yet. Same with Scott Pilgrim. I just don't watch movies at home all that much.

Planet Earth 6 disc set, Shooter, I Am Legend, 28 Weeks Later, When You're Strange (a film about The Doors), Terminator Salvation, and maybe 3 - 4 more I can't remember. Blu-ray is the best.
