Neither one.

Bad example.

$50 a month.

Equals $600 a year.

That family has more important concerns than a gaming console.

Well first off it doesn't equal $600 cause I said they can sometimes save up to $50 bucks a month. Meaning they paid off the bills and all for those months and sometimes from every other month let's say can save $50 bucks a month.

Cause like for me I pay for water and electricty every other month not every month. So if they save up $300 let's say they could maybe go buy a Wii or maybe they wanted to save up for two years to get the PS3 20GB version but they have to spend $100 more and save up even more just to but the console with a game even.

Just saying this news of the 20GB model being dropped isn't a good thing no matter how fanboys wanna spin it and a lot of people want the 20GB model but what like the 20GB was 1 / 4 the amount shipped for the 60GB model.

No, not really. They're just saying it to "dig" at Sony for whacking the 20GB PS3. 

$100 is not going to hold up someone if they were truly interested in owning a PS3. 

Sony seems to be conceding that they are losing and are half way withdrawing from the market.  How long before the 60 gb model is next?  I say before the middle of '08.Heith

I never was a fanboy...or Lemming. I owned a PS1 and PS2 and if you read my blog or thread comparing the PS3 to 360 you would see I said that the PS3 would win in the end but let Nintendo and 360 way back in the race like I said SO MANY TIMES.

But you didn't realize that or check to see that cause you are a giantic blind fanboy who needs to feel good about himself.

I looked into the PS3 and 360 back at before the PS3 launch to figure out which I should buy with my brother and we both decided on the 360 because of Price and games. I don't need the more storage for one, or a Blu-Ray player, I hate the fact that it costed more and came with a free movie and not a game and I was more interested in the 360 games down the line especially Gears of War at the time.

So all you fanboys who wanna try and call me a fanboy... get some better ammo cause I like games not consoles. I don't support companies I support games and gamers.

No. The console itself if the initial cost. You can't throw accesories into the mix. It's not relavent.

So the PS3 has how many games total? Roughly 37? So thats $2,200. Well, that now brings your grand total to $2,800. Not to mention accessories.

Doesn't matter how much the console is, I'm assuming you spent money on all of this stuff.

And I bought my 360 for $50 less then the price and it came with four games.

So let's do the math genius

$524 after taxes for the Prem bundle I got with four games. Then I decided to get XBL, my choise on sale so add another $60 and then there's the PS3 in which I would have had to pay $871 to play one game at the time and a good time I would have to wait until some multiplats I want to play would come out like R6V.

The PS3 is a waste of money either way. You don't know next-gen until you're playing on Xbox Live, private chatting with friends, sending out game invites, and streaming music from your PC all at the same time! I could never get used to the PS3's last gen architecture. Extra disc space means nothing to me.

I don't get it what's hard for you to understand?

Some people think the 20GB was already $100 too much like me. Which means they wanted to wait to even buy that one till there was a price drop and a free game or two added. Now with the 20GB gone it means we have to wait even longer for the price to drop within the range we wanted the 20GB model to drop. You act as if I just can't pay $100 where the point we are talking about is paying $200 more then I would ever pay for a console and without games that come with it for free. 

The discontinuation of PS3 20GB just proved how Sony is losing its grip in the video game market. Why put it in the first place! Microsoft didn't pull the plug of the X360 Core after one year. This news just gives more ammunition to Microsoft and Nintendo. This news will make my sig more true (that PS3 = Wii60 with 1 game of each)

That's a pretty lame argument you have there. Money has time value. It is updated every year but changes everyday. It's not the same paying $100 now than to pay $4.75 per month.

And you can get a XBL 1 yr card for less then the retail value anyway. It's less then the price of a game if you buy it like then and worth every penny. Best money I ever spent was when I got live after playing my one month free. XBL is addictive like I never would have imagined before playing it

Funny that you mentioned that because the thing is that if PS3 solely (like 60GB never existed) sells the 20GB version for $499 or better $450, It will probably sells better than the Wii and perhaps X360 during the holidays the rest of the 5 months compare to what the 60GB version. It is because the price for the X360 Premium $400 and PS3 20GB $500 or $450 for competition sake, PS3 wills till look like the winner. It is the $600 price tag that kills PS3.

I don't think that's what he was saying.

He was saying how it's interesting that kcpp2b keeps saying the $100 price jump precludes him from purchasing a PS3. And yet, it doesn't restrict him from purchasing Xbox360 games and Xbox Live.

Which, I assume, will cost more than $100.

For me the 20GB wash $599.99 here in Canada and still too much for me...especially with no games but a movie...thanks.
But now without that model that means the PS3 is $200 more then what I would pay for and still without a game for the moment, that will change in the holidays I know. But I doubt we will see a $200 price drop anytime soon along with some free game or games with your purchase like I got with my 360

 Yeah but I want to spend that extra 100 bucks on games or simply something else. The ps3 isnt 600 dollars and the premium, isnt just 400. Theres tax. Plus a game. So your looking at 500 dollars for the premium and 700 for the ps3. 

Why would I want to spend 700 dollars all at one time for 1 system and 1 game. I dont even want to spend 500.  100 dollars is actually alot in terms of games. But even out of the context of games its alot. Especially if you a college student like me. That 100-200 dollar difference could pay for my books, gas, car insurence, FOOD. Or what not. So yes. Its the price of ps3 that will ruin it.

I said I paid $524 plus $60 for XBL here in Canada for 360 prem plus 4 free games. PS3, in Canadian these prices are mindyou, would cost $871 or so after taxes for me. But even without the bundle I got I still could get two free games for $499.99 where I could have only got Taledega Nights for $699.99 before taxes

And why do you keep bringing up $100? I complained about that number because I wanted the 20GB which was $100 more then I would pay for a console but now that number is $200 more then I would pay for a console that doesn't come with a free game even.

And you can get a XBL 1 yr card for less then the retail value anyway. It's less then the price of a game if you buy it like then and worth every penny. Best money I ever spent was when I got live after playing my one month free. XBL is addictive like I never would have imagined before playing it

ERRR Wrong, they are still releasing firmware updates and supporting the costumers that already bought a 20GB. You can easily upgrade the HDD to 120-160 for around 80 dollars, and if it breaks you can still get it repaired. You = fail

Selling ten times less...and it was available 20% compared to 80% of the PS3 launch that was shipped out as the 60GB model.

The supply was like four times less apparently so of course the numbers are down for it

I looked into the PS3 and 360 back at before the PS3 launch to figure out which I should buy with my brother and we both decided on the 360 because of Price and games. I don't need the more storage for one, or a Blu-Ray player, I hate the fact that it costed more and came with a free movie and not a game and I was more interested in the 360 games down the line especially Gears of War at the time.

So all you fanboys who wanna try and call me a fanboy... get some better ammo cause I like games not consoles. I don't support companies I support games and gamers.
