all 3 games so far have been epic. I loved the shot by my boy ray allen

Guys the Pacers are not that bad. We beat Chicago, LA, Boston, Dallas, and Miami this year. We really bring it against top teams. We obviously can't play good ball consistently, but we can actually be downright scary sometimes.bobcheeseballI haven't noticed anyone claim that the Pacers were bad (well, save for folks trying to pile the 'hate' on Chicago) They can play far better than their record suggests.
a close win for OKC and i don't think there's anything to be glad about.... Westbrook almost single-handedly busted the game in Q4. no team can go for in the Playoffs with an immature PG and my hope for OKC to shine has just dimmed a little...
Yeah, that no-call on the obvious goaltending helped OKC out too. Nuggets blew from the line tonight though, so they have themselves to blame.a close win for OKC and i don't think there's anything to be glad about.... Greatest first round in recent memory so far. All game 1s except one was competitive, and several came down to who executed in the last 40 seconds. Yes, I'm looking at you Rondo with the prefect inbound pass ally-op that took .5 seconds off the clock!
Melo's shot attempts are really atrocious.
No wonder nobody wanted this guy, he wrecks team chemistry.
That last play he could of dished it to a wide open Billups but he decides to shoot a 3 from 30 feet out with 2 defenders on him...
No wonder nobody wanted this guy, he wrecks team chemistry.< Jagged3dgeReally? No team wanted him? Really? The list of teams interested in him was at the very least 6 (including the Nuggets who kept the extension on the table). A wide open Billups? Billups got injured earlier a was out of the game. Tony Dougles replaced him.
If anyhing, Anthony should have drove.
As well as the Hornets played, and they played phenomenal, the Lakers win this game if Pau Gasol doesn't play like a cadaver.Where the hell was he today?-Halftime-I have to agree with this. When people say Pau is soft, it is games like this that they point to. I recall one point in the second half, the Lakers ran a pick and roll that ended up with Pau being guarded by a guard (Jarret Jack I believe) in the low post about six feet from the hoop. He didn't look for his own shot at all but kicked it right back out. Can't have him doing that.
MVP's of the Day - Chris Paul and D. Rose! These guys came to play.Lostboy1224No love for Howard who got 40+ points and 15+ rebounds? or it doesn't matter because his team lost?

Howard did great too, but winning in the playoffs is what matters most. I don't think they will lose the series or anything, but Howard has stepped up his game big time this year. If he ever gets another proven all-star on that team the Magic could very well win the East. He is doing all he can do (except maybe improve his FT% some more), so now his teammates need to follow their leader's example and play their asses off. As for MVP voting, it usually goes to a player on either the top team from the East or West so Howard may have to wait a little longer. I don't see anyone winning it multiple times in a row anymore since there are so many deserving and talented players in the league right now.
Did that half-court shot by Ron Artest at the end of the 2nd quarter count? I could not watch anymore of the game after the first half, but they didn't show a replay of the shot and were only focusing on Kobe on the ground.LTomlinson21Yep. It counted. Amazing shot. By the way, for anyone who is interested, here is a great analysis of Pau Gasol from last game and in a more general sense. As someone who has watched him a WHOLE lot for the last 3+ years, this is spot on. Incredibly skilled player, but lacking killer mentality at times. He's like a computer who needs an occasional reboot (translation: kick in the ass) to keep him working at optimum efficiency at times.

Wait that wasn't Billups? Well Dougles was wide open then
And no the only teams that were actually really interested in him were the Nets and Knicks. All the other teams backed out when they saw this guy isn't worth what Denver demanded.
I don't see what game you were watching, he shoots terrible shots which is strange since he is a athletic SF fully capable of driving to the hoop everytime.
Wait that wasn't Billups? Well Dougles was wide open thenNope. Billups was out. Rockets and Mavs both were interested in melo. Both so much so that they were willing to trade for him without him signing an extension. It was a bad game for Melo in he second half. Never denied that. He should have drived, then again the refs called a questionable call earlier, if he got fouled would they call it?And no the only teams that were actually really interested in him were the Nets and Knicks. How the hell didn't the NBA see the goaltend in that Denver-OKC game last night.....-Halftime-
Yeah. Nuggets got robbed. But also, how does Durant get 17 free throws while everyone else on either team get only 4-5 each!
This is why I think the Nuggets have to blow the Thunder out every game to win this thing because the refs give that superstar treatment way too much to Durant and give him way too many trips to the free throw line. The Nuggets will have a huge up-hill battle if the games are close, espcially at OKC!
I'd rather have Tony Douglas who just hit the HUGE 3 to put the Knicks up 3 take a wide open jumper than Melo basically forcing a 3 pointer over a double team. Especially when he was off with his shot the whole 2nd half. If he was hot shooting the ball I wouldn't have had a problem with the shot at all. He was ice cold.ohjtbehaaaveFor someone who has read your post regarding melo, I doubt that. You during the 6 game losing streak- "Melo is dragging the team down!" You during the 6 or 7 winning streak, some without Amare- "Most unimpressive 7 game win streak ever."

I'm not one to really complain about officiating, but the calls that OKC gets in their building are absolute bull. It's like the refs are influenced by how loud it is in there. Completely nonprofessional.Sorry if I'm late to the party. Just wanted to say thanks to melo for attempting to be a super-hero last night instead of driving it in, or better yet hitting Stoudemire down low. Ray Allen baby!!

My biggest problem with Melo is he has a very low Basketball IQ. He's basically a gunner imo. Sure he makes a lot of shots... but he takes way to many bad ones in the process. Plus the offense just gets stagnant ands stands still when he gets the ball. There was a game this year where Melo forced up a shot in triple coverage at MSG trying to be the Hero when he had L.Fields cutting to the basket for an EASY Layup or Jam to win the game at the buzzer. I think my biggest problem is I like TEAM BALL and Melo is about Melo. Basically Knicks fans better get used to it. Some nights he'll be on and some games he'll be off. Some games he will hit the game winner and many nights like in Game 1 he won't... and it will be an ill advised shot where a low Basketball IQ type decision was made. Melo can become such a better player if/once he realizes... hey I'm drawing 2 and 3 defenders to me... let me PASS the ball to an open man for an EASY basket! That's when the Knicks will become a team to contend with.

Regardless of his previous posts HE'S RIGHT.
I would definitely rather my wide open playertake that shot. Stop being star struck, basketball is all percentages, and the guy thats wide open with the decent FG percentage from 3 is a way better shot than what melo took.
As if Chalmers hasn't hit any 3s...it doesn't matter who USUALLY takes those shots, a better shot is a better shot.
I don't even see why your defending it, you a Knicks fan also now.

2. Don't argue percentages with me... Melo has the highest fg% in game winning situations shooting nearly 50%! Nearly twice as high as Kobe.
3. Chalmers 3p% and Toney Dougles shot about the same from behind the arc. That's why I compared them. Point is, in a close game the triangle offense is good... just going to Kobe is better. Same logic.
It's a good thing the Bulls pulled out game 1 or I'd be REALLY nervous right now. JML897Yup. They're getting exposed. Hit all of your shots and run your offense with the same speed and they lose their advantage on defense and offense. Pacers are doing it well.
I just heard about Rick Adelman. Rough year for coaches.ConscrumpturedWorse news then Yao getting hurt IMO. Great coach, wish him the best of luck. He went there to win a championship with Yao and T-Mac, not coach Chuck and Luis.
