I Know :lol:Do you think that we will hear anything about Final Fantasy Versus XIII in the February 20th PlayStation Meeting? Even about it being a PS"4" exclusive now! Please Square Enix!01_855403Sony meetings like this are usually about the hardware itself and what services we could expect. E3 is the one for games. Though to be fair this whole meeting is shrouded in mystery, who knows what we'll get.

My favorite RPGs this gen are:
Â
1. FFXIII-2
2. Ni No Kuni
3. Fallout 3
4. FFXIII
5. Resonance of Fate
6. White Knight Chronicles
7. Mass Effect 2
The WKC games have always intigued me. I almost got WKC2 because it was cheap and comes with both games. I truly think the reviews scared me off a bit and I'm kind of ashamed to admit that.Â

I thought WKC1 was better than 2. I finished 1 but lost interest with 2. Not sure why actually. WKC is one of those games where on the surface it looks like it has all the elements of a good RPG, i.e. good story, decent characters, good gameplay, tons of customization options for your characters and their mechs, huge variety of side-quests to do, even great online multiplayer mode where you could create your own town, lots of interesting towns to visit, etc., but it just misses something. And I don't know what that proverbial "something" is. It just feels slugish and slow, the way the plot is advanced seems...uninteresting, the pacing works against story, in a way. It all seems bland somehow. All the good elements never truly click together to form a cohesive product that could catch your attention and keep it.
Did anybody pick anything up during the Final Fantasy 25th anniversary sale on PSN? I just bought V, VI, VIII, and IX. Still have disc copies of VIII and IX but it'll be great to have them on my Vita. I want to run through all of the FF games from I-XIII-2 sometime this summer. Never played II, V, or VI so I'm really looking forward to finally giving those games a shot.Texas2089Nice!!! I have FFVI in my Wii VC and I'm very far into it. Haven't had time to finish it but it really is amazing.

Yeah I've seen VI get lots of praise with a lot of people feeling it's the best in the series so that's the one I'm looking forward to the most.

"Hidemi Matsuzuka, General Manager of the Square Enix figure brand Play Arts Kai, posted an interesting tweet today."
"Prince, he said on Twitter, with the following image attached."
Clearly says Noctis!
What do you guys think? Square Enix being a tease or Versus to be a possible launch title?
Such teases! I'm intrigued. If we don't hear anything about it soon I'm guessing we at least get E3 news on it. I'm pretty convinced it'll be a PS4 title but man, I still hold out hope for it to come out on PS3 as it's last hurrah!!http://gematsu.com/2013/02/square-enix-manager-tweets-noctis-perfume

Just traded my 360 for a PS3. Â Excited to get into the best version of Dark Souls available, as well as go back and play Demon's Souls for the first time.
Also something about Uncharted and LittleBigPlanet, whatever.
Excited to get into the best version of Dark Souls availablerealguitarhero5So you got it on PC..? :P
[QUOTE="realguitarhero5"]Excited to get into the best version of Dark Souls availableMethodManFTWSo you got it on PC..? :P I had the 360 version and I have the PC version. The 360 version is easy to hack with savegame editors and the PC version has widespread use of trainers. The PS3 version is the only one with secure savegames that prevent cheating.
As much as I love Dark Souls, I'm going to have to give this one to Dragon Age: Origins. Dark Souls did melee combat and fruitful exploration better than any other game in recent memory, but when I think of RPGs and what I love about them, I think of rich story and characters. Out of all those listed, Dragon Age: Origins wins by a landslide. Now if only someone would come along and mix the two... sweet jeebus, that would be an amazing game. MrSelf-DestructYou wanna hear something unfortunate ? I have yet to complete Dark Souls. My first character's stats were so unbalanced I just started over with a partner. I should invest in that title more than skyrim for now on. Even though skyrim is just so awesome ! I have yet to become a werewolf and tame wolves.

So this guy is heading to the event
Last time we saw him was at E3 with that new engine that FF Agnes was running on.
"In an interview during the Paris Games Week 2012, Technology Director Julien Merceron teased that the company had plans to show off the demo again, only this time it would be presented on different platforms.

hmm... hopefullybut I know as soon as we get a real release date I'll be a squealing little girl again like I am with pretty much every FF game :PTexas2089:lol: You're not the only one! Also, I have a bunch of old jrpgs (and a few newer) on my current "play list". I really should just focus on a few at a time but my gamer A.D.D. is too powerful. The problem it, I've noticed I barely make any progress overall when I'm dabbling in so many games. Currently the list of games that I have interest in playing that I own are: Xenoblade Last Story Arc Rise Fantasia Final Fantasy VI Final Fantasy IX Mass Effect 3 Tales of Destiny 2 Final Fantasy IV (I beat this game already but still play it periodically) Chrono Trigger I have a few more too but they are ones that I never really think about or really want to play. My problem is I only play a few games a week for a few hours at a time. So this is why I barely move forward in any game overall.... And Chrono Trigger is a new addition. I downloaded the game a year or more ago but barely ever played it. Played it on a whim 2 days ago for about an hour... damn... I loved it... I wish I was playing right now. And the music.... oh the music....

A lot of people seemed disappointed that it wasn't what they felt was a 'proper' sequel to Chrono Trigger but don't ever listen to butthurt fanboys. The game is incredible. It's impossible to play that many RPGs at once though. I'm finding it hard enough just to try and balance Fire Emblem with Persona 4 Golden so I couldn't imagine trying to play all the games you are. Good luck :P

I am close to the end of FFVI which has been brilliant by the way. Maybe I should try to knock that out. Chrono Trigger does seem awesome in the little bit I've played, the story seems to be pulling me in. Xenoblade is just fun to play, the story has been decent but I feel a lot of time goes by before advancing the story so it loses something a little bit. I hear it picks up again though.... It's going to be impossible to pick just a few, I really like all these games..... I guess it's a good problem to have!

It's going to be impossible to pick just a few, I really like all these games..... I guess it's a good problem to have! That was my biggest issue with Xenoblade. It took entirely too long for things to move forward, and even when they did I just didn't care because not even one of the characters grabbed me. Character development is always an important part of an RPG for me and I just didn't feel it with Xenoblade. If the story had been more fast paced I probably could have forgiven this shortcoming since the constant action would keep my attention, but when you're only seeing relevant story material every 5-6 hours those little character interactions become much more important and it just did not deliver in that respect. For me at least. Good plan to stick with one retro and one modern game though. I'd say go for it on FFVI since you're close then get back to Chrono Trigger.
