Iplayed Final Fantasy when I was in junior high at my friend's house. He was the one who had the 1st playstation that I knew. At the time I had Nintendo 64, so I've never seen any other consoles. When I went to hang out at his house, he was playing Final Fantasy VII. I watched him play for the entire night & decided I had to get a playstation 1 & Final Fantasy VII. Ever since then, I've ownedPlaystation 1, 2 & 3 consoles including all Final Fantasy games except FFXI.
A bit late but since I'm only 14, it was Final Fantasy X, but then after I beat that I rushed back for VII and worked up to XII.legofan712

X is my favorite last gen game. :)
Well, I was 11 and I was at a boarding school, and I saw some scenes from FFVII. I remember at the time I said that Mario RPG was better or something like that and I wasn't interested. However, the images I saw would keep popping in my head for years and when I turned 16, I bought a PSone and FFVII was my first game. And I have never looked back since. FFVII is my favorite game of all time. It was then and it still is, and even with some really great games that I've played, none have come as close to my heart as FFVII did. It was one wild ride, emotional, poignant and just epic.C-Himura
haha i have never tried that mario rpg, but when its a thing you can buy with wii points online imma buy that
Think the first i ever played was FF7,
me and a friend went to buy a new game. Somethingjust cought my eye about FF7, so i decided to pick it uppand both off us have been hooked on the series ever since. Played almost every single game there is in the series(the main ones) now.
I never had a ps1 (well my cousin did but they never bought an FF game), but I had a pc, but never picked up an FF game either. My first FF game personally was FFX. My ps2 was only about a month old, and a feeling grew inside of me that I might have wasted my money getting it. You see at that point in time I had pretty much gotten fed up with all forms of entertainment, be it movies, music or tv shows. And slowly I was getting bored with games. The only reason I got FFX was because gamespot gave it the 'best story of the year award', said it had the best graphics (at that time) for the ps2, and was awed by X-play's (extended play at that time) review. Heck gamespot even did 5 pages for it's review! I remember the last image from X-play's review being shiva snapping her finger. I said to myself I need this game, God help me if I'm getting bored with gaming, but I need to try FFX out.
But I didn't have high hopes. See thing is, I've seen the series played by my friend before. And I always thought the concept of RPG's to be stupid. Taking turns fighting? Random battles? Why do all these characters appear during cutscenes and battles, yet when your walking on a road, it's just one person? where the heck do they go??? My friend showed me both FFVIII and FFIX and I was not impressed. So I didn't have high hopes for FFX, especially when the battles kicked in and walla, turn-based.
But oh how that all changed. Playing through FFX, every step got better and better. The story, characters, really everything was awesome. About half-way through I knew this was the best game I'd ever played. At first I put it second behind C&C REd Alert, then on equal ground with the excuse they're both totally different games, but then it just zoomed off ahead into first place. And yes, I got a bit teary eyed with the ending. I played that game everyday for about a month. And really it was the only thing that saved my enjoyment of entertainment media. I finally realized how good a story could be, better than any movie, music better than any album, just a great experience. Better than any game (And still my best game).
So ffx got me started, then X-2, which although inferior to ffx, I think too much criticism has been labeled at it. It had an ok story, great battle mechanics, and you got to revisit Spira. Although flashed out with unwanted over-flamboyance, it still had heart. I then played ffviii up to a certain point. But the story got a bit irritating and so I haven't been bothered to finish it. I've also played ffxii, completed that, and I will say it was a worthy entrance to the series, but God I hope the battle system is improved on, and don't skimp on story and character development. I've also played ffvii, but due to certain things have only played through about 5-6 hours. But those hours were much better than all the time i spent on ffviii. I've just started ffix, and it looks promising. Might go back and re-start ffvii (esp given crisis core is coming out soon), then finish up fftactics: wotl (battles got irritating, but story is very interesting).
God that was too long. But that is my story (heh). ALthough I didn't much care for ffxii, I have high hopes for ffxiii. And last thing i'll say is Final Fantasy (X) is one of the best things to happen in my life. Cheerios!

wow hahah quite a long story. Well X was a pretty good turining point in the Final Fantasy series. If sony and square enix actually DO make a remake of FinalFantasy7 i would say that its a game you would really enjoy. Final Fantasy 7 was what made the series XD!!! it probably had the best characters, really good story, very fun *Though ugly in original* Weve seen remakes of course but not all of them were comfirmed *note*Techdemo for FFVII On PS3*Note* haha but if they did that would be awesome, and 12 was horrible, goood story, good characters, bad way to portray the game, the hunts would have been fun if there were 20 but not 100 -_- and also they took out the "dual wield" that tactics had made which i loved. also the battle system of 12 got kind of annoying at times but it was still a great experiment and it worked
i started with 7 and have been in love ever since. i got the anthology and 6 was awesome ( didn't really care for 5 )
loved 8 to death. wasn't totally into 9. I didn't have a ps2 so i just ordered 10 to play on meh ps3 it will be here tuesday woot.
Played 11 online and it was pretty cool, not as good as WoW.
12 was cool but i don't like how much they changed it up...
My first was FFX, then I played VII then VIII. After that X-2 and XII. I went back using emulation to play FF1-VI.
My favorite is still X, and my second favorite is VIII
FFX.
I was 7 and I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew it was an RPG, like Pokemon, so I figured higher Sphere Level = stronger characters.
lol, Nope.
I went through many strategy guides, cheat codes and failed gamesharks before I found out that there was no level system and that the only way to make the party stronger was by using the sphere grid.
How old are you? 16? :DFFX.

lol, 18. Maybe I was 9...?
It was a while ago.
Was a casual gamer many years ago, I had a PS1 and I never looked at reviews, talked about games to other people, watched trailers etc...... (those were the good ol days) and I was in a store planning on buying a new game and I saw Final Fantasy VII and I thought hey i'll give this one a shot looks cool and I was freakin mindblown! I went back and played all the games before it and i've played every game released after it. Greatest series ever, will always be a fan and I'm also very curious to see how many games they'll get to before they call it quits, i'm calling FFXXX.
Christmas of 1999, I got my first PS1, and with it, the just released Final Fantasy VIII. Was amazed at the graphics during the cutscenes and gameplay :) Been hooked ever since.
I never knew someone could dodge Final Fantasy IX like that.My first was FFX, then I played VII then VIII. After that X-2 and XII. I went back using emulation to play FF1-VI.

i have never really played a final fantasy game, but i loved kingdom hearts. the only final fantasy game i have played is final fantasy crisis core and the was made by the kingdom hearts team. im more of an action rpg gamer than the turn based system
Well, I played Kingdom Hearts before Final Fantasy. And you know the character Leon (Squall) in KH? My friend showed me FF8 and i was like Heeeey, it's the same guy. That's what initially got me into the game. Then my friend also had FF9. I bought and beat FF10 on PS2. Downloaded and beat FF7 on my PC. Bought FF12 a few months ago, but my PS3 got YLOD so I lost my entire file like 15 hours in. Then I just bought FF8 from the PS Store so I can actually play through it. I'm on disc 2 right now.
Deciding to rent FF7 twice after seeing the commercial is what started me on RPG's. Since then I've went back and beaten ff3 on up.
So you originated from the Kingdom Hearts world. That's just like originating from the Naruto/Bleach world. That being: You're missing oh so much.i have never really played a final fantasy game, but i loved kingdom hearts. the only final fantasy game i have played is final fantasy crisis core and the was made by the kingdom hearts team. im more of an action rpg gamer than the turn based system

I was 6 or 7 at the time and my mom brought me to rent movies from some local video store. They had Final Fantasy II in a case at the register and I asked my mom for it. She said no :-(
but a few days later she brought it home for me, and after that I was hooked.
The problem was I never finished it before we returned it and when my birthday came around I couldn't remember what it was called. My dad brought me to Toys R Us and I ended up getting Final Fantasy MQ instead. I was disappointed but I enjoyed it anyway.
So for Christmas that year I was surprised with Final Fantasy III, which still wasn't what I was looking for but great none the less.
I didn't get to beat FFII until I was about 12.
