$199 for an HD gaming console? Can it be true?

Why doesn't anyone bash the Wii, that thing has almost no space whatsoever and they don't give you any options other than pay for an overpriced SD card. People that buy a lot of VC games are getting screwed and the only solution is to spend $60 on a 2gig SD card when Nintendo could have made a 20gig HDD model of the Wii for like 299.Il_Exile_lI

you can get plenty others for under $10...

No hard drive = fail. Some games benifit greatly with the hard drive when it comes to loading times and even framerates to a lesser extent. It may be cheaper then the Wii but for $199 you're getting a gimped Xbox 360 that shouldn't have existed in the first place.karasill

No it doesn't. You can still play all those games online without the HDD. Load times are no longer then the PS3 versions.:lol:

The Dreamcast didn't have a HDD and played several games online and offline perfectly, with little to no lag at all and that was through a modem.) That's old technology working at it's finest.

Many consumers don't care about about a hard drive or downloadable content. Ever heard of the Wii?

This system is targeted at the Wii audience and they are plenty. I heard the box for the arcade will be redesigned to include avatars.

so your telling me the wii= 360. lol wii is the closest thing to ps2. 360 and ps3 are similar so the should have similar specs. Theres not excuse for hard drive less 360. Especially if your main attraction is xbox live. M$ know this and so their gonna kill off the arcade.

ninja gaiden 2 dlc is 150mbs in size, halo 3 is also 150 mb i think. i think most of the dlc's are about 150mb in size....

i can only hold so much on a memory card...its not enough.

Why shouldn't it exist? I can play COD4, Orange Box, Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, & GTAIV right now on my core system and those games will run better than an 80GB PS3, and that's a fact. The only reason it shouldn't exist is because it shows how much of an overpriced, overengineered steaming pile that the PS3 really is.

also, i played pes 2008 on both systems and if you own pes 2008 on ps3, you know it lags and massive slow down near the goal, especially corner kicks

Could I be able to play Braid,Banjo 1&2, Castle Crashers etc. on this 360?

I have no desire to pay for XBL so would I be able to buy these games without doing so.

If I can and the 360 weren't so loud I'd probably buy one with : Viva Pinata,Kameo,Banjo,ToV and some other games.

Thats not true, to access XBL Silver, all you need is a memory card. and to play online, then yes you pay a fee, but accessing everything (game demos, XBLA games, Trial games, videos) all that can be done for free with silver. OF course you cant save files that you have no room for, but you still have access to anything up to 512mb, which is the memory card it comes with

What kind of HDD is the Wii getting I haven't heard of anything about it.

The PS2's HDD which was original used for FFXI online became an unused failure real quick.

true, but you still don't need them to enjoy a gaming experience. and guess what, those are add ons. you can always buy the %199 model and buy an HDD later.
