Homeless man? You mean James Harden, the NBA's current leading scoring who just signed a contract to make him the richest 'homeless man' in the world? I'm called 'No Hablo Sports' by only a select few on this site, and it pertains to my knowledge or lack of knowledge in football, which has little to no advanced statisicis. I am not doubted here for my basketball analysis by anyone here, to my knowledge. This will become more evident once I destroy everyone in this years Gamespot fantasy Basketball league.

Looks like if Brown doesn't do well enough, during the next 6 games, he might lose his job.

My best guess would probably be Brian Shaw, as I think Phil Jackson would have been hired before the season if he'd shown any real interest.

So i guess the lakers have given up on this year already. Are they really trying to install a completely new scheme mid-season?

I didn't see Brown lasting past 10 games. Should have given Brian Shaw a chance from the beginning. I'd go with Shaw or Jerry Sloan if either wants it.

I'd stay away from D'Antoni(no defense) and S. VanGundy (Decent coach, but too much of a screamer/too hyper, can't see that working with Kobe, and his history with Howard is another issue)

Havent been here much lately but just felt like venting.

IMO this is total bull (for lack of better word). Ive always hated how easily coaches get fired but this is ridiculous. So losing 4 games at the start of a season is all it takes now? Preseason means nothing, to me anyway.

Yeah they're struggling. Not sure why Brown just didnt use last years and his Cavs style. Still they hardly gave it a chance. Saw some of that press with the GM, hes all it might of turned out fine. Ya if there was more time. They just panicked lol.

I read some players might of been partly responsible. Regardless its extremely unfair. Losing to the Mavs, Blazers and Jazz is just as much the players fault. Heck they should of won those games on talent and firepower alone.

Mike Brown is a horrible coach, get over it. He's mismanaging minutes, the team isn't listening to him, and there's been no improvement. Along with that, I can count on 1 hand the number of adjustments he's made in the 80 something games he's coached in LA. He never even set on a sensible rotation for God's sake. He would play people one night, then you don't see them for 3 games. Asinine. He's a nice guy, but he's not a Lakers coach, or even a head coach period. He was awful in Cleveland and awful here. It was time for a change. He shouldn't have even been hired in the first place. The Lakers were getting their asses WHOOPED by sorry ass middle of the road teams. That's unacceptable with the talent the Lakers have. Look how much turnover there's been in Dallas since last season. I don't see the Mavs being 1-4 and disinterested. That's cus Rick Carlisle knows what he's doing. So the whole give it time thing isn't an excuse when you look THAT bad. 4th worst record in the league, think about that. Shoul've hired Brian Shaw, but Jimbo was all mad that Phil was winning and wanted to purge the team of everything Phil. So Jim is 0-2 with hiring competent coaches(Struck out on Rudy T, struck out here)

Apparently the Lakers are considering Phil Jackson or Mike D'Antoni as their head coach.

As for Mike Brown, it might benefit him to latch onto a team as an assistant coach with an already established head coach. Let him learn for a few years and then maybe try it out again. He seems like a really nice dude, but his coaching talent is just not there.

I don't understand the Phil J thing. He's retired! He can't save this team everytime they fvck up. Kobe is suppose to be the leader of the team. He needs to man up and take responsibility. Maybe if he would stop ball hogging and make his team better they would win some games!

Phil has the gravitas and stature to tell Kobe what to do and if not he will out him to the press. Brown couldn't do this since "this is Kobe's team".

@ Halftime- He made it to the finals and won coach of the year with the Cavs. Thats nothing to sneeze at. I agree he really didnt need to make all the changes. Like I said dont know why he didnt use his old style.

People keep saying the worst record in the west...its 5 games in. Ya know how stupid that sounds? I dont mean you, I mean in general. Ive heard it all day on TV. Id understand it if it were a couple months in. Look at the Heat. Plenty of times they could fired coach Spo.

I also agree about losing to those well to be honest, cruddy teams. Thats why I listed them and said they should of won, at least based on starpower.

LeBron won him those games. Don't get it twisted. And getting swept in the Finals isn't an achievement in Los Angeles.

Mike Brown couldn't win with Lebron or Kobe.

His winning % should have an asterisk next to it.

@ Halftime and No Hablo- Then the same could be said about Phil Jackson or any coach with stars. The Jordans won him those titles in the 90s.

I dont really believe that. Its just how you sound.

I dont think Mike Brown is the greatest ever. Thats probably Phil but lets be honest. 4 losses with a team that hasnt been together that long = coaching disaster? Thats just silly.

Yeah, he's making everything. The lack of Dwight scoring is concerning. And I'm not sure if LA's defense has been better, or if the Warriors are just missing a ton of open 3's.

Warriors haven't shot all that well this season, but they're extra bad tonight. They look jumpy and they won't give up on the jumpers, really frustrating. Sucks they gotta play like sh*t against LAL..

how long did Lebron get stuck with Mike Brown again? The Lakers dumped his ass (rightfully so) after a lockout year and 5 games. Management matters..

I think it's so dumb if Phil J is coming back. Like he's the only coach out there or something. Can't cling on to him forever.-Renegade
He's the best professional sports coach ever. Why wouldn't you go after him? yes, there are other coaches out there but they all suck compared to Phil.

[QUOTE="No_Hablo_Ingles"][QUOTE="JML897"] Why does it matter? I would always want my team to try to get the best coach they possibly can.Seabas989

This. As long as he is a great coach, I see no issue bringing him back.

True but he ain't getting any younger and he's not immortal. Are the Lakers gonna always ask him to bail them out?

He's 67...and he is returning as a coach, not a player. His age means nothing at long as he is in his right mind. Gregg Popovich certainly isn't going anywhere...

Agree. Love him or hate him, it's true. I hated the Lakers when they were dominating but it shows that Phil was a damn good coach.
