Being the only main release this week and such a huge fan base, I am tempted to check out this game. However, it is said to have occultic themes and there is a satanic pentagram on the cover. I don't want to open up room for demon influence in my apartment.

What kind of christian are you? Orthodox, or just a regular guy?- I stopped following christianity (I live in Argentina where christianity is huge) when I realized that leading my life by old concepts was wrong. Yes, it has a good life manual, but Budhism and muslim also have good teachings, yet to mr Emperor (Ratzinger) they are wrong and should be eliminated. I cant follow a leader of a religion whose moto is "tolerance" being so anti-differences.

So, back to the topic, Persona 3 is not a satanist game, unless you are one of those who think that everything thats not I love jesus and sees Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings as Satans Spawn should be able to play it.

Haha yeah i saw something like that on some weird program at TV once, was about a christian family and how the parents raised their kids. I am not that interested in religions so thought they maybe look differently on things.

And the story is far from satanism, but you have to play it to know that, and I dont want to spoil anything. But the ending pretty much contradicts satanism

If it was to the other guy, then yeah, true.

The game's most attractive pattern would be the character interaction and development, they make you care for the character's destination. (The title is self-explained, Persona, persona means person in spanish)

If the truth so happened to be "yes" and someone told you about it, now you are held accountable for it. So if you play and you know you can go to hell for it than that was your choice.

On the contrary, if you had never asked this question, and didn't know whether or not you can go to hell for it, then I don't think you would held accountable for it whether or not you play it.

As for your question, anything that has something to do with executing immoral actions by your conscious will is a sin. But we're all sinners anyways.

I see that you are a fellow Christian/Catholic like me... But if you think about it, you're being really paranoid.

Let's start with the gun to head thing. It's doesn't count as suicide, so it's NOT the sin of suicide.

Second: You are not summoning merely "demons" straight from hell.

Third: You fight these creatures called shadows. Seems to me that you're doing God a service in this game by defeating these demonic things. Without spoiling anything, you fight evil, and defend the good of the people.

Fourth: This game kicks arse.

Fifth: It's a game. Before, I held back in playing games such as God of War (due to the "place no gods before me, etc, etc") but I realized that God's not this guy who'll send you to hell because you're experiencing the religions of others. You don't have to believe in gods and stuff, but you can aknowledge that that faith is there and respect it.

Sixth: This game kicks arse.

Seventh: The game Diablo centers around defeating the demon Diablo. To show off my hatred for Satan, I beat Diablo a few times :D

Eighth: This game kicks arse.

well here in canada priests are marrying gay couples saying that if jesus were alive today he would agree that its the right thing to do. thus if priests can marry gays id think your pretty much safe to play a video game. plus its just a game, as long as you dont take any of the draker themes to heart or attempt to reenact any of the "evil" things you'll be okay.

on a side note what is "good" and what is "evil". its all subjective. basically youre point of view against mine, therfore i cant actually tell you what to do as while i see no actual issue with seeing murder on tv shows/video games you do(by the sounds of things). also we live in a completely different day and age, the bible was written when humans didn't know the things they do now. if something mysterious happened they just said it was an act of god or some other mystical being. because they didn't have the tools to investgate, nor the knowledge we have now. in the end its your decision.

The israelis did actually kick butt to establish Israel. They fought the arabs in three major wars before they can safely declare Israel, so it wasn't as easy as "the UN gave it to them" plus it wasnt the UN, it was Britain.
