tell me one multiplatform game that has tailored to each platform in every way that it possibly could have. theres no way they will take full advantage of the cell or the sixaxis when they are spreading themselves so thin making it the same on all platforms i agree shoot IMO when the try to make these multi platform games then you get a lower quality product. Capcoms not thinking "lets p--- all the ps3 fans off!" The xbox360 has shipped around 11million to date (a bit less) thats around 9-10 million 360s in the channel, being played by avid gamers. Lets say you have a game that has cost your company most likely over 10 million dollars to produce, advertise, and get the word out. Not only that but its your companys first MAJOR franchise to hit next gen consoles... What is better business choice? Sell to the console that has 2-3 million possible users... which limits you to 2-3million games sold? Or sell for that console AND the console that currently has 10 million users that have constantly spoken out for multiplatform, and are almost a definite sale? Why did the ps3 not get Dead Rising or Lost Planet? Same reason. They were starting new franchises, so why would they risk releasing this new franchise that took millions to produce on a console with 2 million users when they could almost triple their annual sales by doing it on the console that had around 8 million at the time of release (LP). The gaming industry isnt a bunch of kids lining up in the gym and getting picked for dodgeball folks, its about money.
They're doing this because the DMC series basically died to many fans of the series after DMC2's complete and utter failure. DMC3 was a good game but alot of people didn't even give it a try because of their disappointment from the second game. Capcom wants a reassurance on sales so they're taking it multiplatform, which is in my opinion, a p***y move.

All the best games are exclusives exactly, i have a feeling that all we are going to get now is another dmc2- the same game with the same crap and a slightly modified storyline with a diifferent character that looks oh so original.

I think this is pretty bad news. Not for the consoles but for the quality of the game. Exclusive tends to have an higher level of polish, no one can deny that. Also, don't announce a game as exclusive if you can't keep the promise capcom. Now, where is my Dead Rising and Lost Planet if you want so much to bring your games to an wider audience ? The minute u make something mulitplatform and release AT THE SAME time means u r allocating ur resources somewhere else and the game won't be as good as it is intended to be, that is my opinions.. thats what im talking about. IMO expect to see this happen allot more often

Although I own a 360 (for exclusives), I don't really care for MS or it that much outside of that for the sole reason you mentioned: if there is a problem in their way, they throw money at it to get it their way.
I DON'T care about it going multi plat BUT it shouldn't get in the way of the development of the game. It might lose the full potential it could be on one system. I'm not trying to be greedy or be a fanboy, but even in a business sense this is bad when you really analyze it. Think about this... *If this game goes muliplat it will lose some of its quality which could have been spent on developing the game instead of making extra ports for other consoles. *If this happens the devil may cry franchise will lose its credibility and become forgotten. No longer great viable franchise due to bad reviews it might fail.
Anyways, whats done is done. We can't change what they have decided. All I care about is the quality of my product. Capcom don't fail me....

IMO sony needs something like XNA, and contests like the DreamBuildPlay that MS is having....Im entering that contest with a 2d game (check avatar for peek) Its things like me and my friends making games, and all the other 17 year olds that are going to bring new and exciting ideas to the gaming industry. Honestly, i think sony is in the best position to grab these small teams and give them some place to put their games. With what they say LBP will do, and home... i wish XNA (as much as i love it) was also on the ps3. Its not lossing the exclusive what pisses us, but by making it multi you get a watered down version. RE 4 was exclusive to the NGC, later published to the PS 2. It was a watered down version because some specs were lowerm but the game was devoted only to the GC and the gameplay during last gen was almost the same. Now we have different stuff, if you have a game for the PS 3 you also have the 6axis, which adds to gameplay (and dont start the stupid kiddy talk of motion is stupid, because would have been MS the one to use it you would be saying "Oh its the awesome"). Now being for 3 things we will get a non dedicated game, that will not use any system to its fullest.

Boss, "Nah, keep it the way it is, its easier to program for, we did this part of the stage on the xbox 360 already".

Exactly, and Its Capcom the company that doesnt have a good history of Ports, Onimusha 3 for the PC should be a good example.

because ppl invested alot of money n a system that they though was goign to have this as an exclusive game, and by it not it ruins the sales fo the cosole and there by ruins the chance of the console getting other exclusives because its helping sell more of the other console thats already winning. if one console out has sold 28 million on the other 5 mill, which do you think they would develope an exclusive for to make them money? the on with the bigger user base obviously. im not a fan of DMC, but this is just another knife to the back from capcom to sony. its very dissapointing to see sony in this downward spiral. cause i too invested in this sytem. and sony is jsut drowning now. this is very bad news.

Not to troll xbox forum or anything but I checked over there to see them gloating. Everyone's saying how great it will be now. There is another poll in there with gow3 saying wouldn't it be cool if it came over. Everyone saying the dislike it. I bet you if it does go over (praying it doesn't) they will all be saying how great gow is.

if you say youre upset out of loyalty. . .loyalty to who? loyalty to sony? they put crap in the ps3 that isn't necessary for gaming, then they make you pay for it. sony has an alterior motive with the ps3 and thats to win the next gen dvd format war ! they're not loyal to you or they would have let you choose what you wanted instead of forcefeeding bluray down your throats ! go ahead and stay loyal to sony, enjoy your bluray player !

we shall enjoy our bluray player o_o.. we paid for what is believed to last 10 years :| i know thats why i paid. and with the ps3 capable of installing linux.. and practically my other comp...why should i complain? sure it may be expensive... but so is a 8800 video card :T .. you don't see everyone stopping to buy it.
I haven't played a DMC game since the original. I wouldn't have played DMC 4 anyway. I also woudn't play Lost Planet or Dead Rising if they came over to PS3. I'm looking forward to a much better list of games. I do agree that multiplatform games 4 the most part are watered down versions of what they could be if they were exclusive. An exclusive game designed with a systems strengths in mind will definately be better than a port. We'll see if in the future the PS3 becomes the lead platform for the majority of multi plat games.
In the end, I think Capcom made a b**** move, they could have focused their intentions on making the 4th iteration of DMC into a truly special game, instead it seems they sold out. But we'll have to wait and see how the two versions compare.
