I do agree with the statement "to each his own" but DSPX statement basicly says yeah i like crappy shooters(well in his opinion there good) and theres allot more people that like games like that basicy run and gun shooters with no innovation(nectar is not an innovation IMO its a gimmick IMO).
But i thinks its a problem that gamers will accept poor games, they buy them so pubs/devs will continue to make them we have had countless crap fps games over the last two years and if they didnt sell at all /pubs/devs would think twice before releasing crap, but because there cheap to make and can turn a profit(turok/blacksite) they will keep making them.

And thats why I said that. Some people are ok with average games as he is but for me I wont support any game that isn't great because if we support crappy games then there is no incentive for developers to put in the amount of time it takes to create a great game.
Yea this is blatant hate for a game that just happens to be a PS3 exclusive. The most disturbing thing about it if you read the post is that people are HAPPY that the game got the 1 bad review that it currently has from IGN. You would think most people would want this game to succeed regardless of how much it was hyped and care less about the I told you so factor. Whats really sad also is the same I told you so people are making a judgment on a finalized product that they are STILL yet to play and are saying that one critics review matters (IGN) but another critics opinion doesn't (Famitsu) if its based off a review for you then what makes any one source the bible and others irrelevant? I would expect to see talk like this on system wars but on on the PS3 forums where I would expect to see gamers wanting their chosen console and software to excel and not try to bash and discourage others from experiencing it for themselves first hand. As I have said I can care less who says what about the game, once I pick up the game I can make my own judgment and not depend on any critic.ajthelegend
"Yea this is blatant hate for a game that just happens to be a PS3 exclusive"
Yeah there was also blatant hype when the game became a PS3 exclusive, it was average while it was multi-platform.
This is just how i judge games, i will read previews for months before release, watch gameplay vids, take into account developer/franchise history and a demo when possible and most the time i know what games i want and pre-order them online before a review is even out, only sometimes i will wait for reviews and then i will read several reviews from sites i find reputable and make a decision then.
But a game your on the fence about these reviews can be real handy, they can let you know of bad bugs that hamper the game expierence other than that reviews dont mean much to me i can usually spot a good game i will enjoy just through watching gameplay vids.
Ive wasted plenty of money(well my parents) before the days of the internet when the only option i had was looking at the back of the box in the shop(im 26 and have been gaming since the late 80's, im sure allot of people here grew up with the internet) my mam used to get sick to death waiting in the shop while i had five boxes in my hand and could not decide but i only used to get 1 game every 3 months or s, so it was a big deal to me to get the right game and plenty of occasions i got home and after 10 mins wished i bought the other game.
Gladly now im an adult and can buy all the games i want but i do my research first, if a game is looking poor IMO i dont just buy it and make my mind up afterwards, i will rent games im on the fence about but hey to each to his own.

I was just replying to your commet because i think its a problem among gamers today and i got the feeling from your comment you had the same opinion, and also i was just being lazy as i read his comment then click for the next page and instead of going back i just replied on your comment, it was not really directed toward you, sorry if i give the wrong impression.
i'm reli annoyed by the fact tht the PS3 exclusive isnt gd....meanin we cant put one over the Xbox....god where did allthis hype come from?nellyg619
Thats excatly the problem, allot of people are not annoyed that the game is poor there annoyed as this was an oppertunity to get 1UP over the other set of fangirls, the times we live in now is pathetic, where did all this deep emotion for a piece of electrical equipment come from, i find it quite weird.
I support Newcastle united football club, infact id say i loved them, because im from england and football is more than a sport to us and also am born and raised in newcastle by family who have supported newcastle for over 100 years, Sony/Microsoft are coparations in buisness that make software/hardware why on earth do people argue/protect/maintain loyalty to these companies its pathetic.
Im a gamer i like playing games, i like gadgets and electrical equipment but i certainly have no emotional attachment or a sense of loyalty to any gaming company, i buy all consoles as thats the only way possible to play all the great GAMES on offer through out the generation.
Being a fangirl(bickering like girls) is the lowest form of a gamer, the pond life of gaming.
I was with you on your post until you said "cant put one over" on a rival console.
Ever since I signed up for forums, I never bashed or put down the rival systems. I went through system wars a couple of times and I couldn't believe the immaturity there. Some 360 players may feel the same as this nelly guy but why should you stoop to their level and say the same thing or vice versa? At this time, I only have the PS3, with no intentions of getting a 360. But just because I like the PS3 or you can say I "favor" it, doesn't mean I should bash 360 or any other rival console and games, regardless my reasons for not owning them. If I was a 360 owner, I would have enjoyed games like Gears of War or Bioshock and other exclusives (timed or not).
So the fact that this guy was really hoping for Haze to be so good that he would brag about having a better game or having "one up" on what the 360 might have to offer, just shows how immature and foolish one can be. If you are all about wanting to get over the rival console or talk trash about it saying, "My system/games is/are better than your system/games" then what's the point of gaming?
Let's get this straight. Whether you have a PS3, 360, Wii or all three, every gamer deserve great games!

[QUOTE="gekidami"][QUOTE="Deominator"][QUOTE="gekidami"][QUOTE="mystery1932"]im not a sony fanboy, ima FRD fanboy. the game got harsh reviews cause the multiplayer didnt hold up.
moshakirby18
But that cant be the case because the IGN review spends so much time down talking the plot it barely mentions the multiplayer, actually gameplay in the review is only a side note, the reviewer hated the story with a passion.
That might have something to do with other games in the genre that have had such good storylines that a game with a bad one just doesn't cut it these days.
Wha...? is that sarcasum? What was the last FPS you played?
Exactly! Coming off a year where we got Bioshock, Call Of Duty 4, Halo 3, GRAW 2, Metroid Prime 3, Crysis, The Darkness, Orange Box, Timeshift and Unreal Tournament 3 there was really no chance for Haze and that's why they pushed it back. I would figure that is the same reason that Army Of Two was pushed back as well even though it's not FPS. There have been way too many good shooters in the last year. Timeshift is better than Haze and it got nailed with 6.0-6.5 scores nearly everywhere.
If anyone really wants to buy a FPS and they already have all the obvious ones, then I would suggest Timeshift or The Darkness to them over Haze.

I own a PS3 and I'm glad that Haze is mediocre. It was delayed too many times and hyped so hard that once I played the demo for myself and saw with my own eyes on my glorious 1080p Samsung how average and uninspired it is that I was happy about my cautious opimism for the game.
I would have loved for Haze to be a great title, but it's not. It wouldn't matter if it were an exclusive either as I have all 3 consoles. Many of us have 2 or 3 of the current consoles. If Haze had been good then who would I brag to? Would I hold the case in front of my 360 and proclaim to it that it can't play Haze and is therefore inferior?
Lastly, critics are gamers. I only trust IGN and EGM now that most others have shown that their review scores are for sale. IGN is not on the take from anyone. If they werethen why did they score so many Sega Dreamcast games highly? And yet that console failed.
The success of the PS3 was not hinged on Haze. MGS4 is coming soon and there are plenty of others coming after that. Those games will define the PS3 and not one person will even remember Haze a couple years from now.
While this game may be not as good as resistance, COD4, etc, I still found the demo fun, even with all of the crappy dialogue. I dont care what reviews say for this game, and didnt with LAIR either, I finished Lair, it was fun( Easy to control for me) but didnt have any replay value. The same will probably go for HAZE, but I am still getting it regardless.
While I think Haze is rather mediocre in its design, a 4.5 seems a bit harsh compared to completely awful games like Turning Point and Hour of Victory, which scored higher than Haze on IGN.BenderUnit22
I enjoyed the demo more than i enjoyed the entire game of Hour of Victory. This score is waaaay too low. I was expecting no less than a 7 at the LEAST.

Have you played the retail copy of the game or are you just talking to talk? Even if you did play it I highly doubt you'd give it a chance, you're mind seemed made up that the game would suck. And besides, I doubt you've even played it.

I downloaded and played the demo and have read the reviews. Haze is nothing special. I own all of those shooters that I listed in my other post. They are all far better than Haze in graphics, audio, gameplay, multiplayer, story, you name it. Stop trying to make a barely average game a success. My 360 and Wii don't cry when I bring home a good game for my PS3. Like I said before, I have all 3 consoles. I wanted Haze to live up to the hype, but it didn't and the reviews are starting to trickle in and prove that it wasn't just the demo that was bad. Even GS scored the game a 6.0, which is not horrible but not worth dropping cash on with MGS 4 just a few weeks away.
Why do you want/need Haze to succeed anyway? Do you own a bunch of stock in Ubisoft? No? Didn't think so.

Well, you could buy Haze and score it whatever you like here on GS. You could even write a review. You can do anything if you believe in yourself Billy!

Firstly, I don't want/need Haze to succeed in any way. I'm buying the game regardless of reviews, I for one enjoyed the demo, and do not think IGNs review justified a score of 4.5. No I don't own a bunch of stock in ubisoft obviously. Is your last statement meant to make you look like a badass or something? Oooh tough guy. I don't own stock in Ubisoft so I should not care that IGN highly underated the score? What's the big deal. I own the game and have been playing all day, and there is no way this game deserves a 4.5 out of 10, is a what I'm saying. You can listen to all the reviews you want, I'll enjoy something if I find it enjoyable, not if other people tell me it is.

That's great for you that you are enjoying it. That is all that matters at the end of the day. I wasn't trying to sound tough. Thank you for letting me know that I am. I just wanted to see if you were rooting for it because it is PS3 exclusive or if you actually like it.

I wouldn't say that like "crappy" shooters. I'm actually very picky when it comes to games. But at the same time, there are things that aren't that important to me that are very important to other people. Basically, if a game has good controls, is fun, easy, and I get to shoot stuff, I'm happy. I'm probably the only person who hates challenging and hard games. That only frustrates me to the point where playing is no fun. That's why I only play my PS2 games using the Codebreaker, and I usually get shooters on the PC because I can mod the .ini files to make the game a breeze.
I also love RFOM, COD4, Half Life 2, Portal, Red Faction, Timeshift, Timesplitters 2, Quake 4, Doom 3, Chronicles of Riddick, Deus Ex: Invisible War, and RTCW. I don't consider those to be crappy.
