The defense is bad right now, but the offense was MUCH better tonight. Dwight was stroking them free throws and had some very nice plays offensively. Kobe was awesome. Pau had a tough game. The bench was really bad. Honestly, I realized this was going to be a tough game to win before it even started, Portland isn't elite but they are good at home, especially against LA for some reason. Just gotta get time to gel.
The Heat struggled early on 2 years ago with Lebron, Wade, and Bosh playing for the first time together. They ended up in the Finals. I'm sure the Lakers will be just fine.

Didn't see it, was Kobe guarding Batum most of the game? I'm taking some crap from a Laker/Kobe hater at work. When I jokingly said "at least my man Kobe had 30pts" (and 7 t.o.'s), he said, "yeah, but his man had 26, he can't guard anybody now".
When I saw they were playing Portland at home, I didn't even bother to check the score this morning, I knew they would lose. You're right, there's something about Portland, has been for years.....I guess they just have their "number".
Yep, Kobe did a poor job defensively last night, whether it was the ankle or not IDK.

Oh, ok. I'll just have to tell the dude at work that "father time" is undefeated. I don't expect many more stellar defensive games from a 17th year vet. But that 17th yr vet held his own offensively against the young buck. It's all in fun anyway (the teasing at work)

How do you follow up a 37 point performance in your first game, James Harden? With a 45 point explosion in your second!
