STAY ON TOPIC PLEASE

THEAPOCOLYPS3 IS OVER! OR HAS IT ONLY JUST BEGUN?
^props to coolasj19hope you dont mind me using this if you do just let me know and it will instantly be removed
props toRatchetV1
for coming up with the How Far are you willing to gopoll subject

"To recover your trophys: 1. Insert the game disk for the lost trophys
2. boot up the game to the main menu
3. check to see if the game is back in your trophy list, at this point you should see the game at 0%
4.Exit to the XMB, go to your trophy collection and press triangle
5. hit sych trophys
6. PROFIT! you should now see most if not all your lost trophys. its most likely if you synched them to the server before the crash for a full recovery

I cant necessarily find any information on the actual error or anyway to get out of it at the moment. But if you go on pretty much any forum anywhere on any gamesite youll see some posts about the same issue. SO just relax guys youre not the only one.

IGN, PSU, Playstation, Yahoo Answers, N4G, Fixya, GTA Forums etc.

are all sites that are talking about this. Its pretty obvious that this has taken the PS3 community by storm. Sorry i couldnt be more help but ill keep posting what i find.

I have gotten this from the former sticky no link sorry but here is what was said:

***"Hi, I am Brandon from the PlayStation Network and we are over flooded with E-mails and complaints. It is a server error, we are working on fixing, but as for now you just need to sit and wait. It should be back on in about 1(One) hour. Sorry for any inconvenience this error may have caused.
Source(s):
PlayStation Network"***

**Try not to play trophy enabled games. You can play them but if you get a trophy theres a chance the game could freeze right around the time the trophy is supposed to pop up. Afterwards its a possiblility that your trophy info has been deleted altogether.**

landofshadowLoS wrote:All, I am on the PS3 WEB site, signed in as my User ID, so it looks like they are making progress... The page fails to sipaly though after I click on my Account/Friends or Trophies... So there still seems to be issues. They have a new Trade Mark:- IT ONLY DOES EVERYTHING LOL.... ive realised this also playstation.com has a new look and if you have a trophy card from their site take a look at it and youll notice its gone from black to white

Sorry guys i really havent found anything as of late and dont worry about this Thread getting locked until tomorrow or so because ill be here to update when i can. All ive found out is that the numbers are climbing and Sony is supposedly working on it. Also, apparently a guy named PSDave works with Sony and hes a newbie member on our very own Gamespot. Some people Are thinking it came with Heavy Rain and others are thinking it couldve ben something with friend lists.

It is now showed on Twitterthat it is not a problem with Slims but the fat models and they are basically getting close to fixing it. Yet this isnt news if you ask me.

Ill keep you guys posted on when i find out more

This might be helpful to some people, as it's what seems to be the problem. Posted on NeoGAF.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's what's going on right now: something with the PS3's internal clock has borked in some pre-slim models. This is not a PSN issue; it has to do with your PS3's clock. This clock is NOT related to the OS clock. It seems to be a leap year bug. Setting your clock ahead will do nothing. All PS3s around the world were affected at the exact same time.

Does this affect me?

-If you have a Slim PS3, you're good to go. Continue playing it as normal.
-If you have a "fat" PS3, you may be affected. Some fat PS3s have worked ok, but it seems a good majority have been bugged.

What does this bug mean?

-If affected, your date and time has been set to a random past date. This prevents you from signing into PSN, playing any PSN games, or using any DLC. Your trophies will also not display correctly or be able to sync.

How do I fix it?

-You can't. Even if you don't sign into PSN, it won't help. This is a hardware issue.

So, what do I do?

-Wait 24 hours. Other products that have had similar bugs have corrected themselves after the "bugged" day. On Monday around 6pm central time, all PS3s will automatically correct themselves...maybe.

-If that doesn't work, we'll need a firmware update from Sony, which should be a pretty important priority for them right now.

Did I lose my data/themes/etc?

Your save data/games/dlc/themes are fine. They'll be fixed when the PS3 is fixed. Trophies are uncertain right now, but they'll be fine if you've synced them before the PS3 was bugged. Unsynced trophies are an unknown right now.

So there ya go, my handy FAQ.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FOund on Link

After experiencing some major problems, Sony has been dealing with some major PS3 system crashes for the last several hours. If you haven't turned your PS3 on in the last five-six hours, please refrain from doing so until Sony fixes the problem.

Aside from having PSN not connect to the internet, some were noticing that the date had changed on their system, trophies were vanishing, and that many of their games weren't working properly. This caused a panic among many PS3 owners, though. Oddly, only PS3 owners with the original "fat" model had problems -- all Slim models worked fine. With such a random system crash occurring for unknown reasons, many wondered what had happened and why a strange error code was coming up.

If your tried to play any PS3 or PSN titles, you would receive the error code: 8001050F. The detailed explanation given was the following:

Registration of the trophy information could not be completed.
The game will quit.
(8001050F)

After calling Sony's technical support and speaking to one of their representatives, we were told the issue would be fixed by morning and that there is no need to fear about game's trophies of save data. So, it sounds like the fix will be made relatively soon and that there won't be any ill side-effects from the bug. What time the fix will go up exactly is yet to be determined.

i will continue to update and will show whats been added by bolding and italics(above information could be wrong

Kotaku's Story:

All around the world, PlayStation 3 consoles simply aren't working like they're supposed to, with a PlayStation Network error preventing people from not just going online, but from playing some PS3 games offline as well.

From Europe to the Americas to, well, my house in Australia, users are complaining that upon booting their consoles up, they're unable to sign into their accounts, check their trophies or access the PlayStation Network. That's fine, Sony say there are PSN connection problems, and that they are "looking into it".

Problem is, the error does more than just prevent you from going online. It prevents you from playing certain games offline as well. The screen above is what I was greeted with when attempting to play Heavy Rain, and pressing out of it simply reboots the PS3, returning you to the main menu screen. It's the same story for other games that feature dynamic trophy support.

Sony say "stay tuned" for updates on the problem. In turn, we'll update if we hear anything more.

While theories abound that this has something to do with the calendar, bear in mind Sony has redesigned its PlayStation website over the weekend, so it's likely the result of some tinkering under the hood for the PlayStation Network.

Whichever it is, though, you have to wonder at the design process that turns a network outage into something stopping you from playing a game (in my case Heavy Rain) you own, pick up from a shelf and has no online play whatsoever.

Final words thank you for your support guys i actually got most of the information on here through this thread its self.

I suppose those of us who also have a 360 (Like myself) are probably about to go there and see if it's more crowded than usual. Think I mgiht do that. Everyone will have probably jumped over and are now playing games there.

Also, what's with the topic lock? It only encourages more off-topic tomfoolery. It's like rattling the monkey cage and thinking that will get the monkeys to quiet down.

So I want to find out what people were doing when they got hit by the now infamous 8001050F Error code.....

I'll start.

I was jumping on MW2 to play some spec ops with a friend when I got the first message that my trophies had not synced and the game would automattically quit once i hit X. Me being the smart one i decided to reset my PS3 in hopes to get back on. Sure enough i sealed my own fate and glot the now infamous error code. Ever since all I can play is GOW collection and god knows what happens next when i get a trophy for it...... lol

how is it the leap year bug? and why is it only affecting us this year, its not leap year! and if this was true then wouldnt this have happened at the same time last year then?

From what I have seen and read in various other places, this has popped up at various times over the years and normally people needed to send their system into Sony to get it fixed. Hopefully this won't be what needs to be done because they are gonna have a hell of alot of PS3's coming in through the mail.

yea.. I read that somewhere as well...

is not a year leap is a month issue... Feb most common has 27 days, some others has 28 days. Last year it was 27 days, this is one of the uncommon years with Feb having 28days... The ps3 got confussed and end up putting a random date, and the hardware crashed somehow... I`m no a tech specialist... nor I`m saying that is for sure.. but sounds logical and make sense...

If anything, worst case scenario, they'll just do a massive recall and replace your phat with a slim...free of charge, one would hope. And thats all assuming that this is permanent...when either a simple firmwire update or simply waiting a day will likely fix this...

So I just checked my PS3 and my HR trophies are gone (only game I attempted to play today). Checked online for my PSN account and the trophies aren't there either. I'm pretty sure I synced the trophies last night too, so I'm not exactly sure if it's true that the trophies are saved at all if you encounted the loading trophy error or not.

i doubt they would make us buy a slim...w/ all the old ps3s out and ppl who had this problem, i don't think they would have enough slims to go around. they either get our systems fixed or take a FATAL hit from the communities...

So I want to find out what people were doing when they got hit by the now infamous 8001050F Error code.....

Funny thing is that I haven't turned my PS3 on for days, even weeks. I've been playing Mass Effect 2. I left my computer to run some maintenance, so I went to turn on my PS3, and found out that the network was down.

I'm waiting it out. That's all I can do because I can't play most of my games... they are trophy enabled. I already lost my COD WAW trophies.

If anything, worst case scenario, they'll just do a massive recall and replace your phat with a slim...free of charge, one would hope. And thats all assuming that this is permanent...when either a simple firmwire update or simply waiting a day will likely fix this...8001050F_FTL

NO  I want my OLD PS3 to work, I don't want a slim model and lose all my saves, that would make so mad...

Anyways, hope this gets fixed soon, I want to finish Heavy Rain

The system clock issue is the cause, no doubt. But it was an ill thought policy that makes it so.

nope... they were a small code error a lil while ago after a new firmware update, but no it was this big (so many ppl affected) no it lasted this long...

My friends was playing GoW2.. I try to long a few times to see if my friends of WKC were on.... when i could it after couple of tries came to find out if it was my network or some know error.. the moment I found it it was some major massive error... I turn-off my console and will be off until sony announce is fix
