Darksiders - Anyone play yet?

Reviews for Darksiders are all over the place. I would rent it first if you're unsure. From the looks of it, it looks a solid 8.0-9.0 game.Elian2530

I have put little over five hours into the game so far and can honestly say the reviews (including Gamespot) are underwhelming, especially the bad controls comments. Either the reviewer didn't had proper time to play the game or this type of game is not his/her cup of tea. The controls works well.

If you were looking forward to the game before, it won't disappoint.

This is one of many times when I have to stress the level of maturity and self thinking. Use your own judgement, no one should influence us to spend our money on something we like, especially a 'number score'...

KK so the 8.0 is in and the thread isnt locked from off topic or angry posters lol. I just finished watching the review and had a couple of chuckles. Overly complicated controls. Well if they were not complicated then the review would have said "repetitive". Plus I really laughed when i was watching him try to multi-target some objects, which he fails to do 3-4 times. During this I keep thinking "if hed only step to the left a little bit" so after the failed attempts he actually steps a little to the left and completes his goal. LOL newbs. Any thoughts? Sucks 360 has those issues, seems like its something possibly patched up? Im not flaming so no flaming responses from fanboys!

I didnt read all eight pages of this thread, but to the person asking about how Darksiders is, I can safely say its a terrific game. I played it for two days now and am not that far into it, but so far its been a solid adventure. It is beautiful visually and the sounds, especially the tweaked voices are stunning, deep and devilish especially if you can play the game on a dolby system. The graphics are sharp and the visual style feels like its taken from a dark comic book.

Overall the game feels a tad like Gears of War with the chunky/beefy soldiers while at the same time the character interactionsfeels like Maximo. Once in awhile I feel like you're Maximo, but the darker and more twisted version of him.

The controls will take you a little bit to get used to and they are not that intuitive at first, but like many other games there is the burn-in time when it will eventually start to feel like second nature.

Bottom line... loads of fun, great story, great characters, amazing and deep universe to explore with a mean maniacal and dark line of characters and events. So far a hugeblast. Nothing better then running around our universe thats been altered by our events, finding devils darkest minions and pissing them off. I highly recommend it. Don't play it to rip it for faults cause it does have some minor ones (every game does). Play it for the fun factor, its saturated with it....

Actually, if he had stated reasons why Bayonetta sucks compared to Darksiders that would have been welcomed. He'd actually be trying to support his claims. Saying Bayonetta sucks with no reasoning behind it doesn't really do anything for the discussion.

I don't want to start an argument though. I have both games and I plan on enjoying both of them. I just think Bayonetta is one of those games people like to bash to get a rise out of some dedicated fans.

No I am not acting like the immature high-schooler that makes fun of people because they are virgins. The picture may be a tad sexual, but than again so is the game Bayonetta. That picture wouldnt be any higher than PG either. No boobs are showing or anything like that, just some animated cleavage.

Ok, he didn't say it (although he's claimed it to be the worst game ever in other threads) but you said it. You didn't say it flat out sucked, but you said it would be bad if he did a *insert paragraph about how bayonetta sucks*. I'd much prefer someone list reasons why a game sucks than say a game is better without any backing behind it. Usually you'd provide reasoning behind claims, but I guess we've reached a point where that stuff isn't important anymore.
