What is there reasoning behind a 0.5 difference?

Thats is a pretty huge difference for two copies containing the exact same content.

the only thing I could discern is different reviewers. I don't believe they specifically singled out one version in either review.

Also where is the getting both versions option? That is what I'm doing mainly because I have some friends getting the 360 version and some getting the PS3 version.RonnieLottinSF

I never considered anyone would do that to be honest, I suspect you to be in the tiniest of minorities.

even the 10/10 ign review of GTA4 said that it has the normal gta hinderences aside from new cover system. Im sure people will also complain that the difficulty has been significantly reduced to appease the casuals.

My friend got this game a few hours ago and said the framerate is awful and it gets so bad it can be hard to drive and he has to restart the console to get it smooth again. Bug maybe?

He has the PS3 version at 720p. I hope this is just a one off thing...darklord888

lol, hopefully they don't go really easy. Some of the hard missions were the most rewarding like in SA where you had to visit Area 51, the boat mission and some others can't think.

It's my plan B. I'm going with the PS3 version but, if a year from now, there is no sign of the PS3 getting any DLC, I'll pick up the PC version if it is available, or buy a cheap copy of the Xbox 360 version.

also you have to understand that these reviews were made by two diffrent people with diffrent views same as the cvg article two diffrent views

Be careful guys. There are people posting GTA4 spoilers all over this place. I don't know if what I read is true (obviously haven't picked up the game yet) but I find it disturbing. Just a word to the wise.

For the multitude who will only care when the 360 version was deducted 0.5 points, their complaints were:

-Combat controls could be tighter
-Occassional frame-rate issues
-"the sometimes problematic auto-aim shooting or the massive difficulty jump when you get to the final ten missions."

particularly when you see one guy did "pros and cons" while the other didn't. and you have to wonder about the "combat controls" problem. Is it an issue that is also on the PS3 version, or is it unique to the 360? Because we have 2 different reviewers, we can't tell by the review. and which of the issues is the 360 penalized the most for? if it's control, i'd like to know more about this. none of the other reviews have mentioned the 360 as having more difficult controls than the PS3 version.
